THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The episode had rather lackluster dialogue, however the fight scenes especially the end, was dope. Kind of reminded me of the last scene of Episode 8 (the movie)

(Also, I haven't seen the rest yet, cause you don't have to watch these in order)

The one I was most excited for. TRIGGER didn’t let me down, this was awesome! And yeah the dialogue was a little rusty, especially in the English dub, but regardless. This was so hype! This needs a continuation. It probably won’t get one, but I hope it does!

This is what I was expecting anime Star Wars to be, haha. The over-the-topness that comes with the medium was well handled by one of the best studios at doing it. It also provides an interesting contrast to the main Star Wars story, like a what-if scenario of if the twins were taken in by the dark side.

Despite some clunky and rushed dialogue, which can be resulted to the short runtime, the absurdity of the short more than made up for it. Like, there were gundam-like uniforms and lightsabers. You can't make up a cooler combo.

This was peak Trigger lol. Over-the-top fun and craziness, a nice bounce back after a weak 2nd episode.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Oh, this one was ... kinda bad. I expect a certain level of dumb from Trigger and I dont really mind it, but even the animation here was... well, not their best work

lots of Kanada School of Animation like deformed drawings and frame by frame striking poses that is now only done consistently by Trigger Studio so love it

and this is like 16 minutes runtime so 3-4 minutes more than the usual run of the episodes

Classic Trigger antics at work again, my favorite episode so far. 😍

Very captivating story in the sense that the two siblings ended up becoming so different from each other despite growing up in the same environment. This episode definitely got me salivating for more.

When you get Disney money and cant even come up with a new design for Curry Rice guy.

Star Wars Episode 8 ending. With the hyperdrive excuse, pretty sure that stunt would kill the sister anyway.

The only salvation of this was Am.

Not a good job coming from TRIGGER.

Twin Star Destroyer! Am channeling her inner General Grievous lol I like over the top anime scenes, so I quite liked this episode. I kinda hoped to see more to the birth of Twins, and what had happened to Am later. Loved hearing R2D2's scream from R-DUO and B-20N seems named after the letters preceding C-3P0 I guess. Really liked Am's design, found the Sith theme visually stunning.

Only in anime will they use a long-ass rainbow lightsaber + HYPERDRIVE to split a Twin Star Destroyer lmao

That was a pretty badass scene

The Waifu-Grievous didn't disappoint :d

Trigger on top with these animations and character design. The character dialog felt cheesy like with anime and Star wars quotes but i liked it. Felt like they took the most memorable stuff from star wars and placed it into this episode. Though, i guess they can breathe in space without helmets.

This one was Trigger at its most Trigger. Completely over the top and totally crazy.

I liked the concept, and the set piece of battling in space on top of Star Destroyers is awesome.

Visually it was terrific, I really like Triggers simplistic style, and it shone through very well here.

I just can't believe the guy used lightspeed to cut through her defenses. That is peak anime.

I'll have to re-watch this one again in subbed, because the dub was not good. I don't think it helps the fact Disney chose screen actors rather than actual trained voice actors.

This one was a solid 7.5/10. I liked the characters and the idea that the brother is going to go look for his sister.

Hold on, what's an X wing doing in the docking bay of an Imperial star destroyer?

I Kinda feel bad for Am as to what will happen next, and if you've watch star wars you know what Darth Vader will do to her, she should've just escape with Karre.

What awaits Am when she faces Darth Vader.

Studio Trigger did such a good job and dayumn the twins sith armour suits looked so dope especially the brothers AND WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT LIGHTSABER WHIPS?? YO THAT WAS SO DOPE. Genuinely loving this series so far, wish the episodes were a bit longer as 15 minutes for each episode goes so quick but nevertheless an amazing 15 minutes

in the end this is 90% studio trigger and 10% star wars lmao.
so much is wrong with this in terms of the star wars universe. Force abilities and even the laws of physics itself have been completely thrown away for this short, and in a way that made it that much better.

that said the animation was glorious, and while the plot wasn't very good, it served as a solid backbone for the characters. This is truly a studio trigger anime in every sense of the word

The only one i was gonna watch. obviously for the girl twins. Too bad that is it all. don't like short stories.

the actually attractive star wars characters are a breathe of fresh air from the usual shit Disney pumps out. But i guess this isn't really disney.

Also, only in anime would they ever give the girls high heels in battle lmfao. Even earrings.

Aw yeah now THIS is what I was expecting, and delivered by studio trigger no less. They have given us Siamese-twin style star destroyers, and even brought the fem-boy dude from promare into this LOL. Just like they brought kamina from gurren lagann into promare... dang they really do love their character designs. And I guess anime star wars characters can breathe in space? I like how they kind of re-did the hyperdrive scene from The Last Jedi as well. Didn't like the last jedi (or any of the sequel trilogy for that matter... or come to think of it, don't like the prequels either, or even the originals, heck I guess I'm not much of a star wars fan, most of the spin-offs are just kind of OK at best. You know what's good star wars? The last 4 episodes of the final season of the Clone Wars. Now THAT is star wars at its best.), but it was a nice nod to it.

6/10, I'd gladly take a full length movie, please.

I am kinda disappointed with the episode... I was so freaking hyped knowing Studio Trigger animating it but I guess Disney didn't give them more budget to make their animation style way crazier like their other works. The fight was lame but the lore was interesting... too bad these are just one-shot episodes. I have so many questions about this one... Not a fan of using the force in space but I'll let it slide because it's not canon, to begin with. Apparently, the twins can breathe in space? (I'm guessing they're some kind of a clone and droid hybrid???) And somehow the "C3PO" droid wears a helmet to save the sister? WUT? And a nitpick... how come there's no force field in their "superweapon" ship. I guess the lightsaber can penetrate it?

Like Promare, this feels like a watered down version of any of Imaishi's previous works. It's still super fast paced, with over the top action scenes and gorgeous character design, but the visual comedy that has characterized all of his work from Dead Leaves to Space Patrol Luluco is not there anymore. May be he wanted to be respectful to the franchise of Star Wars by taking a more serious approach, may be he was limited by Disney, but I feel that an unleashed version of Imaishi would've have the characters using their drill shaped dicks as lightsabers and fighting naked while throwing star destroyers at each other, and it would've been awesome.

Nonetheless, in my eyes everything this man directs is still more fun an interesting to look at than 99% of anime that doesn't have his name on it, so I'm happy it exist, and I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners next year.

Ah man this episode was just such complete dogshit

Typical Trigger really honestly, just style over substance, bitches fighting and talking in space with no helmets like if air exists but robot who saves her wears a helmet for some reason like if he needs air

Then of course there is that dumb shit with cutting the Star Destroyer like in Episode 8 which was a major mistake and Im not a fan of being reminded of that

Bah, some people complained in the past that The Rise of Skywalker had too much bizarre and crazy elements, compared to everything seen in Star Wars movies/series before.

Well, after seeing this crazy episode, I guess some of people are gonna change their opinion about weird stuff happening in Episode IX, haha.

Studio Trigger presented here stuff typical for shows made by Studio Trigger, just like @Deknijff noticed. Style over substance, crazy and wicked ideas with not much logic behind them, insane looking action scenes.

Bht not gonna lie, it was entertaining to watch. I liked this episode more than the previous one, however it still did not present the marvelous quality that could be seen in the first episode.

Oof that was a dumpster fire alright. .I started off sort of liking it but then everything went downhill at light speed the moment Karre stole the crystal. It is the usual nonsense from Imaishi that I've long since grown out of and as usual the dialogue, plot, and characters suffer leaving flashy lights and shiny colors as the only memorable thing.

Whoa
Of course it wat Trigger that made over the top meta episode with cheesy dialogue. They always write that type of dialogue and are definitely aware but also they just make it work somehow every time .
This almost felt like an Prologue to a much bigger story that I really want to see. I mean....twin children made from the dark side destined to bring order to the galaxy ? Classic Star Wars set up. Like....Prequel classic set up. Combination of Anakins and Luke, Leias stories.
Also seeing a lot of people complaining about them breathing in space and not wearing helmets. Dont care.
They used force bubbles or some shit. It exists. Google it.

Cool episode. This one was the episode I was most hyped for after watching the trailer. It wasn't perfect, and maybe my expectations were a little too high, but I was still able to enjoy it. The best part about this episode was the animation. It just blew me away. I wish it was longer because I feel like there should've been more time to develop the relationship between the twins. Overall, great episode though.

When I saw this on the trailer months ago, I'm hyped and look forward to see what Trigger's vision for Star Wars, specifically this episode, The Twins. In the end, I was like, okay, cool art and animation, but it could be something more. More improvements in terms of dialogue because I felt that it was rushed. Also, English dub, I think it was decent enough. Didn't expect Neil Patrick Harris took the VA for the male twin.

Props for pulling a nostalgic Grievious-esque moment, where I imagine how the fight of Grievous and Obi-Wan could've done more on Ep. 3 of the movie. Didn't expect that they even do the Holdo Manuever, but it was even better than the original version, because you know, Trigger!

This episode had the most "just turn your brain off and enjoy it" energy I've seen in a while. Very fun to watch but makes absolutely 0 sense. The siblings wear Darth Vader-style suits but are able to breath just fine without them(and can breath in space), and the characters refer the Republic, the Rebels, and the Resistance interchangeably, and the Republic and Empire as opposed to each other.

It's TRIGGER time, babyyyyy!!!

Awesome episode, very trigger-like. A lot of Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann vibes as well, the most epic fight so far (and I don't think they will beat that).

This multi-studios participation it's an awesome idea, soo many different types of stories and art styles. Really hyped to see what will come next!
For the ones that like to bother others (like me) with "you should read the manga/LN", please stop. I don't read mangas, I will NOT read mangas, I will not listen to what manga readers complain in adaptation to the anime counterpart, I only watch anime except in very few and specific situations.
