"A complaint, filed by the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing on Wednesday, alleges that Activision Blizzard Inc. "fostered a sexist culture" where women were paid less than men and subjected to ongoing sexual harassment including groping. The lawsuit alleges that Activision Blizzard's female workers who spoke to investigators "almost universally confirmed" that their time at the company was "akin to working in a frat house."

^YIKES!!!

"Male employees drank on the job and came to work hungover, the lawsuit said. The alleged sexual harassment ranged from comments about women's bodies and jokes about rape to the unwanted touching of female employees by their male peers."

^DOUBLE YIKES!!!

I'm not surprised one bit....this type of shit NEVER went away.

Gaming culture is still mostly a "Boys club" and dudes love to act in this frat house mentality regardless if women are there or not.

I hope they get sued into bankruptcy!

In the lawsuit there is a story where a female employee from Blizzard committed SUICIDE during a business trip.

Apparently a male supervisor brought butt plugs and lubricants during the trip and was subjected to constant sexual harassments.

JESUS FUCK!

Yeah....I hope Blizzard goes down.

Finally, an Alex topic that isn't filled with TDS. Anyway, you know it's bad when the State of California wants to sue your company. Blizzard's situation could tank the company, I mean even men got harassed in large numbers there. This isn't even the "Boys Club" the far left parrots, this is pure, unsustainable California degeneracy that's so bad that if any other business tried Blizzards' practices would cease to exist.

Reading the articles of what those women had to endure at work by their colleagues is disturbing. I really hope they can heal from the trauma especially after hearing one was so troubled they commit suicide, it’s so messed up. I’m not surprised by this given the line of work though you’re right by saying this shit never went away, ugh.

>mediocre games for years
>bragging about how progressive and inclusive they are while shit like this happens inside their company
>constantly trying to appeal to the chinese governemnt possibly due to tencent investment
>disregard for their core audience
I'm a bit sad because warcraft 3 and diablo ii are two of my favorite games of all time but they deserve whatever's coming for them.
Also yes I know I haven't mentioned activision but those fuckers haven't developed anything in-house since before I was born so blizzard is the easiest one to pick on.

This is actually a perfect example of the "Boy's Club" and if you think this type of degeneracy is unique to California I have a bridge for sale.

I would recommend reading some of Jason Schreier's reporting on the game industry as a whole to see how this kind of behavior is actually common place.

They should do something about Heartstone too, that game is based on a system far too similar to betting... and it's only labeled for 7+ years old

I used to love WoW and Warcraft 3 back in the day... I even played some WC 1 and Starcraft 2. It's pretty obvious that Blizzard has gone through some startling changes the past few years. That being said, they are way too legendary to simply throw under the bus.

The only part of this story I take umbridge with is the suicide, like yeah that's super fucked up. But in the event that it's not what it sounds like, then I don't really mind their 'frathouse culture.' Gamers are definitely some bad boys, I wonder why people don't seem to get that.

What a garbage company. No wonder they have not produced a single decent game since 2007 or so.

I only feel sorry for the small minority of non-degenerates who have worked or are still working there and all the victims of harassment over the years. Unfortunately, at least one human life was lost by the time all that came to light. As for the supervisor allegedly responsible for the girl's death, he better keep that butt plug, for he is most likely going to need it in the place he is going.

The whole Cosby suite thing lol why are men like this?

With how big this situation seems to be, maybe big gaming companies will finally do something to change their shitty work environment. One can only hope.

Yes, this couldn't be a better development. Hopefully this puts the slowly agonizingly dying Activision-Blizzard out of its misery and the intellectual property rights auctioned off to a less-bad publisher. And make Wokeism and China (or at least Tencent) more hostile against one-another, too, while at it.

Warcraft 3 was my childhood, its sad to see to see a once great company turn into this shit. I'm glad I washed my hands of Blizzard when they were acquired by Activision all those years ago. But I never would of thought it would end up being this bad.

I seriously wonder how these blizzard employees were hired to work for the company in the first place. What kind of qualifications can excuse such blatantly puerile, irresponsible, cringe-worthy, and even creepy behavior? Such people would never get hired by any serious company where I live.

Even worse, some of them work in the HR department and are responsible for recruiting future employees.

Peoples are quick to say "gamer, gamer" and forget that currently activision blizzard is controlled by peoples that aren't "gamers" at all, and instead think that "fun shouldn't be part of the job".
I haven't followed the news so maybe there have been names or specific positions pointed out already, but unless there are, I wouldn't be surprised that it's more the PR / administrative peoples in power over there that are abusing their power that way, rather than random game devs.
Like, that HR/ recruiter above for example. HR peoples aren't especially the nerd or gamer type usually.

Remember that Riot and Ubisoft also showcase sexual harassment and discrimination towards women in their workplace. Blizzard is just taking the heat at the moment.

Wow, people in power abuse that power, but still need to virtue-signal about "muh toxic male gamers". Also, what Kayle_x_Morgana said.
There is such thing as shit taste. Only idiots think that every "work of art" should have the same value.

Oil and nuclear are civilisation saviours. Deal with it.
