| Do you ever watch the first episode of an anime and see something that immediately tells you that it isn't going to end well? For me, it's boring characters. Personally, if the characters can't carry the show's weight, it doesn't matter if the plot, art, or anything is a masterpiece. I won't enjoy it. |

| When main characters don't stand out and I start mixing them up with other different characters. When the only difference between characters is their hair color or hair length. Characters carry the show and if they don't stand out the whole show fails. |

| When I see the villain. For example: Dokyuu Hentai HxEros has such ridiculous villains that I dropped the anime after ep 1. Even if it does get better in later episodes, I wouldn't have anyone to tell me. Plus judging by it's MAL rating, I wonder if people rated it after finishing it, or after only a few episodes |

| When the author writes characters as if has never seen (much less interacted with) a real human being. Sad thing is that it usually takes a couple of episodes for it to become apparent. |
| When a character gets too abusive or rude towards their friend or partner... it feels so obnoxious and over the top to me sometimes. I'm reminded of how Tsubaki and Kaori treated Kousei in Your Lie in April or how Hori treated Miyamura in Horimiya. It just gets tired when someone constantly gets thrown around or pushed into certain mindsets by their hyper friends. Some people see that as affectionate and I could see that, but perhaps it doesn't feel good to watch for me. |

| 1. Bad animation/artstyle. The artstyle one is subjective to that person's preference so it's okay if yall disagree with me. 2. First episode with no 'hook'. Imagine you're not making people anticipate for what's going to happen in the next epsiode. If the first episode is not having the 'hook', it just says a lot about how bad the narrative of the whole series is. Sometimes, I continue watching a series if the majority is discussing a lot about it. However, if I can not contain how bad the series is based on the two points above, I will have to give up.  |

| Totally abandoning the premise of the show, going from a large conflict to something like finding a missing sibling. Usually causes me to drop the show. If a MC is whiny I'll consider it predictable until/unless they finally stop being whiny. |

| I always give an anime to its last second to be prove its good parts to me. That said, isekai and fantasy are the 2 genres I'm most on-guard about. I won't discriminate against them by choosing not to watch them though. |

| I can usually tell after 1 episode when I'm going to dislike/hate a series. If the show's a "comedy" and doesn't even make me chuckle that's the biggest red-flag. Chidori RSC is the first example that comes to mind EDIT: Sorry, Chidori RSC, I completely forgot about Pop Team Epic again Ecchi that isn't played for laughs is also a huge red-flag for me. Ecchi is subjective and I happen not to enjoy it at all, unless it's part of a joke or is somehow relevant/important to the story. On that note, if the first time we see the protagonist, they're in their underwear, that's a pretty big giveaway that I'm not gonna have fun with this series. I'm looking at you, Kannazuki no Miko Not explaining anything in the first episode. I get that "mystery" series are supposed to leave viewers in the dark for a bit, before revealing everything slowly, but I at-least like having a baseline knowledge of what's going on when I start a series. This is even more of a red-flag for me if the show isn't even in the mystery genre. Like, if the first episode doesn't even tell you what planet the series takes place on, what year the series takes place in, what the characters' names are, what the main protagonist looks like or why everyone's interested in the McGuffin then I don't care. Lastly, unlikeable main/supporting characters. Nothing can ruin an otherwise ok series quite like a horrendous lead Beyond the Boundary is the first show to come to mind in that department |

| For me , it's the ridiculous reverse harems. As soon as I see guys running after a girl because of some awful reason, I'm out. An example of that would be Koi to Producer. Anything Ecchi is another red flag for me. Animation is not so much of a problem unless it's completely hideous. |
