maybe this is just me, but does anyone else dislike when a series will put scenes after the credits of a show ? i'm referring to ones that are integral to the plot of the series btw, and aren't just easter eggs. i guess i'm being pretty broad in my judgements, but in general i feel like its mostly an annoyance when they're there. not putting them in the actual show feels like, a cop out in terms of writing and pacing ? or just a cheap move in general ?

i dunno, i'm curious what y'all think haha

I find post-credit scenes to be a minor annoyance. This is especially so when only some of the episodes in a series have them while others don't. At the same time, some post-credit scenes work better as such than being part of the actual episode.

Honestly, i think post credit scenes are annoying as hell, some anime have so many post credit scenes and its like they assume you should watch after the credits even though the episode should be over.

they're fine in a general sense. Although it pisses me off when I'm watching the show on a service with ads, because typically there's an ad break that only happens if you watch the ED, so if i have to sit through extra commercials it better be a damn important addition

It's good to build up hype, but it's a bit annoying when some episodes have them and some don't

I don't mind them and in the case they usually apply to (cliffhangers) it leaves with a stronger impact than following it up with the weekly ending theme. It also provides a point for a natural cutaway so it tends to improve pacing more than it hurts it.
Granted I'm the kind of person who watches OP and ED themes and will wait until the video player stops before I close it.

People that just close the video as soon as the ED starts without checking deserve to get fucked over.

If they're setting up events for the next episode/arc/season that do not have a direct link with the currently wrapped up story, then a post credit scene makes more sense than it being before the credits since events of the current episode/arc/season need breathing time for closure. Think the post credit scene in SNK s3.1 (last ep).

its annoying. More annoying that the pre-opening scenes. I wish they'd just stop messing around and put the opening and endings where they belong.

they're training me to notice if the ed seems to be exceptionally long .__.

sometimes it's a good change of pace, it doesn't bother me that much.

No it doesn't bother me. The creators want people to stick around, so if people choose to go to the next episode or stop watching once the ED rolls, that's their problem.

You could easily figure the time remaining out and then figure how much time is available left that is allotted to a typical ED theme and the next episode preview to see if there is enough of a time to have post credits scene.

I don't find them annoying, it's not so hard to check the time that's left. If it's more than 2 minutes, you can easily realize that there is something more hiding there, waiting for you to discover it.

I don’t watch them too often, or I’ll typically forget after I finish the episode. The only time I will watch a post-credit scene is if it’s the last episode.

i think that if it has plot important information, they should not be there, but i do appreciate when the after credits have some reference to the source material, such as carnival phantasms after credits scenes.

Since I watch using VLC Media Player there's no chapters sometimes for longer-running anime, which means it's definitely an occasional nuisance. The problem is that I only check for those in movies and not TV Series unless its the final episode.

I hate it, i have to rely on commenters to know the existence of post credit scenes
it's still better than incostistent length pre OP scenes though

Well, it depends. Shingeki no Kyojin did it really well in the last episode of season 2. If it's just some random thing, I could care less about it though.
Edit: I basically only care about if it's the last episode.

Same here. Not that I hate them, but having to rely on comments to know if there is an actual post-credit scene is annoying unless those are irrelevant to the plot. I also watch them but if I miss them I don't care

Anyone who leaves during the ED is scum. Post-credit scenes all the way.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

It's a small part of the reason why I can't stand Marvel these days. Aside from releasing the same film in different colours every 6 months they started this trend in movies of having these little post-credits stingers.

At best, mildly amusing. At worst, completely irritating.

Can't say I've seen any bad ones in anime though...can't even think of any examples right now...but I guess that's because most I've seen have kind of continued through the credits, rather than waiting for after.

It depends on the scene itself in general.

Either it forms a decent bridge between features, or clears up a loose end, or is there for some added fun.

Anything else is just unnecessary padding.

Post credits scenes are great. I agree that if you click off during the ED then you deserve to get fucked and miss it. You're not worthy.

I found it interesting tbh. For an anime that doesn't really use post-credit scene that much, i feel like they tend to show thr audience something important for that anime. Like AoT s3p2 episode 19 where the post-credit scene shows
, that gives me new atmosphere and look on that anime. I would say it's really important, considering how different that particular scene with other usual scene.

As someone who literally never skips OPS or EDs (unless I'm watching on Netflix which automatically skips the OPs sometimes, frick you Netflix) I don’t see them as an inconvenience.

Out of all animes Kiniro Mosaic is the one where every single episode has an after credits that took longer than one minute. in episode 9 of season 1, is the hide and seek scene in Kiniro Mosaic for the after credits scenes.

I don't like them because I tend to accidentally skip them. Sometime I'd have to go to the comments to find out that there was a post-credit scene.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Not a fan. I generally skip the ED so I might miss a scene after the credits if I don't notice the episode ended a bit early.

They are perfect for things like epilogues because they work as a good barrier implying a passage of time.

I also don't mind if it's used for comedy if it cuts back to the same scene implying the characters have been standing around for a 90 second awkward silence.

As a lead-in to the next episode of okay as long as important details are covered again in the next episode.

I absolutely hated how it was used in God of Highschool though. Introducing the wedding subplot and leaving you confused for like half an episode as to what was happening. Just terrible editing there.

Also, lmao @ the idiots claiming shit like 'If you leave when the ED starts, it's your own fault'.

I'm so glad you get to decide how others consume things just because you do it that way. You're a prick.

If the ending credits start too early, you know that's when there's something after the credits you might not wanna miss. Of course, if you're too lazy to mouse over the stream/playing window to check the time on the show when the credits start so you miss the scene everytime, that's on you.
There's no inherent right or wrong in this universe, but when we think with emotions rather than logic, we make things so.
