| Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregototsukai I'm pretty sure the genres for this anime should be changed. Supernatural should be removed since there is literally nothing supernatural going on. I really don't know where the person that put that genre got that from. I would also remove action since there is only one fight scene in the whole show and people that watch this didn't even come for fights. Thriller and psychological should definitely be added. The same goes for the light novels of this series titled Zaregoto series, except the action genre can stay since there is more action in some other volumes that the anime didn't cover. |

I was thinking of this rule from database guidlines: OVA & ONA will be set to finished after 18 months of inactivity (i.e.: no new information or releases). If a new episode is subsequently released, the entry will be re-opened. But I looked and noticed that I forgot about this part: OVA/Special episodes will be combined into one entry unless it is indicated that one is a sequel of another. So I guess they should be separate after all? I myself am not really sure because from what I've noticed those rules aren't always consistent (e.g. LOGH). That's why I put question marks for someone to clear things up. |

I'm a bit confused about something: I've just watched Digimon: The Movie, (duration: 1h 25min) a 2000's American film adaptation of the first three(actually four) Japanese Digimon films distributed by 20th Century Fox. Yet this movie isn't in the database, only the original three movies; links: http://myanimelist.net/anime/2961/Digimon_Adventure_Movie -(20min) http://myanimelist.net/anime/2397/Digimon_Adventure__Bokura_no_War_Game -(40min) http://myanimelist.net/anime/2962/Digimon_Adventure_02_Movie -(2x32min) The confusion is even greater as English synonym for all three films is the same Digimon: The Movie. So, I can't label all three (four) of them as completed when I only saw dubbed american version-which is also copyrighted 1999-2000 TOEI ANIMATION so it's not an american 'product' if that's the problem. While I don't wan't to watch originals (I don't like the franchise at all) as I would score them poorly, I was advised to see this anime movie as it's quite unique with good humor and great music (Fatboy Slim, Less than Jake, Len, Barenaked Ladies etc). And it is,so much in fact that it deserves a reasonably good score (in my opinion) - but it's impossible to grade it as it's not in MAL database. The total confusion is even more obvious on forums where one group criticize the film(s) and are giving it low,bad grades (mostly they are talking about correct Japanese entry-links are above) while the other group on the same forum praise the (american) film and how good it is not knowing they are talking about completely different anime (which is even not listed in database). Something must be done about this as quite a few fans here have been misled and had left their grade under/for wrong anime! I hope my writing isn't too confusing as well and that you understand what I'm talking about! :) Thanks, take care, jaka ReportQuote #20 Sakuraoka May 18, 2016, 9:30 PM hey i think Cat's Eye http://myanimelist.net/anime/2043/Cats_Eye is two seasons! AnimeDBGuidelines said: Section II: Anime Types The first release of an anime is the most important one, as long as the majority of it was released that way. For example, if only the first episode was pre-aired online and the rest is released on TV, that would make the entry a TV series and not an ONA. Furthermore: a. TV If a TV series is split into two parts and at least one season (~12 weeks) falls between the last episode of the first part and the first episode of the second part, the second part will be treated as a second season and the anime will have two entries. Note: This is to organize currently airing series that have large gaps between seasons so entries are not left as currently airing for months on users' lists (e.g. White Album, Asura Cryin). Thus, if a similar gap occurred with a series that has already finished airing, that entry will not be split now (e.g. Cardcaptor Sakura, Big O). If there is no gap between seasons, but the continuation of the series is indicated as a separate season with a new title, it will get a second entry. (e.g. Shugo Chara, Shikabane Hime) http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=141101 ReportQuote #22 Jerkhov May 18, 2016, 11:30 PM Max said: BigOnAnime said: It's probably going to get rejected unless I clarify on it, so bringing this here. For Cowboy Bebop's Background, there's this piece. I don't know what the show's TV ratings were […], but I do know that the show was a hit on home video, which easily breaks the long-believed myth that Cowboy Bebop bombed in Japan. It's saying the series was not successful at the time of its broadcast. This does not imply that its sales were bad. Except it was successful when it first came out, 19k in the first release run is certainly above average if you looked at the sales of other series at the time, it surpassed Gundam Wing which is a massively successful franchise. Ratings is different from disc sales. But popularity doesn't equate to ratings. Besides, where's even a source that it had low ratings? The reason the original broadcast was cancelled was because it was too violent to air more than half of the episodes, and if it was rebroadcast later surely this means there was enough interest for people to want to watch the series in its entirety. ReportQuote #25 Rei_III May 19, 2016, 6:03 AM I just watched the Body Swap OAV (part of some OAV collection): http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=4149 It is only labelled as ecchi and yuri while it contains over 10minutes of overly explicit sexual content. Of course, no intimate body part is unveiled but it shows you sexual intercourses (same sex and different sexes, one or more partners) nonetheless when another animation of the same "series" doesn't go to this extent. About Gundam ReportQuote #26 kitsune0 May 19, 2016, 7:29 AM http://myanimelist.net/anime/63/DearS There must be mentioned that DearS Special (http://myanimelist.net/anime/1817/DearS_Special) has been originally made (and numbered) as Episode 10 (there is even preview for the next episode at the end) because of very common misunderstanding. Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DearS#Anime) lists DearS as thirteen episode anime, and half of the comments in Episode 10 Discussion topic are actually for Special. Today many users watch anime online on (illegal) streaming sites, and I've already seen cases when Special has been put as Episode 10 (not as 13th, as it's usually done). And preferably it must be done not in "More info" section which is very rarely (if ever) been explored by users, like it has been already countless times proven in past Anime DB Modification Requests topic. I've tried to make it entertaining, not just descriptive, so it's short - no need to establish the setting (it's already been done in main entry), no need to list the characters (there is corresponding section for this) and there mustn't be too much information (=spoilers). Add genres: Mystery (anything other would be a spoiler). There is such thing as shit taste. Only idiots think that every "work of art" should have the same value. ReportQuote #29 Tacas Social Media Team May 19, 2016, 12:14 PM Soo... Haikyuu!!: Lev Genzan! and Haikyuu!!: vs. Akaten have just been combined into Haikyuu!! OVA. Are those even OVAs? They have been released at a Jump Festa first, so shouldn't they qualify as specials and consequently not be combined? Moreover, is there any difference to other Jump Festa special which were released on BD later? Due to consistency, shouldn't all Gintama, Naruto and Bleach entries which aired at Jump Festa be combined as well? Please don't. ReportQuote #30 Zazie122 May 20, 2016, 3:09 AM Yeah, they're Jump Festa specials and those are (for whatever reason) always separate. | https://myanimelist.net/anime/39795/Ochi_Mono_RPG_Seikishi_Luvilias Change title to Ochi Mono RPG Seikishi Ruvyrias. When I was watching this anime, titular character's name also really sounded like it should just be Ruvyrias, unlike Lifulia, who I didn't named, dunno, Rifuria, or Riflia. Btw, I already submitted request for change, but every character in that title is main character with episode focused on them, but for some reason I made a mistake, and set some of them as supporting ones, even Voice who is basically main main character. The only supporting character in it is Fonica. |

| Telepathy Shoujo Ran https://myanimelist.net/anime/3668/Telepathy_Shoujo_Ran Remove genre: Fantasy Add genres: Mystery, romance, supernatural Source: Currently watching it, and the ANN entry also has the above genres tagged: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=9141 Since it's a low popularity anime, it would be great for it to get more visibility by being properly tagged. | Submitted this a while ago and it seems it got denied. Can we add a source field like for adding producers, broadcast times, and such so stuff will actually get approved easier? My submissions rarely get approved except when I do it here, this has been the case for the past year, producers and episode information. A source field only exists for editing episode information for episodes already in the database.
