I've been reading manga since around 2003, and watched almost no anime up until 2015 when I watched Hibike! Euphonium and got really into seasonal anime and watching shows at a faster pace. I've become addicted to anime since then.
10: Perfection, a personal favorite
9: Extremely good
8: Very good, something I want to continue as soon as possible
7: Enjoyable almost the entire time
6: Decent, but sometimes not enjoyable or slightly flawed in some way
5: A chore to watch/read or disappointing ( 5 and below were overall not a good or enjoyable experience in some way)
4: A struggle to continue
3: Bad
2: Very Bad
1: Garbage
I rate based on personal enjoyment, not exactly objectively
I don't rate specials/bonusOVAs or recap movies
i read the novel after dropping it midway through ep 3 bc it and ep 2 were shaping up to be 8th grade fanfiction level of kyoani drama, plus i always had my suspicions that the events of ep 1 could have been handled better. i was completely right and i ended up thinking the novel was a masterpiece. you can't put it on me reading the source for that (not implying you were, you didnt at all, just putting that out there).
tl;dr the beginning of ve was executed so poorly i didnt want to pull the 3 ep rule, so i read the novel and loved it. those two events are distinct from each other as well
I hope that's been leading to you making some good pals on here. Honestly, I usually delete random requests anymore, but I check out the profile a little before I do, and seeing New Game! and Yugioh in the favorites meant I had no good reason to not accept. Well, you beat me to reading manga. I read manga until December 2015, when I was given volume 1 of Rosario to Vampire. I still need to continue it and I didn't actually pick up a manga on my own until over a year later. You had the luxury to do that. My elementary school started at 8, but I was out by 2 instead of 3. I use to watch on Saturdays off kids wb (4kids, essentially). Your like me again. I prefer to watch many shorter shows too, sometimes too much because I've watch a good number of shorts and one episode shows that I shouldn't have just because I felt like completing a show at the time. Still, though, I'm much more cautious about what I choose to watch once it goes over 13 episodes. Even 24 is a bit for something you don't care about much. I absolutely the english opening, specially the battle city and enter the shadow realm ones (season 2 and 3; it was the same song with different pictures), but the full version is amazing too. Too bad it's really only available to get from youtube. I probably should've felt more nostalgia when I re-watched it, but I didn't remember much until I re-watched, so it was like almost all of it was new to me.
So you're the creator of RareKumikos? I'm the one who's mostly posting there these days! Thanks for creating a place where we can share pictures of one of the most precious girls on this planet <3
Thanks for the request. I see you're a fellow New Game! fan. I love seeing that. I see Yu-gi-oh on your favorite manga list. Another excellent choice. I only watched the show, but I saw Yugioh season 0 and dual monsters, so it's close to reading the manga at least, minus the fact that I watched most of it dubbed. It just didn't bother me much, and I didn't like the Japanese vas as much, especially Yugi's.
Akira is a movie I didn't expect to like considering what it usually gets compared to (and I didn't like neither), so that was far from a surprise, this in the end should mean little to nothing to you since it's more of a matter of what I prefer, I hope Akira ends up delivering when the time comes for you to watch it!
Been speaking to another jojo fan, and drew up a plan.
1] try out 1993 OVA.
added bonus of probably starting w/ a quick recap of 2nd cour of 2nd season of part 3.
2] skip to s02e16 which is the beginning of the run up to the finale.
3] either finish previous, or skip to s02e21 which is the actual finale. the big battle with dio.
4] either finish previous, or go back to 1993.
5] Either finish previous, or drop but watch Satoshi Kon's episode standalone [episode 5]
2 hours later...
Just did [1]
I really like the feel of 1993 jojo. much better than 2000
really great animation, directing and pacing. loved it
I feel sad being pulled away from this excellence, to go back to the tv series.
my plan is to watch ep 16 now and decide what i want to do
edit: finished Stardust Crusaders tv. I watched eps 16, 21-24
I'm glad I finished it.
I've been wondering how they'd win against a power like The World for a long time.
But I'm very disappointed with how they wrote out of that.

Was fun tho. OVA next, then part 4.
i'm going to go watch the OVAs
2000 adapts "season 1" of part 3
1993 adapts "season 2" of part 3. this one has Satoshi Kon's stuff.
but it's not a complete adaptation, it cuts out the monster of the week stuff.
i.e. fuck yes, exactly what it needed doing.
