THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
It's cute how much Nene cares about Hanako since she knows more about him in these most recent episodes.

I do find it slightly weird the episode involved...uh, donuts? Lol. Good thing the usual humor of the show kept me entertained alogn with the otherwordly elements. Sakura is also entertaining to watch.

I am not going to go beyond where the episode ended in the manga, but wait did they just erase the whole "Little Mermaid" arc? Or do I need to give the manga a reread?

I don't know what lerche is doing not only skipping 1 important arc, but 2.

They were important since they set Kou/Hanako relationship, and the promise between Nene and Hanako(and the impact in their relationship as well). I know they won't adapt in the future the Young exorcist arc since they included the conversation that happened between Kou and Teru there in today's episode. The promise between Nene and Hanako will probably be adapted later but what kind of situation are they gonna use for that? I have no idea how they are going to deal with it.

Overall the anime is going way too fast and not letting you get to know the characters and just trying to adapt as much as It can from the manga. So if you can, go read the manga. I know you can't adapt everything from the source material, but at least don't do more than you can handle. The scenes barely have any impact at this point since it goes from one point to another in the same episode.

I'm here just sad that Kou who's such an important character on the manga is being left as some secondary character who's third wheeling the main couple.

im pretty pissed that they cut out the young exorcist arc and replaced it with that short conversation between teru and kou; not only was that important for establishing hanako + kous relationship, it also explored the powers of the minamoto clan, in particular teru. theres some important information surrounding kou and his relationship with his family, the short exchange between him and teru doesnt suffice for what we see in the manga; all we've really seen of kou in the anime is what hes like around nene and hanako.

that aside, the donuts scene was nicely done ((i really love that part in the manga)), as was tsukasa's reveal. ive been so excited to see mitsuba and im really glad they introduced him at the end of the episode so that next week can do his arc justice. its a huge turning point for the story; im really interested to see how and if the animation changes

Awesome episode, lots of great moments just like in Porn!

Really cute interactions with Nene and her kouhai "Personal space please"

So, I'm wondering if Amane and Hanako-Kun alter are like two aspects of the same person. Amane being the good side and Halter being the bad side.

Man I love this show. Wish more people would check it out, the artistic choice and direction are top notch and there's definitely more to the plot than it seems.

mannn... i keep giving this anime second chances and it's disappointing every time. lerche keeps skipping arcs, and they're really speeding up the character intros. at this rate i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to fit mei in there somewhere. there's no good way to fit 60+ chapters into a twelve episode anime. please slow down.

we were even robbed of tsukasa's fangs. unbelievable. (his reveal was so unsatisfying,, just go read the manga the drama is executed so much better..)

They skipped the little mermaid arc which I don't really mind since it was kinda boring in the manga. And he's finally here my boy, I'm glad he got the same Va as Hanako. Also, mitsuba is here I don't know really know what to think of he's Va, it kinda fits. Also, Kou is best boy.

I feel the same way. When I saw the conversation that happened between Kou and Teru, I already knew there is no way they are going back to animating that arc. :( Which is a disappointment, I really like the character development in that arc). Why did they have to skip the Mermaid Arc, in the manga we know
is Hanako's brother by Hanako telling Nene, but anime ( thanks to them skipping ahead) we learn that by Sakura... Hopefully, they will animate the promise between Nene and Hanako ( I am guessing by the end of the Mitsuba arc .... maybe) I still love the ep ( seeing Hanako's brother animated is awesome :3 ) & it had cute moments between Nene and Hanako definitely one of my top eps, I just wish they don't skip so much important details. >.<

Man, going after Hanako because of donuts seems contrived, at least for Kou, with Nene helping him out as a favor. The Mokke seems funny too, and I never get tired of watching their small antics. But realising their time with Hanako, their motives changed too, so did their livelihood with him.

I don't know if Teru and Kou's relationship went that far, but cutting out the Young Exorcist arc just isn't setting things straight.

Facing YET another Hanako-kun, a deadly and deathly one? That must've scarred him very badly, someone whom he killed before.

But all of these are the work of the same group of students
who are changing the landscape rumours for evil...and with it, don't know if it's a teaser or skipping content thereafter.

As for now, still keeping hopes that the cut arcs will be covered down the pipeline, understand if everyone is pissed off at this development. In a nutshell, obviously anime adaptations will fall short of the manga, but the pacing will determine the arcs that are prevalent over the issues covered in the anime. That's what most shows have done since time millennial, and it's the same for this series here. Just wanna get this out for all who are concerned, especially manga readers.

Quite a frank intrigue for the last 7 mins of the episode, but it's definitely a preparation for the worst coming up not now, but soon.

Too bad the donuts ended up on the floor. F

Kou is such a good boy, he decided to make donuts to make Hanako happy, and he even told Yashiro to deliver them instead of saying it was his idea.

That dude at the end of the episode seems entertaining lol

Are we sure that Kou-kun isn't dead like Hanako-kun? I mean, he is no apparition, but he is certainly an angel! Yashiro was feeling overwhelmed after getting to know a bit of Hanako's past, and realizing again that he is dead and stuff. But Kou was there to show her that she isn't alone, and to make those donuts happen because he also cares about Hanako and wanted them to get back to normal. I also love that she trusted him enough to open up. This trio might take a while to fully open to each other, but they certainly care and they certainly aren't alone. Kou's brother also isn't as unreasonable as I thought he was at first. I can't believe the donuts were ruined though, but Yashiro was really cool protecting Hanako-kun from his brother like that. And now we know who he killed, though questions remain. And I thought that the pink haired boy was a normal student for a moment, but he really seems to be a ghost with a wild imagination. xD

that's one of my main problems with the anime is the way they wrote Kou in. he has little to no impact on the story and i feel like he's not getting the good character writing he deserves

The rat brother is here. Y'all who stan that boy make me AHUHUHUSHHH.

Anyway, MITSUBA! My son is here! I was not expecting to see him yet.. his vc is so good for him. OH, and the chaotic duo (Mitsuba and Kou) are finally together!

Lastly, I feel so bad for Hanako. Sure, he killed his brother, though even us manga readers are not completely sure why yet. We have gotten some hints though.

"LIKE IN PORN!" ...I love you, Mitsuba. It warmed my heart when he gave Kou this insult, "Lame-ass earring"... my heart went BOOM! It was nice to hear him say it instead of reading him saying it. Overall, great episode! No doubt I am going to cry next week..

Wow, what a bizarre voice choice for Mitsuba, I didn't think it was. But when he said normally this voice was fine, but screaming was very strange. But I still love him, my Mitsuba-kun. <3

It is a loss that the adaptation cut some chapters...
Gimme more character development and/or romance. Probally a shotacon.

The boy that Hanako killed, at first I thought that he was Hanako - an allusion to suicide. But, since they called him his 'brother', I'm not sure if that was literal, or, most likely, a reference to them as 'brother spirits' because they were the same person in life?

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

It's kinda weird for Hanako and
to have the same va. Don't watch anime much (I'm more into the manga), so Idk. Is it common for
to have same va?

Also at first I thought mitsuba's voice is kinda weird, but I'm getting used to it I guess. Since it can changed from cute to annoying in 0,1s, just like him lol.

I've read the manga, but the Donuts part still give me chills. They execute the scene well!

Also it's kinda obvious but Kou is best bby boi, period.

Yeah, Tsukasa's intro was definitely better in the manga, but at least they got the distressed Hanako scene right. I love how darker they just made it out to be.

As an anime only fan I keep seeing people talking about skipped arcs, while I am sad that I can't watch more scenes animated I don't feel like the anime doesn't make sense and I don't feel like Kou is being made into a side character. Although i'm sure the manga does go much deeper into the relationships between each character with the 'cut arcs' I feel like the story still flows and I understand the relationships enough for their actions to make sense, despite my understanding not being as deep as it could've been.

I'm just writing this cuz it seems people think they ruined the anime by cutting these arcs but personally as an anime only fan I don't think anything seems off in the series.

That being said I do want more Hanako kun!! Does anyone know how long the actual manga series is (so far if it's ongoing) I don't read manga because i'm a slow reader in general and since i'm a newbie to manga still it takes me a while to work out which order to read the panels in, but I love the characters so much already that I wanna see more of them, even if it means trying to read :')
