The convoluting mystery of Ai Magase, including her past and all, much from being a womaniser at face value, is still far from a puzzle piece needed to close this case. And Seizaki is frustrated more than ever, not yet convinced about her, and everything.

On the side of family things, more than family conflict, the estranged uncle of hers revealed a story of massive proportions, but the core is always TOXICATING MENTALISM. And I certainly don't expect to understand the heart from the mindgames. But it's even scarier to be caged by a bird, much less being a free spirit. Seduction is always women's powerful intuition and source, but in the case of Ai Magase, a LETHAL WEAPON.

The race to find a culprit (or MOREOVER) a scapegoat, from the controversial mayor that is Itsuki, has led Seizaki to Ai herself. That ending where another of the investigation team got killed in action, that was absolutely shuddering.

Once again, the ultimate intimately antagonist of a woman got her 2nd kill while Seizaki is still reeling on another issue.

I don't know about you, but this just keeps getting better.

Welp, I watched half the episode, then decided to just give up on the series. That doctor scene was just too much casual sexism for me to handle, and it looks like it's just going to get worse...

So a teenage girl is so charming and hawt that everyone wants to bang her, and the logical conclusion is: it's her fault for making them feel that way? She's just poisonous and needs therapy?

It's when I see stuff like that in anime that I feel very glad I don't live in Japan...

Good episode, glad to see more of the assistant woman's personality. Animation and directing were solid. First half especially reminded me of Garden of Sinners. I like where the show's going, but I do hope it doesn't get too caught up in its own themes and symbolism (albeit that probably is due in part to it being adapted from a light novel). Ai is really interesting though, her speech at the end was really effective, I mean I know it's not rare for a villain to see themselves as the hero, but the execution was still good. I'm not overly worried about the writing and story, but I do hope the level at which it's written matches the level of the themes, if that makes sense. Anyway, regardless of where it's going to end up, I think this is certainly the most interesting and intriguing anime of the season imo.

I don't know, the whole "I got horny, it must have been her fault" thing really pissed me off... It reminded me way too much of guys saying "if you're wearing those clothes, you're just asking for it"

So yeah, didn't see the whole thing, but just from the doctor's story, we're just one step away from full on rape culture

I dunno doc, Ai's magic rape power is probably all in your head...ascribing an intent to seduce as a passive effect sounds a little dangerously close to the reason why women are supposed to wear burqas. I was expecting an incident more like something Erika Furudo, the self-proclaimed intellectual rapist, would do - that is, find everyone's psychological weak point and needle them like she does in episode 2.
I can accept that Magase has Speech 100 and maxed Charisma and write off the doc as unreliable narrator for the time being.

the arrow nudges a little closer to "trainwreck" on the meter

It's probably hard to make it legally stick that Itsuki abetted suicide even though there's a good case to make for it, namely the 64 people killed themselves to commemorate the law.

Magase: "do you play RPGs?"

And Truck-kun isekai's another one.

lol, its the same guy from episode 4, the lieutenant that have been told to investigate Magase Ai and also the same person who told Seizaki about Ai's uncle and all that.

This is getting too predictable imo. I knew the investigator guy was gonna get killed. Why was he not warned about what happened to the previous people who interacted with Magase? Also, why is Seizaki so incompetent? Why doesn’t he just check the camera footage from the interrogation room to know exactly how Ai hypnotized the guard guy that killed himself too? This would make things more clear for everyone.

"What is justice to you?"

Famous last words. Pretty obvious that the Assistant girl will die at some point.

For all we know, that guy probably have been told to be careful off camera (frame). Predictable but still doesn't take away the fun to watch the series, still hooked many people to stay and want to know the "How?" question.

The camera footage probably doesn't have anything anyway, we knew the guy already being seduced beforehand. So, pretty much the guy probably just set her free with no action being caught in the camera. They later met outside then boom, suicide.

I mean, even Ai's uncle was barely to hold himself even when he knows why the student said they were "raped". A little push, Ai probably would've made her uncle to his demise

Because before the assistant, we'd only seen one woman in the entire series, and they established she can look like anyone, so the conclusion's pretty obvious. If they do that reveal later and play it like it's a shocking surprise, I'll point at my screen and laugh.

She's certainly improved her speech skill since that time, but I doubt it's just in his head. It seems to be less a passive effect and more a calculated use of body language to send signals to her victim's subconsciousness.

Ai Magase is Johan Liebert as an incubus. Whereas Johan intrigued me, Ai just disgusts me completely.

At this point there's no possible logical answer for why she is the way she is, because this show is definitely going beyond the bounds of the believable. I'm curious about her past and psychology, but I mostly just want her to burn.

This show started off interesting but if it's just gunna turn into a "women being too sexy makes men unable to control themselves and commit suicide" kinda deal then...blah. Also the part with all those students saying she raped them when she didn't even do anything except EXISR, like..what? I'm so confused. Is this show trying to just trivialize rape accusations or something? I'm probably gunna finish it cause I don't like dropping shows but after this episode I just don't know what to think anymore.

I know people compare Magase to Johan Liebert but I liked Johan and I think he's a better evil protagonist than Ai. It's hard to explain, I'm not very good at conveying into words how I feel but Johan Liebert is more well-written. I'm not saying Magase Ai is a bad character, she's a great villain and definitely evil. However, with Johan, I still liked him despite him being the antagonist, with Magase Ai, I can't seem to like her. She's a master manipulator and all but if she happens to die, I wouldn't care. I still don't know much about her background to care enough for her.

I guess my stupid theory of Magase Ai perhaps being a man crossdressing as a woman went out the window. I don't even know why I thought that. Perhaps because they made an emphasis on the word "female" in the first few episodes like she desperately wanted to become a woman.

What are you saying!? The show is not saying that hot women are responsible. How did you get the entire premise wrong? Ok even if that's the case, how would you feel if a man is using women the same way Magase is doing? This is just double standard.
The show clearly tells in episode 5 that Magase consciously persuaded these men to commit suicide. Forcing somebody to commit suicide is a crime regardless of gender! When did this ever become what you are describing it to be?

Yeah ! Some people are saying that she didn't do anything wrong, because she didn't rape anybody.
Even the show says kid Magase didn't do anything wrong. Only after she starts forcing suicides they say she's bad. I can't believe people defending her just because she's a woman.

If a woman had told the same story as the doctor about a man that made her want to bang him, therefore the man must be responsible, I would have been just as angry and I would also have dropped the show.

Like I said, I haven't watched the whole episode, and I'm sure she does awful things, but just from the doctor's perspective, his whole story is "I wanted to fuck her, she must have done something to me, it's not my fault". And the show presents it like he's right. That's what made me angry, and made me stop watching.

I understand your point. But the show didn't say the old man was right. Seizaki was disgusted at him. And I agree child Magase was not wrong. But if you had seen the remaining, you know for a fact that she is intentionally manipulating them. I am not saying women should not look sexy or seductive. But if a woman is intentionally using the sex drive to commit crime, it is wrong, regardless if gender.

The old guy was a boderline pedo. He was never meant to be likeable by the audience. I was disgusted are him too.

This episode felt weird. Magase characterization is irksome, at times. She (sort of) reminds me of Light Yagami, in how she wants 'purify' the world with her misplaced ideals. Her mannerisms, however, are bit more extreme than Light. Also, her speech about being an Isekai 'hero' was just out of place.

I felt the same vibe as you, but I'm giving a benefit of a doubt and they also understand this as her uncle said "she had difficulty talking to people" and "therapy was just an excuse to see her more often", most likely they are building some sympathetic aspect to her like "she was treated as object so she started to treat others as objects" not something worth redemption in the end but making her more understandable.
Or they will made here just evil.

If this was a supernatural anime, where Ai had some kind of superpower, I could believe that she drives people insane just by talking to them, or being sexy, but this isn't that kind of anime: so her shtick just comes off as unbelievable and confusing.
The interrogation scene in ep 2, she was genuinely intimidating, because the way she was messing with the MC's mind was a lot more realistic. But now the story is desperately trying to amp up her scary factor, and it has the opposite effect. At least for me.

That doctor scene turned this into ok boomer: the anime real quick lmao. I expected to find people here who interpreted that as blatant rape culture, but there was a heavy implication there's more going on here than "Magase is hot and makes me want to fuck" -- that there's some sort of manipulation of hypnosis at work on Magase's part.

But until Magase is actually convicted of something, I'm granting her character a pass.

I definitely get the Johan vibes, though.

What ??
You should watch full episode to know why magase do this

I don't know, the whole "I got horny, it must have been her fault" thing really pissed me off... It reminded me way too much of guys saying "if you're wearing those clothes, you're just asking for it"

So yeah, didn't see the whole thing, but just from the doctor's story, we're just one step away from full on rape culture

Yah. This episode was terrible (to me). This show would fail the Bechdel test. They made the villain a woman, so ofc she has supernatural sexual powers. And then they blame her for their emotions. We cant have an evil female character without making sex her weapon. Wtf. Yes, there’s Hiasa Sekuro, but she’s the only woman in a room full of men. Sigh.

Yeah, not gonna lie, that was also one of the reasons I dropped the show xD I'll even take token side female characters over none at all...

I'm betting this was inspired by "Monster," since I see strong resemblance. I'm guessing she was experimented on or something, unless her "perfume" is just natural but supernatural. Hmm, in his thirties but still doesn't have a proper sense of justice developed? Talk about a late bloomer...
