i frickin LOVE how Tanjirou told Nezuko to deal with the other demon, believing in her abilities and not being so overly protective of her like many other cliche main characters. He knows she's strong so he doesn't try to deal with everything himself, he is willing to leave part of the fighting to Nezuko instead of protecting her the whole time just because she's a girl.

It's revealed after the ED that the two demon villains actually met by chance on their way to attack them and they didn't know each other beforehand. It's curious how well their teamwork is with such little to no time to practice.

Visually really great episode and I didn't have as much trouble with the flow of the fight as some others.

The fight is gorgeous and still a pleasure to the eye, but it was hella light on story, I checked the manga and it baffles me that they still don't understand that action focused episode should adapt something closer to 3 chapters at least, because the animation alone can't make a fight exilirrating, Bones understood that with MHA and they're nailing every fight, even when they're very talkative ones.

Still a good episode.

Tanjirou is toooo fucking cool! Does anyone else find him similar to Midoriya? For me it's the way they're both try-hard heroes and both use not only their physical but mental strength too. I love badass characters that are mad smart!

This weeks episode also showed how visually beautiful, fluid and exciting the combat scenes in this anime are and i'm sooo here for it!

Some really nice bits of animation here. Also the CGI models finally get their chance to shine along with a 3D camera. Good stuff.

This was pretty good. I wasn't expecting the fight to last the entire episode. I mean it's not even over yet. Tbh it's pacing was probably a bit too slow. I woulda preferred a little less standing around dialogue. It was especially awkward when Nezuko crashed into Tanjiro and they had to scramble to get out of the way of one of those ball attacks. Really she coulda barraged them with balls that moment and probably fucked em up real good. The flashback/replay after the mid episode title card didn't help. But hey, what they did show looked quite good.

Good episode, that was cool to discover 2 new demons with unknown abilities. Though I was really annoyed by the re-use of scenes we had just seen (beginning scene is ok, but I mostly refer to the scene where Tanjiro cuts the girl's arms & then asks Tamayo about their possible link with Kibutsuji).

Anyway, a good episode dedicated to a fight, so quite entertaining.

Good episode. They definitely stretching it with the 2 chapters per episode stuff. Had to use the flashbacks and even the slo mo multiple times to flesh it out. Still it was good.

This was the first episode I didn't like. These villains look so one dimensional and the Temari girl is annoying af. The part of the fight when they're in the house is so unrealistic because it's more like the balls are evading them rather than the other way around since they're barely moving.

The way Tanjirou defeated the arrows demon saves the episode a bit.

Who was the demon in the city Tanjirou was assigned to kill? Certainly not Kibutsuji, then who?

As they said long ago in forums pages this series has a serious problem in terms of its narrative and the handling of its scenes but in this chapter it is slightly better because the use of 3D in the background was well noticed apart from that his characters all took a more active role, however, I feel that this series is anticlimactic on many occasions and I will tell you why:

1.-The only characters that get hurt are the demons
2.-Abuse a lot of cuts of scenes but that feels untimely
3.-And, of course, there are the great breaks between characters

Obviously, it makes up for it with the soundtrack and its visual section, but at times these problems become very noticeable.

I've never been interested in One piece, but what's its current episode count? It's an entirely diferent beast, right? They have to stretch it for as long as possible.
KnY have a limited number of episodes, so they should work differently.

Maybe they had a guest co-director from One piece for this episode, lol?!
It would've been much better if they added more scenes instead of repeating stuff that happened seconds ago.

I enjoyed the episode, mainly goggling at the art and animation (including the CG which I almost never say). I agree that the pacing was strange as the dialogue was oddly positioned.

The worst was when that guy went invisible, staggered the six-armed lady then revealed himself to expressed how he was very unhappy with her, instead of just ripping her head off whilst she was down........ That lowkey pissed me tf off but yh.

To be absolutely fair, season 1 of Hero academia adapted 1 chapter to 1 chapter and half. even slower than this. Only in season 2 they started 2 chapters, and season 3 started 2 chapters and 3 chapters per fight.

Susamaru and Yahaba proved to be powerful opponents, Tanjirou and Nezuko had a very difficult fight to control, especially by the strange demonic technique of Yahaba that controls the direction of things.

The part in which the temaria ball destroys Yushiro's head was brutal, but it was even better when Yushiro's head began to regenerate, that was amazing and very well done, and the best thing is that it was explicit and uncensored.

The combined attack of Susamaru and Yahaba is quite problematic, but Yushiro manages to make things easier for Tanjirou, but when Tanjirou uses that water breath technique to destroy all the temari balls and incidentally cut the six arms of Susamaru it was incredible.

Nezuko again resulted in a very good support for Tanjirou, besides those small moments of brotherhood that are reassuring in this tense fight are welcome.

Tanjirou's fight with Yahaba was great, Tanjirou despite being at a disadvantage, after analyzing his situation, he manages to counter all the attacks of this demon, but the combination of water breath techniques, resulted in something great, especially because Tanjirou was able to give a deadly cut to Yahaba.

This episode personally was great, no doubt the combat scenes were very good, the animation, sound and soundtrack made this fight very dynamic, there were its negative details such as repetitive dialogues or flashbacks from previous episodes , but outside of that, this episode was defended very well, especially when I saw that they used CG, which turned out very well.

The fight is pretty cringey imo. Especially the Breath of Water Third Style part. That's exactly where sounds will prove critical. They just use quick animation showing the water dance with exactly no bgm which makes it weird.

But on the other hand there's one good moment when Tanjirou got chased by those 6 balls. Good camera movement there.

Also this one choked me hard xD

Yushiro is such an annoying ass I wish he didn't regenerate!

I'm loving the animation coordinations, Tanjiro's water style visuals along with the main visuals make a really mindblowing modern animation. I really loved this episode and as always I can't wait for the next episode. It feels like a short anime the way I enjoy it, because it ends while I'm still hot on it. Great action-packed episode. The animation was outstanding as always.

Tanjirou was having a hard time against both Susamaru and Yahaba but I'm glad he managed to beat the most troublesome of them in the end.

I also agree with those who mentioned the odd pacing but honestly, it wasn't really a big deal.

Anyways, looking forward to the next episode.

Did you even watch the anime? It said that demon can only be killed by cutting it head with a sword made from a special material. A gun do nothing since a demon just can regenerate, even if they make the bullet from the same materia, i like to see you try to cut someone head off in 1 shot. Also that demon throw a ball that hit like a cannonball, what gun can compare to that at this age.

very intense and engaging episode. this series is one of the very few I actually desire to watch more! the mixed 3d/2d was fluid and really impressive. one of my roommates asked "what is this god tier animation?!" (he was jusst walking by but ended up sticking through the episode even though he has no idea who anyone is or what the series is about). I honestly thought Nezuko was going to pop-off at some point when tanjirou fails to get a good opening in. but then i am kindly reminded that nezuko is the weaker of them all since she does not feed off human blood.

im hoping to see more yushiro. turns out he's not as weak as he comes off. he seems to have a variety of skills and i wanna learn more. if tamayo was the one who turned him into a demon then im wondering how much of his power is inherited by her, if any of them are at all inheritable. And im wondering exactly how powerful tamayo is herself

This is Japan in the early 20th century. It not the US, very few people have access to firearm. Demon also stronger than normal human, can regenerate, have super power. Why should they even bother with going through the trouble to obtain human weapons?

If I remember correctly they already started to adapt 2 chapters and more per fighting episode in season 2, 2x10 is 2 and half, and 2x16 is 3, but I agree that the first season was definetly not a model pacing-wise.

The Demon Hunters are faster than bullets. They have been trained to use breath to enhance their physiology to be fast enough to dodge the demon's techniques. The demons have magic and supernatural abilities, why should they bother with weapon of lowly human who they only see as food?
How do you know those temari are slower than bullets? Anime and manga usually slow things down.

There was a lot of action in this episode and all of it looked great on an animation stand-point. Not only that, but the 3D CGI used for some scenes also looked really good and combined well with the 3D camera work. Again, ufotable really knows how to utilise CGI in their action. =)

Thanks to the Taisho Secret segment at the end of the episode, it was revealed that the two demons, Yahaba and Susumaru, both only met each other for the first time on this very mission of theirs. In such a short time, it's surprising to see hoe well the both of them are able to sue their combined powers so effectively.

Yushiro was able to assist Tanjiro by giving him the seal needed for Tanjiro to see the arrows that directed the temari balls, but Yushiro did sound like a hypocrite when he had a go an Tanjiro for not seeing the arrows when Yushiro himself had his head ripped off by the classic case of element of surprise. Idiot... ¬_¬

Tanjiro also had full trust in Nezuko as gave it her all in this fight, but sadly, she's temporarily lost her lower right foot for the time being after she tried to kick the temari ball away from her.

Once Tamayo helps her recover, I'm sure that Nezuko and Yushiro will sort out Susumaru in the next episode, even if it means dealing with Yushiro's annoying personality again. XD

That flashback explaining obvious things to fill in time...

Explaining every single motion in the battle down to "my sword is heavy but..."

Is this made for 8 year olds or created by 8 year olds?

Jesus Christ do I wish this budget could have went to another show because it's making me roll my eyes.

This plot, directing, dialogue, characters, and everything but art + animation is garbage tier. Maybe even below garbage tier... This is Sword Art Online level of bad MC + every "demon" is the same exact overconfident boring character.

Agreed with all 3 points. Multi Arm Demon from Final Selection had so much personality and backstory, that Temari and Arrow pale in comparison.

This city seems to be crawling with demons including the big bad. So just when is Tanjiro's assignment here supposed to end?

"Rumors of a demon lurking there" was a huge understatement! Then again, poor information and bad orders seem to be a theme with the Demon Slaying Corps.

I got really mixed feelings from this episode

As always the animation is perfect (and the CGI ! It's the first anime where it looks good and doesn't bother me) and the OST is gorgeous

However the dialogues kinda ruined the tension created by the fight(s) and slowed down the rhythm of the episode
I don't mind dialogues and speeches, even in a shonen, but certainly not during a fight
Plus the enemies gently waited while they were talking, the balloon girl could have thrown a lot of balls during their discussion and the arrow guy didn't show up in the fight until later in the episode

Besides that, that was a really great episode

and Nezuko is soooo cute in each post-ending scene *w*

It never stated but i think the Ball Demon was supposed to be Tanjirou target. She relatively young and haven'fully develop yet since she only use her physical strength and not Demon Blood Art ( Demon will eventually gain Demon Blood Art after they develop enough) so we can guess that she just became a demon recently. Muzan there probably still there after turned her into a demon to observe. When he want to Tanjirou death,he call the closest demon in the area, which are those 2.

Also don't worry about the 12 demon Moon stuff, they are like bosses scatter accross the journey, give Tanjirou a smaller goals so that he can develop and grow stronger before go for the Muzan.

This episode has me worried. With multiple instances of low quality CG versions of the characters(really low for ufotable, anyway), an unnecessary drawn out flashback followed by a complete replaying of the 10-15 seconds of footage before the flashback, along with a few more instances of moments from literally less than two minutes before being replayed, this doesn't bode well.

With what a standout episode the last one was, it's a shame too.
