After all these years, the ride's finally over...

All in all, this was a great manga. Great characters, great worldbuilding and great story. My one complaint would be the final arc. It dragged on for too long, there was barely any foreshadowing to Hole's existence and his defeat was an anticlimax. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was just underwhelming by comparison.
This final chapter though was executed perfectly! All loose ends tied up, a satisfying epilogue to all the characters (especially regarding Ebisu and Fujita), and an overall feeling of satisfaction.

I would've given it a solid 10/10 if it wasn't for the Hole arc, and by the previous chapter I was considering an 8/10, but the final chapter made it a solid...

What a shame that Mikaido and Kaiman didn't develop love interest. I would love to see them happily kiss each other while reopening the gyoza shop.
Another one good manga came to an end, respects to Q hayashida for a great story and unique style.

I thought the last arc dragged on for a bit too long and there was bit too much ass-pulling in it. Plus, I felt that some characters didn't get a proper send off, like Shin.

Still, I have to say that the manga had a lot of great foreshadowing, world building and characters. Because of that and the sheer uniqueness of the setting, I have to say that this manga is one of the best I have read in a long time.

Where the hell can I read the final chapter? I can only find chapter 166 and I'm about to punch a hole in my monitor out of rage...I wanted to finish this right now...

Edit: Alright, so I found it. As far as final chapters go, this was pretty good.

Unfortunately the entire final arc was REALLY weak and left me with a bit of a sour taste. Hole-kun ended up being a truly awful final boss. The arc felt way too shonen-ish and didn't really fit the overall atmosphere of the manga before that.

Still gets an 8/10 from me. Enjoyed it immensely despite a disappointing final arc.

Yeah the last arc was didn't really fit the manga's overall tone, dragged for a while too with random chapters. Still it had really some good foreshadowings before, one of the more interesting and fascinating worlds created in this medium, quite a few fun, quirky characters who developed during this course, and decent bits of black humour. Was a really enjoyable read more or less.

Honestly I liked the last arc, Hole was a good idea imo.
However I don't really like how all the crosseyes literally are dead forever, I would have like to see them resurect with En's family.

Spot on analysis, it's exactly how I feel and graded it at the end. A great ride.

Som of us complain a lot about the lack of originals in manga and anime, but you know what. That's what Dorohedoro is. The art, quirky characters and wicked blend of gore and humor make it pretty unique in these "self insert" light novel times.

Look forward to reading this authors work

What a ride!
I read it in 18 days and I really loved it: the athmosphere, the characters, the blend of humour and gore...I do agree that the last arc dragged too much but the final chapter was satisfying.
I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

I have nothing against gyoza-kun, but seriously, was Kaiman's magic a gyouza wand?
Another thing that seemed last minute to me was the real magic of Shou and Turkey being a woman, though she had boobs so that's fine, and several other things.

Leaving that aside, I liked the magic of Nikaido, the time travel, the true identity of Kaiman, Kikurage, Ebisu, Thirteen, Jonson and the rest.
It took a long time for the end to arrive but it was worth the wait. I think they all had a good ending.

I enjoyed reading this manga. I liked the weird humor, the art, and that the plot was well developed from the first chapter.

This is, without a doubt, a manga that I would recommend to those who are looking for something different.

Man what a unique manga. 9/10, some weird pacing and some characters that couldve used more development to toe a bow on thier stories. This woman draws the perkiest boobs. Also Noi puts me a full mast, 10/10, her and Shin need to be happy together forever. Chota and Chidaruma were both delighys whenever on the page. This final chapter did feel a bit like a “alright wrap it up!” whixh we’ve all seen in countless manga.

The anime for this is gonna be so borked, there’s no way they are gonna get the world’s grimy detail and tattered characters right.

Honestly... an overrated manga.. was looking forward to it getting finished, since it was marked as seinen and had so much hype over the years.. claiming it was unique and such..

It wasn't bad per se, but unique does not mean great and especially does not mean masterpiece... it's just that, unique, not cliche..

The overall plot was actually great and original.
Characters were great and distinguishable. But how it all plays out was rather meh... one of the most terrible mixes of comedy and seinen I ever saw as well.. couldn't get much worse than that even if you tried hard.. that feeling when author throws some jokes in serious moments of the story and you are like... oh, I guess I am supposed to laugh here, eh...

It felt like someone behind the scene gave masterpiece setting to some novice comedy mangaka and that's what we ended up with - dorohedoro.

A very weak 8/10 because it really had much potential to be good... but heck, almost anyone could make those series better with a setting that great and unique, which ultimately just adds more to the frustration.

it was too jumbled imho... while mystery, world building, and and comedy was actually nice, the rest is just sometimes doesn't fit each other... the plot allure also often quite back to back that it hardly make sense, and sometimes make character bizarrely inconstant at times. since this is not a systematic fighting series, i don't care much about fight, but nothing exceptional either.. the art is unique and amazing tho. i rise my rate from 6/10 to 7/10 just to appreciate that...

seriously, it has soo much potential, that sadly in the end simply felt flat and uninteresting...

Liked the gopnik adventure aesthetic, but the last third definitely overstayed it's welcome. Crucial characters like Shin and Noi were relegated into absolute obscurity and Hole revived a million times before finally going down with the help of Unlimited Gyoza Works and the thickness of some lizard skin plot armor.

I had a really thrilling time reading this overall and despite how confusing the chaotic shambles can be at times thanks to the Crosseyes, Kaiman's multiple personalities, and the Hole, I enjoyed this manga very much thanks to the very interesting setting and absolutely Endearing characters!

Some characters had very satisfying conclusions like Ebisu and Fujita while some had conclusions that could've been more satisfying like how Shin and Noi should've straight up said their feeling for each other. The same can be said for Nikaido and Kaiman but the important thing is that all the dangerous business is finally taken over with and everyone's happy ♡

Nice to have a satisfying final chapter. The story was flawless to me for a majority of the manga.. Very unique and well thought out plot + masterful world building. But around when the department store sank it started to get a little confusing and full of ass pulls. The final fight felt underwhelming considering how badass the 'final boss' was too. The arc was full of great ideas, just spotty execution imo. It always remained entertaining though and that's what matters most.

Looking forward to the anime, have no idea how any studio is going to be able to pull it off though lol.

A pity indeed that mangaka was not up to the task to end the story with the same quality as it was up to that point. I agree with others that the final battle was simply too long and somehow random, without giving a prior clue or development of the story that would lead to the end as it was.

On the side note, can anyone tell me what exactly did Kaiman drop to Dokuga and Tetsujo?

All in all, it was an enjoyable read, although I found the gyoza magic to be an ass-pull. I mean, it's definitely within the tone of magic and devils being able to do whatever the fuck they want, but it still feels a tinge cheap nonetheless. The fact we don't see any solid Shin X Noi happen or Kaiman X Nikaido happen feels pretty bad too. The overall closure we get isn't very rewarding. Why you do this to us? Also, the cross eyes didn't get resurrected which sucks, RIP Natsuki :(

Overall, it was still a fun read, so the entire thing is a solid 8/10— but the final arc for me is honestly like, a 6/10.

Overall, I think it was good. It has been awhile since I've had passion and care for a manga story and I think Dorohedoro hit a lot of good parts with the characters, world build, story and just that nostalgia feel that brings me back to reading the Akira manga or watching old scifi anime. The grittiness of this is something we don't see often in anime/manga today and it stands out over all these Isekai story's and harem stuff. Unfortunately, this has been out a min, so why the hell haven't I known about it earlier? lol

So with that, there are some cons IMO that downgrades this story and (dare of say) made me either skip or skim through a lot of chapters.
1.) love the world building and all but the author puts wayyyy to much out there in the story for us to chew on. The history behind said characters and areas is good but it seems to take up too many chapters. Not to mention we already are trying to wrap our brains around Aikawa/Kai/Coleman/Kaiman. If it wasn’t for the Anime to break down this story and (I think) scrap some parts, then I probably would have a hard time digesting everything to make it make sense.
2.) I don't have issues with nudity in general, but after a while it became a distraction. Not to mention, we hardly see the men with nudity as much as the females. justsayin
3.) The end boss was forgettable. It could have ending way before holey lol. It became very gimmicky and didn't make sense on the actions of some character choices. Also, the balance between serious moment to funny didn't connect with me.
4.) The endings that were dealt to the characters was on a scale of so-so to downright terrible. Particularly the cross-eyes getting the short end of the stick. You can tell the author was just rushing with the end of course, but still, the cross-eye characters filled out a lot of good moments in the story.

Pros or appreciated bits..
1.) Shin and Noi
2.) Nikaido is badass and her fights are amazing
3.) We need more hype for Dokuga, he's the best all-around character; smart, agile, can switch to assassin mode real quick, underneath is kind w/ a genuine concern for things, and basically played detective throughout most of the story. I thought he was going to be the “Sasuke” of this story and be a cardboard cutout, but the author really put effort in him; just sucks he has a crappy ending working at the Hungry Bug after losing his “family.” But anyways him and Tetsujo is alive, so there’s that.

Other than that, I think we def need the anime to return with more episodes. There are way too many good fight scenes later in the story that we need to see animated.

I read it some days ago and the first thing I can think of that I think of this ending is that I think it's nice that it was a happy ending I was a bit worried it wouldn't be at some points. But in a sense it was a sad ending since so many people died but it seems the Dorohedoro world will be more peaceful after this so that's good. It's nice to see En back to work although he was certainly very cruel at times.

Definitely the most unique manga I have ever read. Beautiful worldbuilding and very consistent setting.

I wouldn't think everything would make sense in the end for a chaotic story such as this, but it did. Every panel was drawn to build-up the story and it was done masterfully. Except, Tanba gang and Kirion (author's self insertion?) felt unnecessary.

Caiman/Aikawa is such a lovable character. My only complaint is the chapters he was missing. Those chapters felt boring. But in the end he was the one who saved the worlds and I am very happy about it. I wish he could get is Aikawa face back tho.

Really impressive that the author worked on this alone. I felt like the story could have been told in a shorter span of time, but the goofy parts and side bits had a lot of charm. I liked the ending a lot. I find so many long running manga end with this sense of being cut off or wrapped up too quickly. Dorohedoro concluded really nicely. However, it was very clear from very early on that Hayashida Kyu was very attached to her central characters. From about volume two I got the feeling that none of them would really die, which inhibited some of the drama a bit. Also, some of the spells and magic was awfully convenient, but because the series has this sort of kooky vibe it kind of works. Despite some shortcomings, the world imagined makes it all worthwhile.

This shit would've been a masterpiece if it ended like 60 chapters ago with a good conclusion, Aikawa should've been the final villain, this whole "Hole" plot dragged & ruined everything. shit felt like a Naruto ending.

Even the characters who were the best thing about this series became dumb, boring & useless.
also everyone getting killed & revived every 2 chapters & the devils/chidaruma being in this arc treating it like a movie set for comic relief killed any tension this story had left.

the first 90 or so chapters were so good tho that it pisses me off that it got wasted like this smh

Re-read the entire series physically after buying all 23 volumes, and the expenditure was worth it. Definitely one of the craziest, wackiest but most entertaining manga I've ever read and the artstyle's also one of my favorites too. Just too many great characters and fun twists to enjoy with each and every chapter and the ending was solid too. I gave it a 9 after I read it the first time, but it's definitely a 10/10 for me now.

Hole arc was a bit meh but still a 7/10 for me. I'll definitely give this a 9 overall.

After being 130+ chapters in the dark and kind of confused the clear up near the ending of the manga was so good, and made the whole story even more enjoyable.

What we found out this series:
1. GYOZA IS THE BEST
2. Dorohedoro is one of the most unique manga out there
3. Q Hayashida is the GOAT
4. Dorohedoro means mud-sludge (doro-hedoro) or mud-to-mud (doro-he-doro)
5. Caiman's real identity is CAIMAN!!!

THAT'S WHAT WE FOUND ABOUT IN DOROHEDORO
Everything goes back to chaos
That is Dorohedoro

THE END
