----------------------------------------
I'm glad that at least this time we're getting the normal amount of pages. Not sure what went down with 356 that they split it in two.
As expected, this chapter is with Griffith finishing off the giants. I'll update my thoughts once the translated version gets released.

UPDATE: Now that the threat of the giants is gone, I wonder where the story will go next. Back to Falconia? or maybe on another front? They mentioned that this was at the eastern front, so maybe there are other fights/conflicts going on somewhere else? or even better yet, back to Casca and Guts? But I doubt about the last one...

Decent chapter in all honesty. Still think it was a bit of a kick in the balls to switch to the band, but we should be back to Guts soon. Absolutely no idea what Griffith's planning...

Quite a good chapter, seems our Miura is back with the full amount of pages!

Can we get back to Guts and the gang now, rather not spend time seeing how being with Griffith is a "living legend"

Griffith <3. Absolute hero destroying those giants, protecting his kingdom! Who would have thought that he was actually quite humane!

Thought it would be the case that they can use the tree branches to travel the world quite quickly. It rings of bad news for the Guts squad and Elfhelm. I just want to know where we are in the story, because Griffith can't just go to Elfhelm and that's it; Miura spent so much time on Falconia that it must be important in the latter parts of the story.

It was decent. The art was top notch as always and this time Miura delivered something interesting regarding Griffith's side. I am sure this'll play an important role later on I guess.

I'm thinking that maybe Sonia and Griffith might not be the only ones who can travel with the sky tree. What if someone helps Guts and his party get on and cut the distance to Falconia? I doubt anyone wants him getting on a boat again!

Miura is setting this up so we get to see humans hating Guts when he finally shows up to threaten their beloved Hawk. He's the beast to Griffith's beauty.

Next episode, Casca finally?

I've mentioned this before, but I still have my doubts that Griffith is "protecting" anything. From the translation I read, it sounds like this was more of an invasion and conquest on the Band's part (the bearded soldier says something about "expanding their territory," and while they're traveling the world tree someone says that they "subjugated the giants"). Griffith basically murdered an entire army in this chapter that we, the readers, know nothing about, except that they died defending their land. He didn't even give them a chance to surrender.

On a different subject, I wonder if only Griffith can lead armies through the world tree because he is a Godhand. It is somewhat worrisome to think that he can now sneak himself and Apostles around and be back before anyone realizes he was gone.

Yeah I was being sarcrastic about Griffith. We know he holds no attachments, especially as an incarnated form of femto, and that everyone and everything is a means to his end, whatever that may be.

Griffith...these chapters where he is taking care of his Kingdom...and how his armies are getting more Loyal and more fanatical towards him....fills me with mixed feelings....and especially now when they can (or at least Seer and Griffith can) use the World Tree Branches....Mixed feelings because....They are awesome chapters and we see how things are in Mainland....

Other Hand...This is F*king Femto we are Talking about...Member of the freaking God Hand... I am quite willing to believe My brother's theory that they are just fat-ting up this Kingdom with People...and in the end....Griffith does the Second Band of the Hawk Eclipse....this time he just Sacrifices Entire Kingdom to Behelith and the so called God that God Hand Serve...50% sure that When Guts returns and they fight...Griffith makes that choice.....and the other point why I have mixed feelings...

Guts is Seriously going to Need a FREAKING ARMY to even get close to Kill Griffith...unless he is going to be Suicidal bastard...welll he might have those Bakiraka and Rickect in his side before it happens...

I guess I wasn't explicit enough (or at all really), I was more reffering to Griffith's smile being so innocent and luring me back to the old days before he was a rapist murderer falcon demon, that everything almost came as a shock despite having read and knowing about it all for the better part of 3 years now.

This chapter made me even more suspicious. I remember the cherry tree being the last ominous shot in the Casca/ Guts reunion. We know that these spirit woods are connected to the astral realm, and now we see more trees connected to the world tree and some warnings about wandering off unsupervised and ending up in who knows where.. I just keep thinking that either 1) Griffith or some members of his army will accidentally wind up in Elfhelm or 2) people from Elfhelm near the cherry trees will somehow end up in Falconia. Many months have passed since I speculated that (hiatuses etc) so I might be forgetting things tho

Good chapter. Nothing groundbreaking but still better than the troll fight imo. I'm still not a fan of Miura's recent artstyle, his panels are all gorgeous but recently he has been drawing the characters' faces too childlike and it's strange. I wonder what will happen next, if we don't go back to Elfhelm maybe we'll see what's up with Rickert lol

It was interesting to go back to Griffith's point of view again. The as always was on another level. It was interesting to see Griffith using the world spiral tree to transport himself and his army back to Falconia. Keep in mind Moonlight boy can do the same as well. Curious to see how Griffith plans to use the tree in the future, and what did they mean by Sonia having some kind of power to travel on it? Still waiting to see Casca and Guts again.

Nahhh, Eclipse only happens every 200+ years. No way we're gonna see another one unless Griffith can make a pseudo eclipse or something like that.

Every time I see Griffith and his ridiculously loyal followers, I want to puke.

They have no idea that he's Femto. They have no idea that he sacrificed his comrades to gain that power. They have no idea that just to be an asshole he netorared Guts.

I wonder what they're all going to do when the God Hand shows up to eat them all.

I think this will all build up to a grand war between Griffith's Kingdom and a resistance force led by the Danann and Guts' crew. I also predict that there will be a great dilemma as to what Guts should do, if he would push through killing Griffith for the atrocious acts he did or let him and his kingdom prosper, as they are doing good acts and is literally what sustains humanity's survival and prosperity (also enforcing peace between Apostles and humans).

Is retribution for Griffith still necessary? He has built upon arguably the closest thing to a perfect kingdom for humanity and apostles, especially given the situation of the world. But it has been built upon thousands of corpses and that sacrifice of his comrades, just like that one sequence during the Eclipse.

It's kind of nice to see other parts of the world now that a chapter in Guts's arc is finished - hope to see Rickert in coming issues. Still it's weird seeing all these soldier bootlicking over Griffith, not knowing what he really is. The dramatic irony is real

That's the whole point though, Griffith is supposed to be perfect at everything at this point. That's why everyone in Falconia adores him. To them, he is basically like a God-King who can do anything. He threw away his humanity a long time ago, I don't know why expect him to suddenly have flaws of one.

I think the important distinction is that we, the audience, know that Griffith isn't really perfect. We know all the terrible things he did to become "perfect," and it's not pretty. Sooner or later, the facade will crack, and his loyal followers will either see him for what he really is or get thrown under the bus just like his last band of loyal followers were.

I don't really see his demonic companions throwing him under the bus though. They'd likely be stoked with him being femto. The others... Well, their city is full of nasty demons yet they don't seem to care. I'm not really sure whats going on to be honest.

So you think that he'll continue to be perfect until something happens and it'll get a terrible and climactic end to how he's being perceived?

I personally think he'll be like he is until he faces off with Guts and they both die in the fight. The end.

Oh, I didn't mean the Apostles will throw Griffith under the bus. I mean something will happen (something to do with Guts showing up, I'd wager) that will cause Griffith to throw his human followers under the bus. I'm pretty sure the Apostles already all know that Griffith is Femto and will stay loyal to him until the end.

The humans think that Griffith has tamed the Apostles and is keeping them (i.e. the people) safe, that's why they're okay with it. They simply don't realize that their safety is not real, since it is completely contingent on Griffith's whims. In their case, ignorance truly is bliss.

I have several theories on how Berserk will end, but my current pet theory is that Casca will be the one to kill Griffith.

That's actually a pretty good guess. Having been defiled by him in his Femto form, maybe she can touch him ina physical sense in which Guts cannot.

It'll be many, many chapters before we get there though!

Mule and Laban got to enjoy the wonders of their very own Fast Travel system courtesy of Griffith and his pet psychic, Sonia. He might have her teach the others magic for them to use the touchstones eventually and she'd have no choice but to share her little bond with the Hawk of Light with everyone else. Either that or she becomes the errand girl lmao

Even if the reason was the words hawk and falcon having the same kanji, I personally prefer that they called the new group the Band of the Falcon because it really fits the "pretending to be the same but is actually completely different" idea.

Well, I finally catched up and I'm pretty sure that the waits will be agonizing from here...
