This show is not good for my heart. I know I said I like how this is not censored and I still do but seeing Riko's face flowing with blood is just painful to watch. Anyway, that bunny finaly appeared.

So glad that the anime follows through with the lethality and horror of the Abyss. Finally shows you how dangerous it truly is.
Loved this episode.

That scene tho. The darkest episode of this series (i hope). Finally the "hollow" from the op and ed appears.

I've seen tons of gore in anime and stuff that shows stuff like that but it's been quite some time since I've felt such agony and despairing sympathy for a usually happy character. As the situation only gets worse for Riko and Reg, my chest tightens at the sight of her arm snapped and partly chopped off while she bleeds everywhere and the young robot helplessly trying to ease her pain...

Nanachi making her debut at that very moment is enough to compensate her lack of screentime and make her a main character. I'm very glad she showed up but the raider equipment and whistles give off a pretty ominous vibe. ED proves otherwise but yeah lol

So, WHAT EXACTLY IS A HOLLOW?

The series ruined it by saying that her arm can be healed. Deus ex Machina at its best everyone.

I am still pissed off at Riko cause she didn't account for these scenarios at all. Besides, her mom is a bitch for not informing her of her condition and never coming back up to save her daughter. Whatever. If Riko's arm was cut, I would have bumped up this rating to maybe 8/10, but I hated the Usagi's god intervention and the small excuses for its dungeon being away from the curse

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death.

Gotta say, i was kinda annoyed that the journey into Abyss that kills hundreds of people and scares people like Ozen was pretty easy for Riko, who has no idea how to fight and Reg, whose psyche is not that strong. Now they've run into real trouble but Hollow ex machina saves them. They seriously need to take several levels in badass before going further or it'll look completely unrealistic. I mean, Reg doesn't even know what CPR is.
Also, i'm so goddamn grateful that this show doesn't have moments like "KISS? NO WAY!" and similar stuff in their interactions, like when Riko clings to Reg when he uses his arm to descend and so on.

Oh wow, I knew things were gonna get really nasty at some point, but didn't expect something so sickening this sudden! It really took me off guard, didn't see scene this cruel coming, and I've seen tons of gore manga and anime already, lol.

Nanachi seems pretty cool, and we even got her singing in the ending song, yay!

Meh, I expected this type of shit to happen, the blonde girl had it coming, she was pretty stupid and selfish in going on the most dangerous journey which is the bottom of the abyss with no fucking weapons, she knew there were monsters and creatures that were going to kill them and what does she do? she goes without weapons anyway, pretty stupid if you ask me so I didn't felt bad at all when she was almost killed nor when she almost lost her freaking arm.

The forced emotional scene afterwards felt way too cringy for my taste, they were trying way too hard to make that scene impact-full and for me it just failed horribly, I find forced emotional scenes extremely cringy and cheesy. I like the emotional scenes that are subtle, not forced.

Jesus man...
Easily the best episode so far. I'm gonna have to start reading the manga after I finish this.
Honestly, initially, I was kind of upset that they made it out of Layer 3 so easily. I was afraid this show was going to be all happy throughout the whole thing.
Finally, it's starting to feel like how a little child would survive in such a dangerous place.
The bugs heading for Riko's body was so brutal, and when it first showed how bad her hand was, I was actually pretty shocked.
The (subbed) voice acting was some of the best I've heard in a while. Especially from Reg. That scream, man. Big props to Mariya Ise. She nailed it. I legitimately thought it was a male child crying his heart out. She nailed it.
Overall, this anime has been quite enjoyable.
Also
I have to give a shoutout to the painted backgrounds this show has. Why doesn't every anime have them? It was easily the best thing about older anime. You can tell a lot of love has been put into this show. Good for Kinema Citrus.

This was the shocking moment? The mangaka has a passion for loli characters/kids, so I guess that's not common.... I'm honestly more disturbed by the uncomfortable scenes there are of children before this.

So. She says the monster can pierce steel so he doesn't attack it. And then they have the brilliant idea to use a shield to block its attack? Even though the loli just said it pierces something as hard as steel? Then the loli of course is pierced in the hand. So they show us the loli bleeding through all her orifices and the robot has to cut her hand. She almost dies and then a furry loli suddenly appears and tells robot to breath to make the bleeding stop (or was it to bring her to life?). And of course the furry loli can also save her arm! And don't forget as well that the furry loli's house is immune to the Abyss curse. How many plot armors to save the useless loli? Oh, and the robot forgot the backpack for some reason. This anime is pretty mediocre tbf.

I had a feeling something terrible was going to happen when the episode started off with all the talks about poison and curse but holy fuck... seeing it actually happen is just a different experience. This was very hard to swallow. For the past episodes, it seemed like it was all too easy journeying through the Abyss especially since Reg is such a handy companion. Now, they've truly unleashed the worst the Abyss could do to you. Things finally start getting threatening. This was such an intense and emotional episode.

My only problem is they forgot the fucking backpack.
