| I suppose they just really like girls that pull a male character out of a boring, seemingly purposeless life, even if she's a dangerous demon who's liable to lose control of herself and kill him as a result. I suppose it's an open question whether a long, dull life or a short, 'full' life is better. |
| I think there are three main reasons (other than the "fan service" she provides) that people, including myself, like her. 1. Her mysterious personality- There is a lot we do not know about Zero Two and being such an interesting character, we are always dying to learn more about her and her backstory. 2. Her relationship with Hiro- This is such a strong relationship in terms of their obsession for each other. Once we got that flashback with the children's book, even more people latched onto the bond between the two characters. 3. Her unique background- Every character from the squad came from just about the same place and have been influenced in the exact same way. Seeing Zero Two and her much different upbringings and personality thrown into the mix makes for some very interesting episodes and a great story in general! |

| Easy to answer. Girls like for example Ichigo are fairly standard, and heck all of her traits you could most likely find in any real girl, i.e. fairly common. If you don't have a girlfriend, I suppose it might be what you are looking for in an anime as well, but otherwise these characters are very bland and boring to watch from my perspective at least. Zero Two is much more exotic and exciting for most guys, because she has personality traits that are rare and her looks are also probably better than your average anime character. She stands out, whilst characters like Ikuno, Ichigo are fairly common designs. Most male viewers don't want real-life characters to be reflected in an anime character, but rather see complex, mysterious and plain dangerous characters that they wouldn't ever see in real. Not that weird to be honest. |

| Being honest, don't get your opinion in a twist, I think Zero Two's a character that only works for specific people She appeals to many for her personality if that wasn't obvious, and there seems to be... a lot of those people who care a bit too much As much as I don't care about the fact that she has a backstory that might only last for a little while, everything aside she's an okay character I don't find her likable myself. She seems much like a Yandere-Deredere personality that is hard to work out right and I don't think it's executed perfectly, but it's fine. That's all I have to say |
