If that's true, then I suppose 3.4k is acceptable since it'll be 23 episodes.

24 episodes because it would include Kibou-hen (The initial reason why I thought Zetsubou-hen will be 12 eps. instead of 11 (very final volume of DVD Zetsubou-hen had 12 eps. total)).

As expected. The storefront presence (as in the degree of underestimation on Amazon Stalker) is roughly the same percentage as with Love Live! 2nd Season Vol.1.

@tsubasalover

Did the rules change or something? I remember that live concert discs were included within these lists, as in the 5th Love Live! concert was included last year.

You don't need to be a rocket science to know that the Japanese are the ones that decide whether or not a show does good. What exactly was your comment supposed to do? This is an anime website that reports news and the such. Me commenting saying "I can't believe Sunshine sold that much" doesn't mean jack all at what you're trying to say. You must be new because this happens on every sales thread, and every thread possible revolving around sales.

And fyi, I don't care what the Japanese fans think. I'm saying what I think. There's a big difference.

Because the previous one on its first weeks of sales sold 82k: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1206999

I expected way lower sales seeing as how this series was just inferior in every way—in my opinion. My opinion may not affect what the Japanese think, but it's still an opinion. Usually, people who guess what will sell aren't wrong. The LL popularity is just big in JP. It's pretty easy nowadays to know what will sell—Gundam, Love Live, and so on.

Edit: I forgot to take note that this is a Special Edition. The volumes afterwards most likely won't sell as much.

For me, I agree that Love Live! Sunshine was not as good as the 2nd season of Love Live!, but I don't think it was inferior to the 1st season. All that drama near the end of the 1st season was a huge turn off for me, and I expect that was also the case for the Japanese fans.

While, it is easy to tell what will sell, it is hard to sometimes gauge how well. It is all based on expectations, because Gundam used to sell many times higher than what the most recent seasons sell nowadays. For Love Live!, it isn't that hard as you can use the CD sales as a basis and can reasonably assume the same storefront underestimation will occur for Love Live! Sunshine. Since it had a Amazon Stalker estimation of 49.5K, then I expected Vol.1 to sell around 68K in week 1.

Yes, the sales will be lower for the later volumes, just like with Osomatsu-san, UtaPri, Idolmaster, and all the other anime with event ticket serial codes bundled on volumes, but again we can use Love Live! Season 2 sales as a basis, and assume Love Live! Sunshine will still average above 50,000 in the end.

Limited Edition is what the majority buy, while the Regular Edition is for people who don't care about bonuses/want to save money. The Regular Edition for Love Live! is kind of equivalent to a DVD would be for a different anime, except it is still BD quality, rather than the inferior DVD quality.

5.6 k for Mob... Hopefully it's good enough to get a second season
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

It's not like Nico solely lifted up the sales. And I'm also considering the established fanbase into the equation with the addition of the final live's success.

Blu Ray + DVD
*9,917 *9,917 Macross Δ Vol.3 Limited Special Edition

Sizeable increase on volume 2s sales, can only think it's because of the (incredible) ending to the series, that or theres an event ticket or similar bundled with it. Either way great sales for the first week. Couple with a strong opening for Walkures second album and it's a great week for Macross.

Blu Ray + DVD
*6,452 *6,452 New Game! Vol.1
*5,396 *5,396 Accel World: Infinite∞Burst Special Edition
*3,716 *3,716 Masou Gakuen HxH Vol.1 Limited Edition
*2,556 *2,556 Amanchu! Vol.1

Fab to see New Game! selling well, Accel World sold more than I thought, likewise Masou Gakuen HxH, happy with the latter especially. Glad to see that whilst there is no noticeable LN boost the BDs are not bombing at least. Shame Amanchu! didn't sell much more though.

I can't believe Sunshine got 66k sales+ despite it being so much worse compared to the other Love Live. That's idol anime for you...

More like power of the love live name cuz any other same idol probably wouldnt sell more then around 10k~20k^^ but else ye comparing it to the 1st one it feels like some bad copy just too much similiar shizzle and then ya just cant help but compare every little thing. Well it aint the last of it surely 2nd season coming and probably a 3rd season then with new cast where i really would hope that they use some different story instead of saving the school and prez being against idol stuff on start etc would be kinda lame to watch almost the same thing for the 3rd time then xD

But still, I like Sunshine <3

The enjoyable part of having a new group, is witnessing how far Aqours can go. This video I linked just shows how phenomenal μ's' journey has been, having started out with just 434 copies sold for their 1st single to over 151,000 and counting for their 2nd Best Album Best Live collection.

Even the venue progression was phenomenal...

● 1st: Yokohama Blitz (1,700 capacity)
● 2nd: Tokyo Dome City Hall (~3,000 capacity)
● 3rd: Pacifico Yokohama (5,000 capacity)
● 4th: Super Saitama Arena Arena Mode (27,000 capacity)
● ASL: Super Saitama Arena Stadium Mode (37,000 capacity)
● 5th: Super Saitama Arena Stadium Mode (37,000 capacity each over 2 days)
● Final: Tokyo Dome (55,000 capacity each over 2 days)

And also, both days of the Final Live was watched live by 150,000 people total in over 160 theaters in Japan and over 60 theaters overseas. Aqours has a lot of work to do, but I hope they can make it to the end-of-year invitation only NHK Kouhaku, and also a live concert at the Tokyo Dome. Aqours actually revealed in one of their live internet shows near the end of April, that μ's Final Live was the first ever event that they went to together as a group, and were incredibly touched by the experience. Many of the Aqours seiyuu were already fangirls of μ's, having seen all the PVs, the anime seasons and the Movie, and are using μ's Final Live as motivation for their future activities as Aqours.

Every volume of Re:Zero has increased in first week sales so far. Nice to see it could actually average over 10k for the entire release, especially since the best was that 13-18 episode.

The whole LL phenom is lost on me. The show itself is really is not anything special.

You already know the creators of it are rubbing their hands like Birdman right now.

And once again, the Love Live domination begin.
There are other pretty gud sales tho

Joker Game still surpring me with these sales. Oo
Also Pretty gud start for New Game !
Kinda hoped that it was better than this for the sales of Mob Psycho but it could have been way worse. Combining with the DVD it makes some nice sales i guess.

Japanese idol otaku never ceases to amaze me lol

It perfectly proves why Sunshine's design choice works though: just copy paste all the things because that way the original LL's diehard fan base are guaranteed to go just as crazy for this too

Anyone surprised at these sales hasnt been keeping up with sales.

And yeah Love Live Sunshine is better than the first season. Anyone who knows anything about anime can tell you Okada's writing is shit.

That's not the magic m8. Tho it's probably not the best comparison, here in Indonesia, mostly the newer part of LL fanbase ordered Sunshine BD, older fans still wait until they can decide whether Sunshine worth the pennies and most of them rather spend their money on their u's fav. Older fans buying the BD most likely because of some bonuses, rather than they liking Sunshine diehardly already.

Yeah same here. Don't get me wrong I like Love Live, I enjoyed both LL and LLSS but I don't really see anything special except the music.

It would be the third season. And no, such sales are huge flops.
first season sales didnt warrant a second season either.

sales dont = sequels. also most SJW series benefit from manga boosts get sequels rather than BD sales.
