Please note that the anime licenses are for home video release; simulcast acquisitions for Summer 2016 can be found here. This post will be continuously updated as more licenses are announced. >Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood for Aniplex. Didn't FUNimation already have the rights for this show? Looks like it expired. Wonder if they can make their subs any better with their released, but probably will be x3 the cost. Gintama for DVD/BD Released? Sign me the fuck up. |

Yen Press got Rokka no Yuusha, about time honestly. Someone grab Grimgal now. :c Did Vertical ever announce the results of their 2017 license survey? CR doing physical releases now too, nice. Wonder if they'll start doing manga as well. |

A dub of Gintama can only crash and burn horribly, just look at how the English translation of the manga went, way too many obscure cultural references and Japanese language wordplay to ever work in a dubbed format without butchering the source material. Even in subbed format on Crunchyroll the episodes are flooded with translator's notes, so I can't imagine being able to do that with dubbing. Should've definitely just continued what Sentai was doing and skip dubbing it at all, saves way more money and effort. |

ichii_1 said: Crunchyroll is gonna kill Funimation at this rate, funi better start fixing their problems for their own sake. I really fucking hope they kill FUNi, they already seem to be kicking them out of the simulcasting business... I think they've only licensed 3 shows this season and two of them are shorts. I could be wrong, though, but that's what I remember seeing. (Fuck FUNimation tbfh.) |

I guess this explains why Funimation has not been having so many good titles in there line up and pretty much getting the boonies anime...Crunchyroll has practically taken over them. Well actually Funi has not really been getting all that much good titles anymore for the last couple of years. Crunchy has already pretty much established itslef as the tope tier streaming site in the western market and with it releasing its own dvds/nlu rays they have chance to become a big player in the market. i wonder how sentai will be effected by this too. |

I thought RnY may be a proper chocie for Yen press, but since they didn't pick it last year at the same time as Overlord, I thought they would ignore that possibility. That's cool to see they picked it up. |

OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ROKKA NO YUUSHA Just 2 weeks ago I tweeted Yen Press asking for RnY to be licensed ;u; The anime left off with a real cliffhanger, and I wanted to read the story more than anything, but not by reading it online. I wanted to support the author, so I kept praying that Yen Press would take it up. Ah man I'm legit close to crying. BEST.WEEKEND.EVER. ヾ(´▽`;)ゝ |

And so Yen Press pick up yet another series that I just have to read. I love it guys, I really do (especially with how good Rokka was and how little we got in the anime), but can you please slow down a little? My wallet's going to die if this keeps up. |
