Murciélago

Murcielago is hard to describe. It's got sex, gore, violence, lesbians, and more. Somehow or other, Murcielago manages to mesh all these things together to make a pretty crazy but entertaining read.

Story 7/10
So far, the story has been interesting, with new developments occurring with each case. Although the story is mostly divided up into "murder cases" there are plenty of strings that connect and foreshadow plot points to come. Not much has happened yet, but it's been a good setup and entertaining so far.

Art 8/10
For the most part, the art has been smooth and rather straightforward. What really stands out however are the character designs. Each character is well-drawn and well-designed.

Character 9/10
The characters of Murcielago are what makes this manga stand out. The two main characters are as you would expect, both insane, but in their own unique way. The enemies that our main characters face are, of course, also insane, although not many of them can match our MC's. In contrast to the main cast and many of their enemies, are the police force. The level-headedness of the police officers and their way of handling of the same problems that the main cast face are interesting in their own right.

Enjoyment 9/10
All of the fights and crazy driving sequences were lots of fun to read. A lot of the comedy was focused on the MC's girl-eating tendencies, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Overall 8/10
Interesting characters, good art, lots of action and comedy with a ton of insanity mixed into it. There are better manga out there, but this is something worth reading.

What do you have when you two cops, one is a lesbian with huge boobs and totally crazy, the other a derpy spazz who's also pretty crazy and also a lesbian. You have this wonderful Manga!

Story 9/10: The story is set up basically like a police case, random pyscho or freak causing trouble, and our heroines have to kill them. I find this set up interesting, we always get to what kind of messed up fucker(s) they are up against and it's always interesting. Despite all the brutality, blood, and occasional (hot) lesbian sex scene, this manga is surprisingly really funny.

Art 9/10: The artwork is very well done. The gore is drawn well, the characters are drawn well, and the scenery is very well drawn. Best perhaps are the insane expressions some characters make, they look great, you can feel the crazy.

Characters 10/10: All the characters, from our crazy leads, to the psychos they chase, and the levelheaded cops who have to keep it all under control, are all interesting. I especially love Kuroko, she is insane, a huge pervert, utterly immoral, and her random gag of pulling things out of her cleavage is hilarious.

Enjoyment 10/10: Weather it's the depravity of the pyscho killers, the lesbian sex and pervy jokes, or just the humor in general, you will be entertained. This manga is a fun read, and enjoyable ride.

Overall 9/10: A great manga, I always look forward to updates just to see what sort of madness is up next. If there was more yuri I'd probably give it a perfect score but it's a good amount of yuri nonetheless. Highly recommend this manga.

Please....please be easy on me It's my first manga review on this site. Anyways Most of the other besides the main lead characters are pretty forgettable or dead (if you are a villain). The best thing about this series is the art from the design of the main character Kuroko and cute moe girl Hinako and how it handles it's blood & gore I forgot to mention this series has a LOT OF IT. Including Lots of fanservice including lesbian sex (hey the main character is a lesbian after all). Most of the problems goes to the pacing of the story. Why because if the series gets canned it will be just a bunch of short arcs that lead to nowhere. I hope it doesn't get canned and gets and anime (I don't think so due to the sex and extreme violence in this series). I highly recommend this series for those who like action, LOTS OF BLOOD AND GORE, fanservice and lesbian sex, and pure and dumb fun (just wondering the high enjoyment level).

I felt that this manga was a train wreck from the start. The plot didn't interest me, a lot of the characters designs were incredibly hard to distinguish and had almost nothing going for them in the story.

This series heavily relies on using lots of blood/gore and sex to try and keep the readers attention, with every arc starting with some kind of lesbian sex scene and ending with a huge blood bath. This can be fine if the style of the drawings are unique and cool and the things that happen are so over the top that you can actually like it (Rule of Cool).

However, the character designs fall heavily into archetypes, the style of drawing is too similar to every other anime style, and the all the "cool" stuff that happens comes off as contrived and stupid.

It also tries to the weird Quentin Tarantino-esque, out-of-chronological-order style of story telling, which I feel is something that can only work if your characters are interesting and endearing and everything actually ties together in a fascinating way (which doesn't describe this series).

In short, I don't like Murcielago. Read something else (like Berserk).
