I don't really like "racing" since there are anime focused on automobiles but don't compete such as Porong Porong Pororo. Lol so my motorsports is out too--I guess "automobiles" or "motor vehicle" would be better. Then we'd alter the genres for competitive anime to have automobiles/motor vehicles + sports to indicate Initial D, Oban Star Racers, and Scan2Go. While leaving just automobiles/motor vehicles for anime with just leisure (Porong Porong Pororo, PES: Peaco Eco Smile, and our anime in question Bakuon). Then automobiles/motor vehicle + action for stuff like Master of Torque which focuses on motorcycles but doesn't focusing on racing. Cycling fits in more with regular sports since you power the "machine" with your body like ice skating, rowing, and archery IMO. |

| It is. It's consistent with everything else in the database. Romaji in general looks awful, but if you're gonna use it, you have to make allowances. 魔法使い should probably be one word, sure, but every other entry in the database uses Mahou Tsukai, so I was going for consistency. |

IMO it's not a notable rank. Last time I talked with a mod it was supposed to be "director" or "producer" or something equally as big; not just any ranked professional. That exact Title is the one given for production assistants at Toei, they just jazz it up with a fancier name. There's a wiki page about the different Titles they use for the assistant role. I believe this is why Salmon-chan was rejected from the DB as that was the only role it's director got in a "big boy" professional setting with a real big boy studio. Animation schools aren't considered animation studios. This is why senior thesis reels of graduating seniors who use fellow classmates and resources of their animation schools aren't in the database. We'd be drowning in them if they were. Some are in our database because they were submitted to a film festival notable prize or they made with heavy influence with a person of notable rank professionally (ex. Project HAL). |

| Can't seem to find the specific guidelines as to what justifies an anime split, but I think One Piece (http://myanimelist.net/anime/21/One_Piece) Should be split between 0-516 and 517+. With the two year gap, change in art style, and overall dramatic change in everything, I think it justifies being separated. I feel currently it's too hard to score because of how different everything is after 520 and it's so damn long it makes it even harder. Honestly though, I feel MAL should consider doing this to a few of the longer animes to allow for better scoring, better reviews, and finally allow for people to choose "Completed" for animes that are going on forever. |
