| As someone who does watch quite a bit hentai, I think it's a bit of a mixed bag. Personally, I do watch a lot of hentai for erotic romance...which is something that you RARELY find in mainstream (or not so mainstream) anime. Think about it. How many romance anime have you seen that have either a sex scene or an implied sex scene (aka. some sort of scene where you didn't see the characters did it, but you KNOW they did it). For as much romance anime as I watch, I can only think of a handful that have (ef-a tale of memories comes to mind). There are some hentai I do watch for comedy as well. I will say that it is hard to find hentai with good drama (dark drama). There are a lot hentai that try that, but fail miserably. I will say that I haven't seen very many really good hentai lately. A lot of it nowadays just feels like wank bait with no substance whatsoever. |
