Two main complaints with it were the engrish and Yayoi's lack of screen time. Only decent scene she got was her shooting the back end off that car.

I'd like a follow up or wrap up of the series purely because I want to see someone finaly drop kick Shimotsuki in the face. Preferably Yayoi, 'cause it'd hurt that much more coming from her "onee-sama".

Errr why don't they just make a spin-off with Ginoza as the main character. I will rate it 10/10 no matter what, I swear.

Ginoza shooting Kamiya Hiroshi's character made me lol, I was pretty excited about bishounen rivalry building up.

The movie is decent. It wasnt disappointing (most importantly), maybe because season 2 sucks so bad. I love it when kougami dropped his cigarette hearing that han would likely be elected chairman again lol. Poor kougami. Just when he thought that he could rest for a while.

The makashima scene was kind of inappropriate though.

Meh, this didn't push the overall plot in any meaningful direction. Felt like pointless filler. 7/10

This franchise has been at a standstill since season 2. Guess I'll just consider season one a (awesome) stand alone from now on and won't bother with possible future Psycho Pass content.

Awesome Movie!

Since everyone is saying it, DAT ENGRISH

The reunion scene between Kougami and Akane was pretty badass! Also, Akane still does that whole "light a cigarette but don't smoke it" thing. She reaaalllyyy misses Kougami huh?

Kougami/Gino tag team too stronk

Needs more Yayoi/Shion

Mika please.

Season 2 only used to introduce characters seen in movie CONFIRMED

A wise decision. I think Psycho-Pass simply really need a new direction if there will be any sequel. A completely new staff might help.

This movie was okay, but still disappoints me in that it didn't wrap up the series. I'd be willing to watch a season 3 if it means that we'll get some closure, but I've been slowly regretting that I've ever watched this series in the first place.

The Sibyl system needs to go. We've seen what good it can do to protect people, but also the sacrifices that need to be made in order to do so. Seeing the city in the movie where people wore collars that decide their life made me uneasy, as if they were living like dogs. In the beginning of the movie, Agane's friend ends up getting married because the Sibyl system told her who was COMPATIBLE for her. I feel this is not as bad as arranged marriages, but extremely close to it. On another note, I've seen way too many innocent people die, and most did only because they were victims and their crime coefficient became high (ex:that slaughter in season 2).

The Sibyl system reminds me of the government & police in Demolition Man and Minority Report (both great movies). At least in those movies the people see through it and why its wrong to have them.

As for Mika, I don't like her period, but not to the point where I want her killed...yet. I gave her all of season 2 to redeem herself, and she hasn't (especially after that brain scoop she authorized in the movie). I feel like theres a reason the writers keep her on, and not just to beome a character people can hate. Maybe it will get to a point where she finally sides with Sibyl and becomes a main villan while Agane and the others will have to take her down eventually.

Great movie, exactly what I wanted to see after finishing season 2. Can't really point out something where I thought it shouldn't have been there or it to be better executed, yes the English voice acting was a bit too much but apart from that I don't think I could've asked for more.

Now all that's left to do is to wait for a season 3 announcement..

Ma boi Babangida repping Naija.......for like 2 seconds.

It was pretty much what I expected, although I feared Gino wouldn't get a chance to do anything. Glad to see Shimotsuki is still there to keep things annoying. The end felt like a token to make it look like Akane accomplished something. All in all, pretty good.

The action was okay but that's where it really ends.

They are going to milk Psycho Pass drier than dried mushrooms.
In case someone hasn't gotten it yet: Sybil is the baddie. Its basically a dictatorship ruled by the brains of maniacs. Our main character knows this and yeah that's about it.

What seriously annoys me is that the entire(!) world is just civil war chaos, except of course Sybil controlled Japan.
Well that's just plain stupid.

Finally had some time to watch this film. Sure it's not the best I had such a great time watching it. I really enjoyed the action scenes the most and seeing Kougami interacting with Akane again was really nice, especially their first reunion/re-encounter. So Sibyl ended up being the main villain after all, which at this point isn't so surprising but still a nice twist. Seeing the colonel getting blown up and seeing his guts on the floor was gruesome though, damn! The mercenaries the colonel hired were pretty badass but all the members just randomly died except for the leader which Ginoza and Kougami took out together; that was an awesome moment. The Engrish in the film was pretty cringeworthy at times but it wasn't that bad.

Overall, I loved this film and who knows we might see a some more Psycho-Pass in the future. Akane x Kougami forever~

Two series and a movie and Akane is still as naive as she was at the start. The Sibyl System has shown her time and time again that a) it's not perfect and infallible as it claims b) it will straight up lie to accomplish it's goals and c) it will break Akane's precious laws whenever it feels like it. Yet after all this SHE STILL DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It's beyond infuriating.

At this point Akane is basically just as guilty as Sibyl, despite the writers trying to paint her as a conflicted hero. She's just a naive, unchanging dumbass living in a dream world.

...

I find your view rather strange.
Akane has been an accomplice to Sibyl since the end of season 1 since she believes society needs the system, that's a fact... I mean, the entire season 2 establishes how she becomes Sibyl's keeper, forcing it to evolve rather than fighting it. While I imagine that the majority of viewers prefer a rebellion a la Kougami, that's never been Akane's objective.

I did find her naivety annoying though. She should be smarter than that. In any case, it's not like she actually does nothing.
She convinces Sibyl to hold an election even though it practically has SEAUn in the palm of its hand. This forces the system to take into consideration the will of the people which was seen as unnecessary. By taking on board Akane's suggestion despite having no obligation to do so at all, it is again evolving its own methods of operation.

Waaaay better than the shitty 2nd season that shouldn't have existed.

It finally shows how the world outside Japan was, and it did a better job at portraying a grayer point of view of the Sybil System than the show could. The script wasn't particularly amazing and the villains were laughable, though.

You know what? If they're gonna make a 3rd season, I hope we get a prequel... as in, how did Sibyl start? We saw in this movie how the countries without Sibyl is. So what made Japan special? Why did they alone think up a method that would give them at least some sort of peace?

Wow it was an awesome movie, it surprising to see again Kougami, the reunion between Akane and Kougami was nice. The Kougami's point of view was interesting and thanks to him, Akane was able to help the country.
The action was well done, the first scene with all the dominators and the fights with Kougami were the best.
Once again, Akane saved the situation with her sense of the "justice", the habitants were given the choice and they chose to use Sybil

Great movie, I am waiting for a season 3.

I think a lot of posters are completely missing why Akane hasn't tried to dismantle Sibyl or blown the whistle in SAEUn.

Akane knows Sibyl operates purely by logic. That makes it both efficient and predictable. She has seen its flaws first hand and has made that clear to the system at every opportunity. She doesn't try to brute force her way into revolution or jeopardise her career and health through open rebellion: she uses logic and reason to draw Sibyl's attention to its contradictions, flawed logic and harmful policies.

That's the entire point of her confrontation of the Chairman. There was no need for violence or rebellion. Simply words spun from logic and reason would suffice because that is all Sibyl requires for its process.

We, the viewers, are convinced this isn't enough, that the system is evil and needs to be done away with. Fair enough, but that is our perspective as observers. Akane can't know for certain whether the system is a necessary evil or not. After all, Japan is peaceful and prosperous because of it. Because of the system she found a career that truly fulfills her. Notably at the start of the movie, her friend even found the supposed love of her life through the system.

And now Akane has seen the world outside of the system with her own eyes, and that experience has simply reinforced what she had been told and read: that the world outside of Sibyl's reach is wartorn, impoverished and chaotic, mirred in violence and desperation.

It is easy to judge the system as evil, but that would mean to turn a blind eye to all the good it does and greater evils it circumvents.

Akane knows this, but she also knows that for all the logic there may be in the world to support and justify the Sibyl System's existence, humans are different. Humans are driven by more than logic and deductive reasoning.

That's why, after the end credits, she says there will come a time when the Sibyl System will be truly tested. Until that time comes, we likely won't know for sure where she stands.

One thing is fairly certain though, Akane has understood this since the end of season 1, which is why she remained on board in season 2 and carried on working for the system in this movie and will likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Akane and hot should not be used in the same sentence.

She has to be the most plainest main character I ever seen. She doesn't exude sexiness at all and in fact just comes off as completely average.

Pretty much how I felt about it.

It was good to see Kougami and even if he was only a brief hallucination, Makishima. At least overall the plot and character behavior seemed to be more rational than S2 . But good god, the Engrish was out of control. Not only was it terrible for the most part, but it was all too frequent. While I got used to it after awhile, It was still quite distracting. 7/10

Bizarre Engrish Between Asians [x]
Low-average TV budget, complete with gaudy CG [x]
No plot progression [x]
Character stagnation [x]
Filler[x]

Considering S2 has killed the series dead and this was the last hurrah, with Urobuchi back onboard, it was a total waste of time. It was ALL totally inconsequential 1D dictatorship vs. nice guy rebels bullshit. Nothing was resolved or taken forward. NOTHING.

There was a chance to present Kougami as a 'villain' set on bringing down Sybil. Y'know, carrying on from Makishima in a twisted way. His ideals vs. Akane's. Instead, Akane quickly determined he was still TOTALLY NOT A CRIMINAL after murdering Makishima due to him helping out those poor oppressed rebels, and he apparently has no intention of stopping the system. And Akane? Still stuck in place from S1: 'You're wrong, but I dun wan responsibility, so I'll keep supporting system.' Bitch, please...

I LOVED how there was random exposition about how THE ENTIRE WORLD outside of Japan is a warzone without Sybil. Ok, then. One way to justify it.

The whole film had a Naruto movie feel. The fights seemed ham-strung by the cheapness of the visuals and the whole 'KouxGin' tag-team fight was pure fanwank. Also: military trained goons sent to Japan were slaughtered by local Japanese police, whose job is to police a controlled society. And Kougami is the only one with sniper hax. Power-levels all over the place. Akane even kung-fu'd Kougami, FFS.

Series should've ended with S1's powerful ending. That had meaning. The writing was on the wall when Urobuchi didn't write S2 and it just copied S1 badly. No ideas.

PS: Why was the random anime black guy assassin the final boss?

I liked this movie a lot more than I expected! Really enjoyed it!
I wish this had gotten the 11 episodes instead of S2 tbh, haha. But even as a movie, this was great, and I thought it flowed quite well considering that it all had to fit into a single movie.

I loved seeing Makishima again, albeit it being a short scene, and I really like how it was shown that he still has an influence on Kougami, as he's the one Kougami ended up hallucinating about. Seeing Gino and Kougami fighting side-by-side was awesome as well!

Also, this actually made me like Kougami more than before. I'd been a bit concerned at first that it would end with everyone- including Kougami- just being okay with accepting to be part of Sibyl even after seeing its major flaws, or at least coming to a resigned conclusion that it's the "best" option. So I was really glad that this isn't what happened, and think it's awesome Kougami remains apart from Sibyl to the end. I also appreciate that Akane, although still loyal to Sibyl, at least prioritized the rights of the people over the system, and wanted the people to have a say in things. I was disappointed with her after S2, but I don't mind her as much now.

Even though the movie's a bit open-ended, I think it's a good type of open ending. I didn't mind Season 2, but it left me with a sense of dissatisfaction and like there were more questions brought up than were answered- whereas, this movie left me feeling satisfied. So much so, in fact, that I'd be okay with this being the conclusion to the series.

All in all, this movie had some of the charm that made me love S1 as much as I did, which I personally felt S2 completely lacked. It feels more like the true sequel to the greatness that was Season 1, and I really enjoyed it. All the English was kinda amusing, lol, but didn't detract from the enjoyment imo. I like this movie very much! 9/10

The plot's awesome though. I love how they illustrated the world outside, emphasized Sybil System's influence (+ weakness) and Akane's strengths. A lot of throwback scenes to Season 1, and a (love?) triangle forming between Ginoza, Kougami and Akane. Surprised Kougami came out alive, and most of the Sybil conflict occurring outside Japan. Shimosaki Mika is basically a Sybil drone with a name. 0 development for her, as well as for most the enforcers.

Also that ending, did that kid mistakenly killed Kougami? Or it's a metaphoric scene showing how Kougami won't return in the future (unlikely if he's alive)? Judging from the last line, there will be a season 3/second movie to wrap up the show. Looking forward to it.

Aahh, here comes handfull of delicious engrish! :D

But wow, their portrayal of dystopic and totalitarian society in SEAUn's Shamballa Float was pretty good. One certainly gets shivers when seeing that. Parallels to current oppressive regimes in the world can be clearly seen and so is the warning what our society could become and how much of our own freedom are we willing to sacrifice in exchange for our personal safety.

One can only think about value of human life and morals of everything they were doing. With decent music and animation they made sure that the war they were showing was far from pretty. If they wanted to evoke such feeling of uneasiness while watching this they made a good job.

I also like the conversation Akane had with Sybil in the end. I guess she will never cease to attempt to guide the system into correct way of thinking. Ultimately, nothing has changed but they managed to set a mirror to some of the most controversial things out there. And from aftercredits scene it seems they are not done with Psycho-Pass just yet.

All-in-all it was very good conspiracy thriller that raised some burdensome ethical and philosophical questions. A lot better than whole mess of the second series but that's not to be surprised about when Urobuchi was doing the script here.

What's sad is her Cuntness was what stood out the most in this whole movie lol.

As a side note I find it pretty funny that people living in a war zone actually have clear crime coefficients at all. After watching Season 1 and 2 it's pretty clear that the smallest little thing can tip a watcher over the edge. I was king of disappointing that Sibyl didn't just kill everyone when the robots were fixed lol. I can only imagine that the reason why the army could so easily tamper with the scanner robots was because Sibyl allowed it in order to prevent exactly this from happening. After the wars end and the crimes slow down Sibyl probably would have fixed the scanners and did a clean sweep of the city to eliminate the remaining bad guys. Still disappointed though.

Don't think Kougami was killed at all. The bullet would have had to curve. I think his reaction is either because the boy's actions show him that the fight is long from over or that it is ending soon. Ending because the boy can not shoot the gun correctly and has obviously had no need too. Or long from over because yet another child is going to have to learn how to fight.

This was a really entertaining movie. Of course I'm a big fan of S1 so I am a little biased. That aside it was exactly what I expected it to be. One reason it was better than S2 was because it wrapped up the nagging cliffhanger of whether Kougami will return in any capacity after S1. Throughout S2 in the back of my mind I always wondered if Kougami was going to appear, even though throughout the season it was clear he was not coming back for the season. But after watching this movie I can appreciate the homage S2 is to the gritty dark feeling I got when watching S1, albeit in a lessened capacity.

In retrospect I feel this is a spiritual second part to S2.

Anyway like I said in opening, it was an entertaining movie. The action sequences were well shot, the OST really added to the feels of S1/S2, the story progressed rather naturally and didn't feel forced, Akane has become a really likable character imo. She's really grown from S1.

But just as S1 and S2 ended, this ended in quite the same way. Sybil is quietly spreading, and the cat and mouse game Akane is playing with Sybil is only becoming larger scale. The end game hopefully is Sybil's Global control, at which point it will be put to the ultimate test of it's true worth.

Will we see this finale in a 2 hour movie? or a 24 episode series finale? I hope they wrap it up soon preferrably in the 24 episode format, so they can take their time with it, meanwhile I hope it doesnt get dragged on.

I have to admit though that Kougami's return was less impactful in such a long period of waiting.

Why my ship still isn't canon?! xD

But... anyway...
I love it!
Animation was perfect as always, sasuga IG :D

Story was interesting and Kougami *.*
PP is really the best when he shows up! *.*

Makishima Shougo = Sakurai Takahiro get small screentime in movie,
but I really liked this part :D

HiroC and his english xD
I can't >.<

I wish there was more KougamixAkane moments!
Damn it, I ship them so hard, but they are so eh... -.-
This ship is so painful, like... I can't even... ;(

I wonder if this was tv series this would be as good as movie...
Maybe anime quality was little weaker...
but... I want more! >.<
Give me more!
I need more!

Anyway...
Good job, Psycho-Pass :D
You pass :)

Really good action. Decent story, but good visuals and ost's.

I didn't see S2 but god damn was Shimotsuki fucking annoying. I didn't know here character so that might've influenced my decision.

Would like a final movie to wrap up this series properly.
Big Order (TV):great anime or greatest anime?

I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie.
Though, I find the engrish really awkward. I understand since the setting of the movie is outside Japan, but can't they just use Japanese?
As time passes, Akane is increasing in bad-assery. Hahahaha.
Ginoza....... *drools*
I don't recall Shimotsuki being this annoying. Even though she's wiser, her attitude is more arrogant. Why doesn't her hue get clouded yet?

Not sure if I would want a continuation though...
