| What's the deal with Japan making Archangel Michael feminine in every anime haha. I could swear he was even a woman in Bahamut. The scene when succubus walks in on those two homos having sex was hilarious. And the part when Maria createc the incubus without a dick. Pretty fun episode, guess the main plot will kick in next episode, with all the "virgin hunt" thing. |

| This episode was way better than the first one, we finally get into the main story at the end. So far a 8/10. Nice animation, plus good use of Succubus/Incubus demons, actually doing their job not like other anime. |

I think there's a problem with describing people in this series as enemies or heroes. I see just normal people, be they villagers, mercenaries or soldiers during times of war. There will be good ones, bad ones, good ones that might turn into bad ones, maybe some actions will be justified some not, plenty of cases. The villagers were the victims here but they were about to brutally kill the mercenaries in the same manner the mercenaries might've wanted to kill them. Justified self-defense it would've been but whose to say some of them wouldn't get a taste for it? Who's to say that those bastard mercenaries weren't victims of such atrocities themselves once and went from victims to ones to victimize. We don't know that, Maria doesn't know that, although the divine beings such as Micheal probably do, hence their very objective view on the world and decision not to interfere. "When their eyes heal, they'll likely attack another village." Maria defending her own possibly sent the mercenaries towards another. Also, the very fact that the mercenaries attacked in the 1st place could've well been that she interfered with numerous skirmishes between France & England, the mercenaries didn't get paid and sought to compensate for that. That's what Micheal was talking about when he said that she disrupt's order. I'm not saying I think she was in the wrong in helping her own, even if it was at the cost of others(whether she was aware of that or not) and I think that's the best you can do sometimes, but I can see his point too. It's ANYTHING but black & white. | Maintains high expectations, this narrative is pleasant mix of contexts serious and less serious but not untrue. The plot did not deviate much from the last time but with the final twist, maybe something will change. Not bad the drawings, good Op and ED. |

| This is one badass show, breaking a lot of boundaries, only broken on more "adult-themed" animes (namely hentai), but in here its treated with more maturity and humour than most ecchi and borderline-h shows. I like where its going. Beside, that scene with the snake that Maria summoned after she saw "that" when trying to complete her male succubus was priceless. | Wow they are not holding back on the homosexuality and sex comedy :P I enjoyed the episode nonetheless because it's different from a lot of the series :) I seriously thought Maria was gonna lose her powers then and there, but the arrow shot by Joseph to Michael is deep :D |

Angels do not have free will, they never ate from the tree of knowledge. What you are seeing is purity in action, it is supposed to be scary. The writer is certainly capable of complexity, but I would be curious to see how complex this becomes. Basically Maria is tampering with free will, she is imposing HER will through magic, granted she does it for the good reason, but that doesn't make it any less dictatorial or for that matter right. This comes to the question of why God created a world with evil and pain in it. The answer is that both are needed for humans to have free will. Life may be unfair, evil and pain may waylay us, however how we respond to this evil and pain is up to the individual. Greater challenges create greater opportunities. If God were to interfere to help the good and punish the evil, then god would be loading the dice and humans would cease to be capable of determining their future, rather they would be responding, much like some lab rat, to external stimuli. As for the owls, don't forget that the incubus decided he wanted to become an incubus, he expressed his free will on that matter, what happens after that is the result of his decision. I am sure Artemis was the same way: she decided to become a succubus, and now she is only doing what a succubus is supposed to do. As for Michael. His responsibility is to defend humans right to free will. Hence allowing humans who decided to act evil and be mercenaries and stopping Maria from imposing her will with supernatural powers IS his job. Now that said, I am curious where this is going to go from here. There are some pretty heady ideas floating around, there are only two ways this series can go. One is the boring way, that the writer is going to have a "good makes right might" which would be boring, or the writer will do something interesting. Please. If Maria is abusing her power then the same goes for the mercenaries etc. Mara is a witch. Not a godly out that world being. She is living in that world so she has every right to act in that world. The angel is the one that doesn't have a right to interfere. I bet if she was some evil witch the angel wouldn't bother. That the asshole attitude God seem to take. When someone overpower evil does something God is all "you have to save yourselfs". When the powerful one is doing good, then his all "i must punish him/her". Also why God created that world with pain suffering etc? Well since we are talking about a world where a God clearly exist(since we have angels and shit) then there must be heaven and hell. So he want the world to have bad things so he can judge. He uses the world as a courtroom and basically doesn't give a shit about how awful life may be because the years of life are indifferent to him. So no, it's not that he cares about free choice etc. If he did then he wouldn't even demand to be worshiped or judge anyone. XD Well I mean it seems like she knows what it looks like now at least ... :P Artemis being hilariously awesome again too :3 Didn't expect Archangel Michael to show up though! That certainly got things a bit more intense ... interesting what he said about the "natural order of things" and how Maria wasn't helping it. I mean she's only helping out of the goodness of her heart though, but still, food for thought. They kinda do battle, and he's gonna get rid of her powers until ... Joseph shows up and shoots him! I would've expected it to go right through him TBH, but I guess it's good that it didn't :P (Real) ED was pretty good this time around ... again, nothing really special. It seems like the ending card is gonna have the characters appear as they're introduced and stand next to Maria though :O New charas coming up again next episode! I thought that mercenary from last episode (Gaffa ...? Galla ...? Started with a G I think D:) was gonna be important and he was pretty cool, but I guess I was wrong :P |
| this episode... if you're suppose to just stand and watch the world kill each other, I would rather be on the side of evil, IE: Witches Michael saying the other villages and what not being attacked and saying Maria is doing nothing. But that just makes God/Heaven/Michael look bad in the first place, because they KNEW about it but isn't doing a thing about it. While Maria only sees what's going on around her and is DOING something about it... It's like in RL, if you see someone being attacked by another, do you 1) Stand there and watch like Michael/Heaven/God wants you to 2) go in and try to stop the attack 3) runs away well?... which one seems to be more good? lol... that's why I hate how Churches/God always make people think they're doing good, but they're not. (evidence? bible) also Wow they are not holding back on the homosexuality and sex comedy It's all true tho... why do you think a lot of people/ media likes to make fun of this? | Good episode! Artemis is one sexy succubus! Would want to have her for one night :) Lol homosexual has always been rampant in christian/catholic since the first generation. And it hasn't stop, and will not stop at all. Maria being Tsun Tsun towards Joseph XD Lol Artemis trying show Maria the nature of the male body! Michael is one scary Angel! He does have a point on how life should be left alone without any divine interventions. He even knew those villagers would get right back at those bandits once they had the chance. Michael does look like a Claymore! Which is quite funny considering Kikuko Inoue voiced Miria from Claymore and they both look similar in terms of appearance and voice mannerism :) Can't wait for the next episode! It's slowly getting better! |

| An interesting anime that seems to direct itself towards making folks think about religion and how we view/deal with it personally. The familiars are funny and the art work is very nicely done. The plot has enough"edge" to make some uncomfortable with the way that religion is woven into the plot. It isn't a boring high school harem anime that seems to be everywhere. |
