Not really surprised, I was expecting that. Personally, I think it's good that it ends here with everything settled in order to avoid dragging out later.

Although, this may open up the pathway for a conclusive second season with the anime to be picked up. Here's hoping.

It was more or less expected. I have mixed feelings about this, but seeing the source material end of something that is relatively good or better is never a sweet moment.

I hope they announce a second season though in the very last chapter.

Oh God Finally. They were dragging it for too long, I don't hate the manga, but the story recently became boring since there's nothing left to be done. It should've ended 2 months ago.

The first season already got a considerable amount of hate from the MAL fanbase, I'd rather not want the second one to be animated as it'll give more reasons to bash the show.

Well, I guess this is a good chance to catch it all the way up to its newest chapter. Then I'll see if it's better than Strobe Edge or not.

Happy to see it end acutally, but not in a negative way. It's just that things are pretty much finally resolved so there's not much else the mangaka could elaborate on, maybe an omake or two because I would like to see fluffy sides stories (of any of the main characters). It's been a tough, frustrating, and semi-excruciating ride since the very first chapter 0, can't believe I've been following it monthly for this long, but it was still very rewarding imo. Anyways, looking forward to final chapters and even if I said I am happy to see it end, I will actually also be sad to let it go after the past few years of following it. It's also the only manga that a few of my friends even read along with me, so there goes the FB posts in which we announce to each other that the new chapter is out haha.

The novel is an adaptation of the manga (not the other way around), so it makes sense it's still ongoing.

I was waiting for this to end so that I could start reading it after finishing the anime. Hoping for another season as well. While I wouldn't say the series is very special, there were many scenes I thought were very well done in the anime and I'm interested how the story ends.

Sequels tend to do better since most people who disliked the first season won't watch the second season. I wasn't aware that it was bashed at all, though? Outside the standard amount for most shows, of course. I only saw some complaints about Kaji Yuki when he was first cast, since too often his anime roles are lame, whiny chars... (unlike some of his otome game roles).

Everyone called it "generic" and a lot of people were hating on Kou for being the typical emo boy with a tragic backstory. Most manga-readers were satisfied with Kaji voicing him though. :P I feel like if they had a sequel, everyone would use the love triangle as another reason to hate on it, I'm 99% sure.

"most people who disliked the first season won't watch the second season" yeah no i think they will, sadly. everyone's a masochist

I read the mangaka's previous work, Strobe Edge. From what I'm reading, did Ao Haru Ride literally just copy the same plot as Strobe Edge? Now that's just sad

No it didn't copy that one, it copied every generic shoujo manga you can possibly think off.

I will say this though, the anime part was actually fairly decent on its own right.Quite a nice premise/start ,nothing never seen before but it was well done, and also quite a lot of room for expanding on it.Everything that came afterwards in the manga just wrecks it all up.

I wish they it would've continued, just showing Futaba and Kou as a couple. I hate how most shoujo manga end when the couple finally gets together, but we don't actually get to see them going out >.<

Not really. Not at all. It's a completely different premise than SE and the characters differ as well. Futaba is actually a bishoujo and has different reasons for loving Kou compared to Nina and Ren. Plus, Mayuka (My name lmao) is different from the girl who was using Kou.

Glad they won't be dragging it on and on tbh. guess they're going to be ending it when murao gets a bf like they always do in shoujo. no one can be left out ('sides maybe one of the love interests that didn't make it but usually they get someone)!!
will maybe be hoping for a 2nd season of the anime ver. we'll see tho.

Finally they end it :). Since chapter 40 this manga got worst, even though it was really predictable since ch.15 aprox. In my opinion the single-cour anime of AoHaru adapted the best of it.
Even that, I'm looking forward for her next work!

Although I really like this series I'm glad it's ending. It would have been great if the the triangle hadn't dragged for so long and we had a 10 volume manga (like Strobe Edge) instead of 13.
