| The Major is a Japanese brain in a cybernetic body of not explicitly described ethnicity. I would say this isn't terrible casting in re we know Scarlet looks good in form fitting clothes, and she can act. And as a western movie made for a western audience, a western actress is OK. The thing I would be worried about is the script, which is where anime adaptations have traditionally failed big time. |
