Does blushing make characters cuter?

Does blushing make everything cuter?
Of course! B-b-baka!
No. Blushing is for the weak.
It makes everything uglier >_<

A friend of mine once said he doesn't like it when characters blush because it makes him feel embarrassed for them ---kind of like a weird pitying. And it's a pretty big turn off.

But I don't know what the hell he was smoking. Blushing in my book adds significantly to the characters moe or cuteness level, regardless of the cause of blushing. I even went to the trouble of Gimping' an image of one of my waifus to make her blush. The results are as follows:

I don't know about you guys, but that last pic is just 10x better for some reason.
Either way, what is your stance on blushing? Does it maximize a character's cuteness/moeness, or are you turned off by it? Or maybe it depends on who's blushing and to what? What about real life blushing?

Generally blushing doesn't add anything since the majority of moe characters are horny sluts and blush even when there's no reason to.

Reinhard looked very cute when he blushed though, it was unexpected.
