While I wanted Index 3, I'm still glad that for this news. Quenser and Heivia antics, war propagandas, and lots of explosions.

There's still the Grand Finale for the event so let's hope for it.

Well, there goes any chance for Index III this time. There might be a chance in the future though. Anyways, I caught up on the LN for this so kinda excited for it. I hope it will be a 2 cour but the question is what studio? I'm hoping for White Fox.

This is utter bullshit. Fuck Heavy Object. Motherfucking DB is as bad as Kadokawa endlessly teasing Haruhi S3 to no fruition. I waited 6 months for this. A 10th anniversary for Index. Index not HO bitch on the banner of DB. All Index VAs at the event. Put all the Index cockteasing together and you get HO. How does that work?
I hate you Miki.

Most likely, I'd say. They already did the 10th Anniversary PV, and if I'm not mistaken, assets carry over to the new Heavy Object teaser.

At any rate, Kazuma Miki is pretty consistent in terms of his anime industry partnerships:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=82584

Most collaborations are with Warner's Nobuhiro Nakayama, who produces Shana and Index/Railgun with J.C. Staff (we can partly include Accel World here, for which J.C. handled the digitization and bonus OVA shorts).

Other recent collaborations have been with Aniplex's Shinichiro Kashiwada (Mahouka, Oreimo, Sword Art Online), formerly of J.C. Staff.

Haruhi S3 doesn't come because Tanigawa Nagaru doesn't write a new volume (last time we had to wait for 4 years even though it was stopped right in the middle of a story arc, fans were left with a cliffhanger for 4 freaking years, so let's not have any hope to see haruhi volume 12 before 2020 now that this story arc is finished), so they have nothing new to sell and therefore nothing new to advertise by using a new series. The cases are therefore different.

Never read Heavy Object, I guess it will be the occasion to discover it. Kazuma Kamachi has huge hit and miss, sometimes writing very pleasant volumes, sometimes writing completely disappointing volumes. So far there's more miss than hit so I'm not expecting much, but let's see what this one is made of~.

You'll probably have to wait at least another whole year before anything of that sort is announced.

From past comments, it's clear that Nobuhiro Nakayama is burned out on Index/Railgun, so there's neither a burning desire nor a strong business case to immediately produce a sequel. He has produced eight cours of anime, plus a movie.

To some degree, I think fans ought to pay closer attention to the activities of producers. They have more influence than anyone else, and there a number of inferences we can make from their comments and project movements (for instance, with Nakayama on Accel World, Index, and Strike the Blood, we can probably expect that there's going to be less production overlap between them than if different producers were handling each).

Eeeh I haven't seen Index nor Railgun so I know nothing really about the anime or light novels. LN adaptations are usually a miss for me but atleast this doesn't have ecchi or harem in its tags. I'll probably give this the 3-episode rule.

Heavy Object? Do we really need yet another anime with your generic male lead - naive, idealistic, egocentric and perverted - and a girl presented as able but only there for the mc to safe and to lust after him?

You know very well that this isn't the case, since have a light novel among your "favorite manga" list. And from the exact same editor as Heavy object to boot.

Now we're getting into complete nonsense. I haven't read that title, but the preview doesn't seem to go that way at all.

If we look at the studio that adapted Kazuma Kamachi's previous works, I think it is safe to assume that J.C. Staff will return to animate Heavy Object as well.

If the LN is anything like the manga based on it - that is exactly what you get.

Outside of the fact that there is case like Shinsekai Yori where the manga is completely different and had bad story/ecchi scenes that the original didn't have... That's not really promising indeed. I looked at the novel illustration quickly and couldn't find any ecchi one, that's still something I guess~

When does the terminology end? Are there no better words for a weapon than an "Object"? Next, someone is going to come out with a light novel with people fighting with "Things," and finally, we'll get down to using the word "Weapons" (but, mind you, with a capital "W").

Mecha + Military? I'm in my favorite genre! I looked at the cast of characters and the names make me laugh hard Alicia Sloppyjoes. Much original~

The amount of butthurt in this thread is hilarious though I only saw 7 episodes of Index and never went back it was alright though, but probably never going to finish watching it.
