Wow..

9/11.. Careless Monday..

Nonetheless, it appears that Takizawa Akira and Morimi Saki is having a great time.

There are still some questions unanswered. Everything about Takizawa Akira and his cell phone is so mysterious. More importantly, who the heck is Juiz???

I have to agree with the pacing and direction. The mystery is interspersed with just enough hints and clues to tantalise the viewers, without leaving us all lost and frustrated, as is often the case with many other shows that start out on a similar premise.

The story moves along nicely, without being bogged down by the introduction of character after character, instead focusing on character development and through very natural interactions between our leading couple, reveal the background story. This is in contrast to the usual (and kind of boring) way that most shows handle the "audience briefings", either by having voiceover narrations, or letting some government official deliver a long lecture to the subordinate.

The plot thus far is captivating, what with the near limitless resources placed at the disposal of the Selecao, the unexplained missile attacks, and all this being told in a modern day context with references to real incidents (9/11), locations (NYC, Brooklyn Bridge), and pop culture (taxi driver!) makes the experience and the idea of "money=power" more immersive for me. Though, as someone above pointed out, the show has moved the timeframe slightly ahead in the completion of the Freedom Tower over Ground Zero. I can only imagine that it'll probably have some significance, symbolic or otherwise, to be made clear in upcoming episodes.

Finally, the adorable leading couple! Is it me or do they share this chemistry that has hardly been seen in anime for a long time? Saki's expressions are amusing, and Akira's antics, especially in ep 1, are pretty hilarious too.

Overall, awesome show thus far, and I dare say a strong contender for best show of the season

Loving this anime, by far the best of this season... The chemistry between the 2 main characters reminds me of Spice & Wolf, although the setting is completely different, the dialogue is of really high quality and everything sounds natural - something rare in anime.

Its one of those series that makes 1 week wait feel like ages

The more I think about it, the more I feel like this show is like Paycheck with Ben Affleck than it is The Bourne Identity. Akira purposefully erased his memories possibly because he knew something terrible, and the only way he could slow things down was if he didn't know something in particular...

I agree. And if the story develops like I think it will, this anime will also have similarities to the movie "Total Recall". If Akira finds out who he was before, maybe he will not like the person he is supposed to be.

Perfect score for this episode!

I wonder if the "bang" finger thing was a Cowboy Bebop reference, but maybe i'm thinking too deep.

I thought this too, but probably not. Also thought of Gantz. But damn, that was awesome.

This show is good stuff.

Loved this episode. Intriguing indeed... I really love the interaction between Morimi and Akira too. :)

The detective's pointing and going "bang" really reminded me of Cowboy Bebop too... And I wonder who Juiz really is. ._.'' Her (it is a her, right?) power is kind of overwhelmingly scary. Curious about Akira's backstory now too.

WOW IG really delivers in animation and this anime is no exception. I just love studio IG's visual style.

It seems saki and takizawa are becoming closer by each episode. That moment on the boat was just fantastic. Also saki explaining bout her life. Great introduction to her character. I really want to know more bout Takazawa though. But it seems his is gaining his memories back little by little. Can he really be a terrorist? Does he have 8.2 billion yen o_0. I mean wow who the hell is this guy??

I am very interested in this secret organization, the selacao company. Who is that guy and why did just kill those guys, seems, maybe there hiding some kind of conspiracy and it might be connected to the chain of events that are happening during the bombing of tokyo. I am not sure but so far im liking this show, it has a very mysterious air to it. The characters are starting to really grow on me to.

wow, even better than the last episode think I'm gonna add this to my favorites.
first of all, anime making long conversations seem interesting? This is simply inconcivible!!!
I liked how they put in realistic looking seawater in during that boat scene
Pretty cool at the end when that guy gets this other guy to kill people with his .... mobile?
Wait so people in this anime can control other people with their mobiles? Gee, how to classify this...... Code Stand Alone Complex?

That corrupt(?) detective was so badass in the end. "juiz, kill these two."
Words cannot even describe how awesome and boss he looked.

Akira is awesome too, but tbh, the detective was way too cool for this shit. That tofu guy didn't have a chance against him.

And I have no idea how its going to go, story wise, seems very interesting. So Selesco(?) is some sort of mega corporation? I think, the detective wants to kill Akira so he can have all the money to himself?

The feeling this anime gives is AMAZING! It's like you are one of the characters, just met a wonderful person and embarked on this unknown, but exciting adventure!

I must say that everything about his series so far is incredible, the main characters' relation, the beautiful scenarios and this intriguing sinister atmosphere that just pulls you in.
