Recapitulations and their effects towards fellow otakus who want to watch the episode but have to wait like 5 mins omfg they suck cmon but not all of them.

Something like 10 seconds of recapitulation, where a narrator tells the most important event that happened at the last episode and that will be relevant towards the present episode. But some people disagree. I want to hear your thoughts. |

| I hate them because they waste time, and, if you were being a good boy, you wouldn't need them to refresh your memory because you've been marathoning the series. In addition, if you find yourself watching a episode ahead of the one you're supposed to be watching by accident, you'll be spoiled, which always sucks. |

| Its done just as filler so they dont adapt more manga, its better to have a recap than do what DBZ did and have characters stand around powering up. Series have different ways of introducing filler and most of them is the use of recaps, some work some dont at all, one of the ones that does it exceptionally well is gintama by having 3-5 minutes at the start of a episode be a anime only bit like having the characters try to figure out a way to draw the show out or having the main character get stuck in the in between animator step in animation. or most memorable doing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usjwNp3s94c its just kind of a thing we have to deal with for longer running shows, |

| Just checked the start of an episode of an hour-long US TV drama: the recap is exactly one minute and thirty seconds long. I don't mind that, so for anime (which is half the length), the recap should be 45 seconds tops. Recaps are for casual viewers. They don't necessarily tune in every week, but they want to know at least enough to follow what's going on. But as I said, they should be short. If a recap is five minutes long, it's probably because the animators got lazy - recaps allow you to use the same scenes again, no additional animation needed. |

| Like, 10 seconds or so is okay, but anymore gets boring. And I hate it when they repeat the last scene from the previous episode as the first scene in the new episode. Fate/kaleid did that, and those lasted like, five minutes sometimes. |

| Well, people get all butt-hurt over full episode recaps every 20 episodes or so. 5 recaps every 100 episodes should be fine. Thats the price of having such a long stringing series. |

| If you know they last until 05:30, why not just skip to 05:30 in your media player with your mouse or on your DVD player with your remote? And with lengthy series like One Piece, anything that lets one get through more episodes in less time is a blessing, not a curse. |
