Basically what animes did you really like after only seeing one episode or a few episodes. For me Dragon Ball Z, Gankutsuou the Count of Monte Cristo, Tatami Galaxy, Kaiji, Space Battleship Yamato 2199 were love at first sight. As a kid DBZ was the first really violent cartoon (I didn't know about anime at that time) I had ever seen but that was not only what made me like it. Piccolo really pulled me into DBZ because I had never seen any alien like that before, he was the most unique alien I had ever seen even to this day I have never seen as unique aliens as the Namekians in any other works of fiction. I liked Gankutsuou and Tatami Galaxy right after episode one of each of them. Their weird, unique art styles really made me want to watch them. After about 3 episodes I really liked Kaiji because of Kaiji himself. He was the first average, normal guy character I had ever seen in anime and even though I'm not a gambler he was a very relatable character. At first sight I liked Battleship Yamato 2199 because it's sci fi with no mechs which is my favorite type of anime, after a few episodes I could see it is basically an anime version of Star Trek. The Battleship Yamato 2199 I'm talking about is the remake not the original from the 70's.

Sword Art Online was definitely a love at first sight. But then it turned into utter shit after the third episode.

Nana is another anime I loved right at the first episode, I'm currently watching it right now.

Shingeki No Kyojin's first episode was awesome, so that's another example.

Samurai Champloo - I immediately fell in love with its OST.

O' Ye,Bruv. This topic defo- fits me :3.Hontoni Arigato!

Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama - It was my first Anime, the art and texture wasn't that good since it's a comedic Anime, but what's breath-taking is the uniqueness of an Anime.I have never seen any Anime similar to it,nothing even close.I've gotten a lot of suggestions like Special A,Koukou Club and many more but, yeah nothing can be compared to Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama.The story-line is awesome,Usui's attitude catches my eye and also Misaki's attitude when Usui is with her.Overall, this Anime is an masterpiece.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou - The attitude of the MC is awesome,through-out the whole Anime. You see, there are a lot of good Anime with good designs, etc. But,Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou defo- stands out.I've never said this before but,the ecchiness of this Anime is just perfect.

Check out my "[FFF]-Anime Recommendations." topic,I made a few days back.

Katanagatari because I like swords, made me remember good old shounen also in a way, some of the quotes also instantly caught me

Dennou Coil had a great premise, related a lot to it and made me get a lot of childhood feels

Forgot about putting Samurai Champloo. The OST s and characters will have you hooked by ep 1 or 2.

Forgot to put this one too. The art style, unique setting (fictional world resembling medieval Europe), unique enemies (giants) and obviously what happened at the end of the episode will hook you immediately

Darker Than Black-It had signs of everything I was looking for

Eureka Seven-The OST itself in the first episode had me hooked, not to mention the vibes I was getting about everything else

FLCL-Was completely random, couldn't stop laughing about the dickhead reference

High School Of The Dead-Mindless fun

Samurai Champloo-A break dancing swordsman, what's not to like

Steins;Gate-Although most people say they need a few episodes to get hooked, I was always gone at the end of the first episode

Look at my profile and tell me what you think?

As for why...the humor, fun characters, the wanton destruction and some of the best music ever...great childhood memories.

I have many favorites, but none will grab me like that ever again.

Sword art Online before it became a classic example of wasted potential -_-
Cowboy Bebop mainly because I'm a Spike fanboy :P
Code Geass because, well, the first episode was AWESOME
Clannad because it handled introductions well, it was funny, and it set the stage perfectly.
Fate Zero. By the last 5 minutes, I had the biggest fanboy grin ever.

School Days, many people say that it only got dark and interesting later on in the story but the signs were very much there from the beginning. I went into that anime hoping for emotional abuse and that is exactly what I got.

Natsume, while I love Mushishi in it's own way, it is not a pleasant viewing experience for me. The pace is painfully slow and the color palet makes me tired. But the unmatched stories and questions that it poses to the viewer, excellent characters that stick with you only after one episode and stunning atmosphere and soundtrack make it great. Natsume has all that, plus is very relaxing to watch and has that feel good vibe. While it's stories aren't as "deep"as Mushishi's, it still manages to pull my heartstrings.

I tend to like whatever I like within the first few episodes, since I can easily gauge (at least most of the time) how much I'll like a show almost initially. This is especially true of most shows that ended up among my favorites (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Serial Experiments Lain, Baccano!, Fate/Zero).

Shingeki no Kyojin's first episodle had the most impact. I caught up with the manga within 48 hours of watching the first ep.

Bakemonogatari was just beautiful and crazy and fun.

As soon as I saw the Yui's Les Paul on the cover, I immediately wanted to watch K-On. I don't regret that desicion one bit. After watching Season 2, The Movie and a bunch of sub par ripoffs I only grew to like the series more now that I have a better understanding of what makes it so good.

Haruhi was similar. Decided to watch it after seeing some pictures on the Internet. As soon as I heard Crispin Freeman's monolouge I thought to myself 'Wow, I think I like this Kyon guy'. Haruhi is still one of my favourites (The Movie has been in my number 1 spot since December 23 2011) and Kyon is still my favourite character of all time.

The artstyle in Heartcatch Precure really caught my eye and the initial fight scene in Tsubomi's dream looked fantastic. I wanted more. I wanted to see more fight scenes like that one. I wanted to know why all this was happening. For my curiosity I was awarded with the Gurren Lagann of magical girls.

And lastly Cowboy Bebop. Spike's personality and Yoko Kanno's score clicked with me right from the get go. The way he acted and the way he moved was like nothing I'd ever seen before especially not in anime. Sure he's very cocky and self absorbed but if I were anywhere near as cool as him I'd like me too. While the reasons I consider the show to be among the very best have almost nothing to do with the cool factor (Despite the insistence of people who are too dense to realise the show has a lot more going for it ) you'd be hard pressed to find someone whose first impression of the show didn't involve anything of the sort

Just recently, I watched Fate/Zero and I'm really hooked on it. The level of effort the put in the special effects is just stunning. If anything, love at first sight would mean a show that you were instantly hooked on the moment you saw the first episode.

There's also Sakurasou, which is my current favorite rom-com/drama anime because of all the lols it initially gave (which became feels it gave in the last few arcs.)

There's Hentai Ouji becuase of Azuki Azusa.

Girls und Panzer also, since it instantly became the show I looked forward to downloading at the time it was airing.

And lastly, Initial D 4th Stage, since it was the show that got me back to watching anime.
