I was rooting for a Noe ending the whole time, but I didn't dislike Hiromi either. I guess this ending was pretty good and I liked the anime as a whole. I haven't watched a anime this good for a while =P. |

I like the anime, but the ending didn't feel satisfying. I doubt it would even if he picked Noe instead... Nobody seemed happy, and Hiromi felt really shallow. I don't know, it just felt that something was missing. |

I'm glad it ended up with Shin x Hiromi. But I expect much to this last episode, then I guess I'm a bit disappointed. So after watching the whole show ( Took me almost one day to complete this anime... ), I changed my thoughts about it and I think this show was good. 7/10 DeathfireD said: I'm happy with how things panned out in the end but I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't more dramatic. NOOOO! NOOOOE! ;A; I can't believe Shinichirou didn't stay with her in the end. She sure was weird, but she was cute, beautiful and honest. Hiromi was fine for me 3 episodes ago, but then she started to get on my nerves for apologizing everytime and trying to get Noe away. Damn.. This anime was really sad and pretty. I'm glad Noe was able to cry in the end. 9/10 (would be a 10 if Noe was the chosen one) |

Disappointed for the Shin x Hiromi ending, mostly because I began to only consider him with Noe, pretty much forgot there was a chance he could end up with Hiromi. I just hope Noe finds love in someone who'll return her feelings. Someone who can fly! 8/10 - Really enjoyed this show, I really liked how they developed each character and the relationships. I'm hoping to find more shows like this. |

Ok, I really liked this show, but why, oh why did he choose Hiromi???!!!!!! She was the only character who annoyed me this much! At first I could understand because of Shin's mother, but after like 2 or 3 episodes (maybe even 4) I couldn't stand Hiromi. She had to many mood swings, she cried way to much, and she tried to push Noe away (I was so scrared that she wouldn't call Shin when Noe didn't come home). Noe tells you exactly what's on her mind, she keeps a straight face when she serious, but is outgoing and fun. She doesn't go through all these up and down mood swings. But like other people said, Shin totally didn't deserve her. It's been awhile since I've been this annoyed by an anime character. At least Noe was able to cry in the end. |

I also found the ending annoying. I liked Noe because even though she wasn't able to cry, she was always doing her best to be honest and open about her feelings unlike Hiromi. Also, Hiromi was shown often to be even mean when things didn't go her way. Maybe part of it was because she thought Shin might be her brother so she felt conflicted about her feelings... so we can blame Shin's mum as well. The ending did make sense though, but I think it was badly done because in the last few episodes the writers should have made Shin realize his feelings unambiguously. In the end he did make a choice but I felt that they kept pushing the tension so far that I was left confused regarding whom he really loves. It seemed like they wanted to create suspense and avoid losing viewers by hinting at both Noe & Hiromi endings and as a result Shin seems more like someone who's afraid of losing either girl than someone who has true feelings for anyone. Besides, it was hard to watch Noe being so upset over the situation while Hiromi was much more composed, again making me feel like Noe had deeper feelings. Overall it was 7/10. The story was quite enjoyable and there was good character interaction. In many scenes I felt though that it would have been better without the music. My biggest problem with the series wasn't actually the ending but the fact that all the characters were something I've seen before. Shin was particularly annoying in his blandness, but I guess you can't have a harem anime or a love triangle with a decisive male character. |

The two things I've noticed through all the pages of this thread is that the hatred for Hiromi and the fact that those that hate her don't talk about how she was raised after her parents died. She lost both parents, went to live in a strange house and had pseudo mother that hater her. Told her stay away from Shin. Remember a few scenes where she told her to stay away from him? Or Hiromi was worried that his mom would find out he was in her room. Does anyone think that she would show proper emotions when they are needed? For that I think her character was great. Since that day at the festival she's love Shin, but was afraid to convey those feelings at home. Here school life was miles apart from her home life. I do believe he liked Noe, but only after he found out Hiromi said she liked No. 4. I think that's when he changed his mind to replace Hiromi in his heart with Noe. Overall I give it a 9/10. The ending was great. I would have liked maybe an OVA or two showing everyone a year or more later. |

Kind of depressing story about how there's no justice in human relationships; Shin has Noe to thank for everything good that happened to him in the series but she doesn't get anything back from it. If only Shin and Hiromi weren't such a stone-dead boring couple, this might be a pretty strong ending. |

I loved this anime more than any I have ever watched but the ending is so upsetting :'( I wanted a good ending for Noe :( It's so heart breaking having to see the hero choose a heroine while leaving the other behind </3 That aside, this anime was hand down the most realistic romance anime I have ever seen. Watching True Tears has also made me come closest to crying while watching anime. I wonder if there will be an alternative series for Noe :D But probably not and the thought is very upsetting :( 10/10 |

10/10 anime 10/10 ending noe saw love as something powerful that can make you "fly". hiromi saw love as something that had to be fought for and never give up on. aiko was the most mature and understood that love isn't always meant to be. in the end, noe was finally able to cry and grow up from understanding shin. aiko learned to open her heart to someone else and become stronger from losing shin. and hiromi finally had someone to wipe her tears away. 10/10 anime even with the shin x hiromi ending being anticlimatic. i don't think their love was the main point of the show anyway. i gave the ending 10/10 because of noe finally crying in front of raigomaru's grave and the rocks shin spelled 'i like noe.' i'm team noe, but if shin chose her, i doubt her tears would have been as beautiful as the ones she shed in this ending. |

Hiromi was not a character. She was hollow and had close to zero characteristics. Her entire existence in the anime is marginal at best; all she ever did was end up with the main character. No true back-story, generic, and ultimately unmemorable. I find it strange that Noe lost though she had so much more attention. The anime ended with a goddamn 2 minute still of her gazing at the distance. It's almost as if the director decided to make the entire point of the anime spiting the audience by choosing an inferior girl as a winner. Extreme? Yes. Dissatisfying, 6/10. |

I just had a quite weird experience ahaha. I didn't really know what to make of the final episode seeing he ended up with Hiromi. Somehow it felt natural tho, theyw ere childhood friends. But I did feel sorry for Noe a bit. I see how everybody hates Hiromi BUT. I remembered something that someone improtant told me and I had completely forgotten. Interesting though that exactly this situation with Hiromi and Noe reminded me of it. I was told once that people who change you somehow, even if for the better, never get to stay by your side"forever". The one who told me ths had a theory of his own according to which we all are somehow destined to meet these kind of people that reveal things in us. But those aren't the people to whom we would spend a lifetime. It was something strangely beautiful and back then I thought was kinda asspulled. :))) But now somehow it made me accept this ending for I do believe it was the best choice. Noe did help him understand his own self better, correct his mistake and be true to himself and otehrs. |

Noe did help him understand his own self better, correct his mistake and be true to himself and otehrs. Hiromi's a hollow husk, whose only existence is to be that generic anime childhood opposite-gendered friend to Shin so they can do it when they are ripe enough. Noe has a lot more character than Hiromi and I feel more pity for her than Hiromi. She's lost her grandma and is living with a brother with a sister complex, who's the only one who can take care of her. Unlike Hiromi, she's got hooked with Shin's family, who own a sake brewery, so they're friggin' RICH. So even if she decides to live on her own as opposed to staying at home where it's financially better, they can pay for her anyway. Cus' they loaded. Noe doesn't have that luxury, and an overall more pitiable character, and the one who should get treated better. It's understandable that harem animes are complicated, that's why School Days, looking for an easy and satisfying way to end a harem, got so much bad ratings. Hey, I like School Days, at least it beats choosing right? Dead men don't choose hahahaha! Anyway, I guess it fits the title of the anime, being "True Tears." They sure made Noe cry "true tears" at the end, poor thing. |

As a fan of romance anime, I have to say this ending was way too weak. I am going to say the same thing that I thought when I saw Hoshizora: If you are going to have the main character choose one of the girls, make sure to focus more development on that one girl!!!! Really, throughout most of the show it seemed they placed more emphasis on Noe's character and her developing as one than Hiromi, but instead they opted with a Hiromi end? That decision makes for an empty end, and why so many romance anime are not that good. Hell, even Kamisama of romance (Clannad) frequently gets bashed because of who Tomoya chose in the end... But eh, it gets a 7/10. Would be 9 if it were either a Noe end, or more emphasis was put onto Hitomi. Also, I am getting sick of childhood friends being automatic winners (unless it were the case in Hoshizora. Any of the other characters would have been a better choice...). |

The childhood friend usually never wins, or even get a chance. Anyways... I really enjoyed this anime. It took me on an emotional roller-coaster with believable characters and conflicts. Personally, it made no difference to me who Shin chose at the end. After all it really comes down to who Shin loved, who deserved to be loved is another question all together. One thing I really liked is how Aiko moved on. We don't often get to see this happen to the 'losers' in love triangles situations, and it shows how it being rejected really isn't the end of the world. (Though that rejection scene was one of the most brutal ones I've ever seen in an anime) |

I have seen A LOT of romance animes and this is the first time I'm really disappointed with an ending. Hiromi was such a boooooring character. She was such a hollow and emo character. Noe had almost the same sad past as Hiromi, but she wasn't crying og being emo over it. Noe was the only great character in this anime. The main male character (Shin) is boring as hell. Even his friend was better than him. Atleast he fought for his girlfriend. Aiko was not better too. She and Hiromi had no development in this anime at all. I feel like the anime trolled me. They focused so much on Noe and should have ended with her. First time i skipped through a last episode of an anime after I found out who he would end it. 4/10 + Some funny moments + Noe Isurugi - Boring male main character - Ending - Hiromi (No development as character. Hollow and boring) |

This series started out so good and ended so badly... At the beginning I liked pretty much every character (even Hiromi), especially Noe. The first time I saw her and after that her interactions with Shin were just so enjoyable to watch, it made me feel pretty good. But they had to fuck up the whole thing with focusing on Hiromi and the whole unreasonable choice that Shin made with choosing her. Hiromi is probably one of the most hollow and boring character I've ever seen, having no character development, or rather, a fake one. That bitch almost didn't tell Shin about Noe not coming home. I also didn't get for what reason did she think that she had the right to tell Noe to leave them alone... Shin's mother was also unreasonable. Her whole purpose was to give Hiromi a reason to be depressed and quiet. She hated Hiromi because of her mother and expected her to forget such a "trivial" thing as the possibility of her dad being Shin's dad. All of a sudden she is like, "oh no, you thought I hated you? Of course not, I was just being a bitch for no apparent reason". And the dad, that man apparently knew about the whole thing, but didn't say anything about it, because god knows why... But wait, it doesn't end here. There's also Aiko and Nobuse. They were probably the most pointless characters in the whole thing. I mean Aiko's love for Shin and the kiss they shared served pretty much no purpose. Their little story would have been fine if it weren't made like it mattered, she shouldn't have been shown as the third main girl. Shin was also a very likeable, but he also degraded during the show. I can't understand why he delayed telling Noe about him not loving her anymore. That action kind of reminded me of Makoto from School Days, which is not a very good thing. He really should have talked things through with Noe, especially when he found her at the at sea at night. Shin's and Hiromi's love was also shallow, it was the usual "childhood friend love conquers everything". It was unreasonable, and as someone already said before me: "Sure Hiromi will be fun for now but Noe is a life partner." I think that's very true. Noe actually cared about him, and wasn't a possessive and selfish bitch who thought the world was revolving around her. I mean Noe was also the reason he drew the whole picturebook. She essentially made him to be a better person. And even their love in the end wasn't played out well. The scene when Shin confessed to Noe with the rocks was beautiful. Probably my favorite from the whole show. The show ended with that scene for me. I just feel so bad for Noe. Not because of not winning, but because of not winning to someone like Hiromi without any character and whose whole existence was about inconsistency. I'm gonna leave these two here as I very much agree with them: Drengot said: *re-writes the ending* Shin realizes how much Noe is important for him, as she was the one who cheers him up, gives him courage, etc. Thus he told Hiromi that he likes Noe better. Hiromi (depressed) went to Jun's and tries to have sex with him, Jun declines, slaps her, and see the reality. As time passes, Hiromi finally accepted, that she "graduated" from Shin (like Aiko?). Meanwhile, Noe (depressed) tries to do suicide, because of too much pressure on her and she couldn't get it out since she couldn't cry. Thus Shin tries to stop her, and Shin told her that he loves her. Noe couldn't believe, cuz she thought he's in love with Hiromi, Shin proved it by trying to commit suicide as well. Thus it convinced Noe and they kissed and sex. At the end of Winter, the snows are melting and Shin holding hands with Noe saw the stones written "I love Noe". The end. DigimonTamer said: Panaru said: In a word, lame. I'm with Tamer. The series ended for me at the scene when Shinichiro wrote that he liked Noe with rocks. I generally rate based on how an anime makes me feel, so I guess I'll go with 6/10. Yes, despite my overall hatred of this show now, that will go down as one of the greatest scenes I have ever seen in anime. In fact, the True Tears were my own when I saw Noe standing there in the closing seconds of episode 13 looking at those rocks after the snow melted. You could tell that she was so sad as she saw the remains of the 2 things she loved most. Raigomaru's grave and the rocks that Shin used to ask her out. I really don't understand the ending as the whole show was basically about Noe. It had an overall higher focus on Noe, Noe's pets (the chickens) were a major part of the show and were major sources of inspiration for both Noe and Shin, and, of course, the show was named after the very issue that Noe had with her emotions and her tears. I guess Noe finally gained her tears out of sadness from a broken heart instead of those tears being tears of joy. Without Noe this whole show would have been nothing, she is the sole reason I watched this through. She has also become one of my favorite characters. Hiromi however (not just her, but mainly her) ruined the anime for me. I would give this show a 6, but I said in a previous episode that whatever I'm gonna give this, I'm gonna lower it with 1 if Shin doesn't end up with Noe. Thus, I'm gonna end it with a 5/10. It's a shame, because it started out so good with a lot of potential. If I'll ever rewatch this (probably not), I'm only gonna watch till episode 8. That was the final point where I still enjoyed it. I started the show because of my love for Hanasaku Iroha, Tari Tari and P.A. Works in general. Well, I guess not every anime they make can be good. |

The end, well like I thought but hoped was untrue did come out Hiromi x Shinichiro while fans of that match may now be totally happy I still think the end would have been lots better if it was Noe x Shinichiro! It was nice to see Aiko x Miyokichi back together or at least on better terms! The total end with Noe back at the henhouse had a sweet touch but yea still find it sad it ended rather depressing... but oh well it sure was nice! The whole anime was really nice paced and had a decent buildup towards the end with some neat character development! The art was also pretty decent and the anime had the right atmosphere to it! In general a great watch! 7/10 |

That garbage ending killed me, gave me CPR, then killed me again, resurrected me, then butchered me back down. With all that garbage from what Hiromi said to Noe, even with her back round that was just about unforgivable and nonredeemable at that point. When it hit the end all I could think was that anyone could bet there ass Shin didn't deserve Noe. If it weren't for the last two episode I'd give it a god dang 9.5/10 but I gotta say it's 7/10. Too much killing of certain audience along with overused defibrillators. On top of that defibrillators killed the electric bill too. |

I'm glad Shin ended up with Hiromi. However, Shin spent way too much time being indecisive and thinking about Noe; there was barely any romance between him and Hiromi left by the end. The last time I can remember Shin showing real affection for Hiromi was the bike chase scene. After that, there's a kiss, but it was very unromantic and seemed one-sided. We didn't get to see Hiromi's response to Shin's asking her out. There's only the implication. I am left so unsatisfied. Bah! What a waste of time... Although I must say that the anime was really well made, I simply couldn't get any enjoyment out of it because of the distinct lack of real romance. 6/10. |

Not choosing Noe is like taking a huge dump on the whole show and its story. 5/10 because we were given such a sweet person named Noe That's a really petty reason to give the show a 5/10. And Hiromi's a pretty shitty character. Works out just fine, no? Hiromi is not a shitty character but that's besides the point. Him choosing a girl you hate over the girl you like is not an enough reason to call the whole anime terrible or mediocre, at the very least you should appreciate the suspense and how an unpredictable it was near the end. Because of people like you this anime is ranked fairy low and most of low scores are because of Noe's fans not because they thought the actual show was terrible. Your devotion to this show is admirable and made me realize that my score was completely biased and that I didn't judge it objectively but decided to listen to my heart (doesn't that sound romantic?). Thank you, unknown user, for opening my eyes. still 5/10 :* |
