Phew, I'm so glad this finally got subbed. I'm equally as glad that it pretty much lived up to my expectations for the time being. At the very least it's the best thing I've seen from the summer season. Ryoko is the type of female lead that, let's face it, does not come around in anime. Multilingual, Tokyo U Law School grad, and plenty flamboyant to tie it altogether. The animation production seemed solid enough, the soundtrack was pretty good, and even though they're apparently not using stories right from the novel series the writing was good thus far so at the moment I don't have any real issues with this series. Can't wait to see the second episode.

I was pleasantly surprised. I really wasn't expecting much but it was quite good. I guess this is one of the few summer series I'm picking up.

I just love Ryoko's personality.

Aside from that I have to say the characters are great, the story is (so far) well done and the mix of mystery and comedy was enjoyable. Also, that shopping scene was just brilliant.

Perfect start to a show that I think I will enjoy seeing more of in the future.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this 1st episode. This could turn out to be the best series of this summer season (if the next episodes are as good as this one).

YAY, Yang Wenli isn't dead, I knew it !

/Gineiden fanboy mode off/

Clever plot, brilliant characters, great animation/art, as I expected, "Le Recueil des Faits Improbables de Ryoko Yakushiji" seems to be the best series of this summer. No wonder : the book it's taken from was written by Legend of the Galactic Heroes & Arslan Tou Senki's creator, Yoshiki Tanaka !

Moreover, the characters do have a Jinto/Lafiel (Crest of the Stars) relationship too and the mix of different genres (comedy, mystery, thriller, detective story, romance...) is just awesome. Fantastic first ep.

The first post summed up pretty well my opinions!
I was waiting for this to get subbed and it didn't disappoint a bit. The mummified people were a bit creepy, but I like the overall atmosphere of the show. This anime makes up for the lack of other interesting titles, I'll be looking forward to the next episodes.

I really enjoyed episode 1. I am happy to see a competent and sexy female lead who is older than 15 ^_^ I like the relationship between the two leads and the fact that while he seems a bit awkward at times, he is really perfectly able to take care of himself too, and has good reasoning skills. I look forward to the next episode :D

Make that two of us. I don't outright hate Ryoko but there's certain personality traits of hers that bug me. The episode wasn't bad overall but the pacing seemed to jump a bit. I'll keep watching to see where this one goes.

It's kind of nice to have a female lead that's not a teenager, somehow... The relationship between Ryoko and Izumida also intrigues me. XD

The whole thing with the mummies exploding was pretty freaky though. I was creeped out. Bleghh. But this seems like it has an interesting story so I'll stick with it... and the animation is pretty.

Badass woman with a badass guy in a crime series. I love it so far :>

Also, catchy Op. Reminds me of Lupin the Third.

After finishing Himitsu: The Revelation, I've been itching to find another good police/ mystery series. I definitely liked this first episode and I'm already a fan of Ryoko :D

Picked this up because I read it was based on a series of novels by Yoshiki Tanaka himself (he of LOGH fame). I have to confess I wasn't blown away but it wasn't a total waste either. I hope the following episodes really bring the mistery into the fore.

That was so boring I nearly fell to sleep. Also the female is obnoxious.

Might give it another episode before dropping.

I wanted to watch this anime for a long time! I love detective mystery stuff and I just finished watching Kindaichi both seasons so I needed a replacement. After all, I'm caught up with Detective Conan as well. :<

So far, it's interesting. I like the main leads! They have a good dynamic. The only thing kind of putting me off is the bland art.

Also, incredible OST!
