WoW! How many epic eps can one anime have? xP

Another epic episode!

and Sanji is yet to reappear!

5/5 ep!

and yay! New ED! Actually a hinting one!

ED:
We saw our dream that day.
Knowing that it isn't wrong...
We can cross... the fierce and naging sea.
You're braver than anyone I've ever known...
And yet so compassionate.

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

LOL Franky wanting to sing songs due to his emotions is quite funny. :)

If you follow OP, there is seriously a track record for having sanji disappear during crucial moments.

Absolutely, it's almost as though Oda never quite knows what to do with him.

Or it could be intentional!? The only reason they got out of Crocodile's cage in Arabasta is because Sanji wasn't there when the agents recorded everyone's presence.

what happened to the others after the fire??!
aaaah i'm so worried for them all we know is that nami is okay...
I love Franky even more now seeing how much of a softie and sweet heart he is <3
and the ending was beautiful, a nice homage to the Going Merry.
It seems that this adventure is just beginning.

I'm really beginning to warm up to Franky. It looks like Usopp will soon realise its time to let Merry go.

I hope Luffy managed to land somewhere safe and not in the water, I think Zoro will be okay but Nami and Chopper look like they could be in trouble, especially if the clueless carpenters get hold of them without Paulie explaining everything.

Franky is hilarious! I am wondering though if he is a match for CP9 agents.
As for Sanji I think there will be a good reason for his disappearance. And the fact that he wasn't with the others during Crocodile's arc came in quite handy!!! I am guessing the same goes now.

Oh I am so sold on Franky!!
He clicked with me immediately, but this episode just extenuated that fact. He's such a stand-up dude and he ended up helping Usopp because he sensed that he was actually a good sport.
Both Franky and Iceberg have surprised me tbh!

Honestly can't believe how easily Zoro got floored- he even lost one of his swords. Poor Chopper is stuck in the building and Nami escaped out of the window but ended up unconscious. Lucci is OP af- not only has he had all that weird training, but he has a DF as well :/

Then there's Sanji out there doing god knows what!

Umm, yoohoo Mr. Prince...your crewmates need you!!! Your lovely Nami-swan is lying blacked out in enemy territory & everyone could use your deduction skills right about now!

This arc is definitely living up to its reputation though. It's like watching an entirely different anime...Alabasta & Skypiea feel like the warm up arcs or something! 😅

Yeah, Water 7 has to be one of my favorite parts. It pulls the maximum out of all the characters, like Arlong park, Baratie and other build-up arcs. Also I love it whenever they hit and explore a new town, episodes like Logue town are some of my favorite.

Lucci turned into a big furry leopard to finish them off. At first I was confused why he wouldn’t kill them and instead would toss them out of the building instead, but I’m glad he elaborated on it. Of course pirates can’t use their words to make others believe them, and of course they aren’t a threat either, Lucci could have single handedly taken on all of them. And the way he did was quite brutal. This episode was miserable all the way to the new ED which made me tear up, but on to that later. Chopper was crushed, Nami was beaten, Luffy was pierced through the chest with a massive claw creating a hole in his body, and Zoro lost his technique to anger from Luffy being injured and couldn’t cut the iron body of Lucci, getting kicked out in a single hit. I thought Aokiji was a brutal fight, One Piece has entered a realm of people far stronger than our cast. This hasn’t been the case before, outside of gimmicks that is.

I’m glad Lucci elaborated, a Zoan fruit may not mean only animals but rather genuine physical augmentation instead, so of course animal transformations apply. Could Chopper train to get that big and scary somehow?!

Seeing Paulie heart broken by his “friends” turning on him like this hurt to see, especially his tears. I enjoyed how he tried his best to save Iceberg though, and the line “Don’t call my name as if we’re friends… why’d it have to be you guys?!” was almost too much. At least Luffy could deeply understand and help out.

So all this miserable stuff happens and then Nami gets taken hostage by the angry mob who still blames the Straw Hats. This is turning out awful. Sanji, where are you? :(

Then, Lucci slaughters the Frankies. Or so it seems if he kept his word… And all of this misery changing to a comedic scene of Franky crying and singing to Usopp made me feel sick to my stomach. The comedic tone shift didn’t even last that long, but what it did do was show how little Franky and Usopp knew what was going on. Both will find out everyone they love have been destroyed and mutilated. :(

Kokoro is working on the train that Tom built and knows Iceberg and Franky and definitely knew Tom. She also knows CP9. What an oddly important character.

The ED made me tear up because it was such a sentimental song and visuals. We saw the entire journey up to now through silhouettes and the lyrics were ones of saying goodbye. It was hopeful and melancholic. “Even if you depart this ship and live in a different world, in the end, we can all surely smile.” It’s the first time the tone of the OP or ED of this arc directly addressed the loss of friendship rather than the strength of it being a magnet to pull them all together again.

One criticism, CP9 left Paulie and Iceberg tied up? That’s looking like a contrived way to get them saved. You could kill them yourselves!! Be safe. I thought they’d let them live because they needed to find the blueprint but of course they’re confident Franky has it.

Franky and Usopp's surprisingly friendly interactions was a nice breather after the heavy tenseness Lucci brought by incapacitating all the Straw Hats in the area. The three wackos even cried over Usopp leaving the Straw Hats like I did lmao

Cipher Pol's getting more menacing the more we see them and I'm looking forward to see their asses get kicked by the Straw Hats and possibly even Franky.

Eternal Pose was nostalgic and happy but this new ED was both nostalgic and sad as hell. I nearly teared up over Merry's perfect swan song.

Usopp wasn't even beaten again! All he needed to do is explain what had occur with him and the Straw Hats; and that was enough for Franky and his attendants to be sentimental!🤣

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

this Franky guy really does it for me, plus he's an even better clown than Usopp even though he's also cool!
sort of slow episode and perfect time to put in that new somber ED

Franky-Usopp talk was so refreshing after all that!
IS HE A MUSICIAN AND SHIPWRIGHT?! LUFFY GRAB HIM!
Usopp in his eyecatcher, not scoring full points w dart?
Sanji's eyecatcher is shown but once again he is not around... Well I guess it's a good thing the mugiwaras didn't put all eggs in one basket. Cause...

Things are hard for our mugiwaras, Chopper was under the rubble, I worry about him the most. Wild how they didn't kill them there, I guess time was running out and nobody would believe a bunch of pirates.
Lucci is flexing now, there was no need to expose his form. I suspect the birb is behind all, look at how he was enjoying the fire.
They are such cool villains, I love the air walk. I mean they seemed to be on top of their work undercover, so eh? Get the bread. I wished Kaku was a good guy though, he was such a cutie.

As if the poor Straw Hats haven’t suffered enough in Water 7, they easily outclassed by CP9 themselves, worse of all, Lucci himself has the same devil fruit powers as Chopper only instead of him turning into a human like reindeer, he turns into a humanoid cheetah whose strength increases, practically everybody who was there at that point has been knocked out. Luffy and Zorro were both sending flying out the windows, Luffy I have no idea where, Zorro is literally in the elevated waters, Chopper I have no idea if he made out alive but literally had a bunch of rumble fall onto him and now Nami’s unconscious and is unfortunately at the hands of the Galley La staff.

Elsewhere Usopp on the other hand, despite what I thought was gonna happen, seems to be in safe hands with Franky and his entourages who are apparently crying because of apparently Usopp’s told them all that’s happened so far. Quite honestly I kind of need the levity in this episode because it’s just been pretty terrible in terms of mood. And I’m not even joking. From Paulie’s tearful moments where he’s just betrayed, once again the Straw Hats getting their asses handed to them and Lucci and the rest of CP9 essentially taking out Franky’s underlings in the process.

It seems that both Usopp and Franky are about the only ones that have no idea what’s going on is this crazy game of conspiracies, treachery, backstabbing and cutthroat business that seems to be the order of the day so to speak for this arc in particular.

And for a character that has barely shown up in this arc, Kokoro continues to surprise me, she knows Franky, she knows Iceberg, she works on the Sea Train and she even knows about CP9. To quote Hector from Coco: “That’s weirdly specific.”

Man even the new ending is sad it gives off a senmental vibe but at the same time just downright heartbreaking especially on what it’s focusing on. But at the same time it’s pretty hopeful as well. Otherwise another solid episode overall.

The ability to puncture Luffy is actually quite a feat, but kicking him away instead of killing him was a dumb move. They aren't that intelligent for people working in intelligence agencies. What I am really concerned about is Nami.
