| Umm..it's just a common animation/character design. Anime often tend to look more alike that different. I don't see how it can even possibly be construed as a Kannagi rip-off. I've seen loads of artwork before Kannagi on the internet I'd more compare that to. Like, sites I looked at when I was 12 or 13 had designs like that. It's nice to see that more animation catch up. |

| Just to clarify, Kyoto Animation employs a few character designers and art directors. The Kanon and Clannad art which we are so accustomed to is attributed to Kazumi Ikeda. She does not appear to be on the staff for K-ON. The art director slotted for K-ON is Yukiko Horiguchi, whose major work was from Lucky Star. Yukiko Horiguchi, Kannagi's director, worked with Horiguchi on Lucky Star (before being cut after 4 episodes) so maybe that's why there's a little bit of similarity but that's speculation on my part. I'm still looking for great Kyoto Animation style quality! :D |
| I agree my first impression is Kannagi's art but looking closely she also looks like Nagisa in some way. I can say it's KyoAni-ish. Thus, this series' art will be epic. I can't wait for this. |
| Looks pretty solid to me. Her face is similar to Tsugumi's, but it's not identical. And the hair is completely different. In any case, looks better than Munto's designs. |

I think you mean Yutaka Yamamoto (Kannagi's director). The reason for the similiar character design is either based on Kakeru Mima's inspiration on Horiguchi's designs or pure chance. Horiguchi on this show is definitely a plus, I like her artworks quite a lot (my profile picture is obviously an illustration by her). I hope Kyoani manages to set up more concert scenes like in Haruhi, but with the loss of Yamamoto it's nothing natural. However, the first trailer showed the usual Kyoani animation level, so things will hopefully turn out well. |

If you look at it more carefully, you can also compare it to Lucky Star's art. I think it's safe to say that it's obviously a KyoAni product. |

| I'm getting major Haruhi vibes from this for some reason. Even though they're both made by Kyoto, they don't look much alike. But the art style looks swell and the story could be interesting. Thursdays this spring are once again gonna be filled with brilliant anime. |

| This seems like it may start a new genre... Girls with Guitars. As a guitarist myself I'm going to be constantly watching their hands and seeing if their fingering corresponds with the noise they're making. I also want to know if they use solid-state or tube amps, what picks they use, thier string gauge, and what pickups their using on their guitars. :P |

| This seems pretty solid - the art direction is definitely appealing and the animation actually looks pretty good. Hoping KyoAni can make this a success, mind you, it's already being hyped to death by some people. Looking forward to watching this as the season begins. |
