| Depends on the show, there are some good romance anime out there like "Ore Monogatari" or "Wotakoi". Not cringing while watching "Kanojo Okarishimasu" or "Kaichou wa Maid-sama" was impossible for me though. |

I couldn't watch most anime at first, but look at me now, I can watch the most degenerate cringe shit with a straight face... maybe watching anime was a mistake. Seriously tho just watch what you enjoy. If you notice your tastes in anime changing, you can always go back and retry stuff you initially didn't like. That's what I did. |

I want to preface that it's fine not being the targeted demographic, but also acknowledge that other people might love aspects of shows that you dislike. |

| I have a way to deal with cringe, but no ways to avoid cringing. To deal with cringe is pretty simple: you pause the episode for a few seconds, close your eyes, convince yourself that what you've just witnessed didn't happen. If that still doesn't help then I would advise to go on MAL and list the show you were watching as "dropped", close the tab and never open it again. |
| That's an easy one, I don't watch romance in the first place. Or at least not that often. Romance has always been a genre I've had trouble watching. And it's pretty much the same reason I avoid most horror movies; it's really easy to fuck them up. Especially romance. At least with horror, if it fails at it's job, much like a crappy comedy, you can laugh at how much it missed the mark. Same with any non-romantic dramas. But a bad romance is just plain hard and awkward to sit through. At least for me it is. But hey, at least they don't make me irrationally upset like most musicals do, so there's that. |

Would it not be better to actually watch something good like RoV then ? or like trust and betrayal instead of what is horrible done. | Avoid watching cringey shows at all costs , that's the advice I have been giving to myself since I started watching anime. I absolutely loathe most of the romantic anime (except some) and can't avoid cringing at them and get completely annoyed so I avoid them at all costs. |
| Cringe is something I do, when I come across specific anime. There isn't a genre, theme or anything else in anime that when I watch it, it will always without fail, make me cringe. I suppose the only exception would be some specific parody shows. But not all of them. |
