Good episode, main part of the battle/war coming up soon.

Seems Arthur has finally grown up?

I'm still...not sure if I understand all of what's going on though. But maybe that's just me. (About the 12 spirits...and the Road of Kings)?

Road of Kings? When was that said?

Well, It was a fine episode. I just really wish they had hurried along with the Talesin and Arthur Stuff. Besides that, I was heavily reminded of Guin Saga in this episode, which is the first time I've thought that way. Not a bad thing at all.

Between Arthur finding resolve and Gaius with his "viva la revolution" banter... it wasn't too bad of an episode but nothing special.

At last Arthur more or less abandons his pledges and oaths, AT LAST!
although he might've crossed the line a little, saying he'd give his life for it.
Well, not a second too late.. Now maybe he won't be such a wuss and become a cool guy once again ? xD

Well, I think in Guin Saga is more like The Two Tower(LotR) while this one is more like The Return Of The King.

The Return of the King.

Interesting episode, even if I don't really understand the motivations of the Brigantes to follow Aragorn... huh I mean Arthur.

The Brigantes still retain their loyalty to the Elf King Pwyll, and Taliensin is now convinced that Arthur is the rightful successor of his will(After all he is his reincarnation!!!). So they have decided to follow him.
Also, almost every tribe hates the HOLY EMPIRE.
The next episode is probably the last episode of the Gaius arc.

Yeah, this really feels like an anime version of the Pelennor Fields. It was a good episode though, the insert song ruled.

But eh, why did they need a ram when the empire's soldiers already took control over the gatehouse and lowered the drawbridge? Might aswell open the gate while they're at it.

Yeah, I was wondering whether anyone else noticed how heavily it borrowed from the Lord of the Rings movies. Ladders +women and children cowering in the back with constant pounding noise + brigands returning to save the day = Helm's Deep. Freakin' huge ram pulled by giant animals + siege towers = Minas Tirith.

I kind of want to watch those movies now....

might've crossed the line?
aaaaaahahahaha!! that poor bastard is always ready to lay down his life every other minute! i thought he'd have more sense whacked into him by now. this just makes me want him die more. and as for arthur becoming a cool guy.. ha.. ha.. ha.. nah, dude, he can't.
in a way, i like his character because he's like a common human, raided by doubts and flaws in his character. if he was ever supposed to be a strong one, then phui! he's been badly made.

and yup, it looked a lot like LOTR.

aaaand... if they have ROBOT guardians... O_o where'd the technology suddenly disappear to?? seriously man, this anime has a totally twisted setting. i guess that's one part where it loses out in popularity (and then there are the many other things.. hehe..).

Well, lessons learned from being dumbasses for too long..

Only thing I felt that the Gael tribe could have used fire arrows... Aside from the front structure, the housing of that battering ram looked like it was mainly out of wood...

Great episode!!

Epona was funny about the extinguishing fire

So there was the empire's spy.. that;s why they are all updated everytime Gaius makes a move..

Fighting along for my friends was something else, it's truly being a true warrior..

Now Brigantes in action!!

it would be risky but they should have used the rathy missile on it. high damage, and if they hit the appropriate places, it will fall and be useless.

I just noticed too. If I remember correctly, when the party first time came to Avalon, Limwris (or was it Ermin?) shocked that people came through the gate and explained that the Gate of Life can only be opened by Pwyll and Arawn only, hence why they need to break the gate with the ram.

But in previous episode, Octavia and Morgan (plus Rathty) came back through the gate, we can even see the gate opened a bit very clearly. I'm guessing maybe only people already came through the gate can open open it again or maybe the staff is slacking again making this big mistake.

This show is growing on me a lot, really like the castle siege animation.

Bit annoyed with a few things though, the minstrel's army was ready - just waiting for the right words... are you kidding me?
The Gaels army is still standing by, who will be leading them? The dragon man is gone fighting the golem (really wanted to see more of this!) and the two girls are already in the castle.

Well Faramir and Legolas....excuse me Octavia and Morgan were an essential part of the defense of Avalon and accounted for a lot of Imperial casualties as well as helping to prevent the walls from being scaled. In fact all of the harem played their part (house elves and Epona working the bucket brigade as they have not combat magic or capability). The gate had been sealed by Arawn during the Great War, when he left to take part in the final battle. Once he unsealed it on his return it is possible to open it, however it and the walls still have powerful magic that helps prevent their breach. Now that the gate has been broken, it will require a relieving force to rescue the castle inhabitants. As for the Brigantes standing ready, Taliesin is is nowhere near as casual or haphazard as he appears, while not Chieftain in name he has been running the tribe from the background and probably knew exactly why Arthur was there and was prepared for the request. By the by, Taliesin comes into his own now and plays a vital role in the remaining story.

Hmm, dunno what good is in introducing Pwyll and Primula without any backstory.. it simply doesn't make sense.
But if their goal was to have people wonder... well, they kinda achieved it.

Also, Arthur wins the price for the most dumb and pathetic character of this series. His speech was done utterly bad and needless exposition was all over the place.

The scene when Taliesin's tribe joins Arthur is also explained weakly, they joined him solely because both tribes were scions of the Pwyll, brothers if you will, and because it was revealed Arthur is his direct descendant. In anime it looked liked Arthur just wanted them to help his unrelated tribe in the name of the friendship while in the game it was obvious they were trying reunite with their long lost brothers (as both tribes had the same origin) and help them maintain their own identity rather than being absorbed by the empire.

Nice episode overall. Arthur apparently grew up. I hope he stays an adult throughout the rest of the series. We've already had way more than enough of the 12 years old Arthur.

The light show during the alliance talk felt like watching a stage play. With lights focusing on the main characters

and of course a Naruto Cameo

btw does anyone know how to use the BBcode for inserting pictures? I used the code from the guide that shows up when you press the BBCode button, didn't work.
