Both are slow-paced, easy going anime with a loveable and calm lead character.

A story about travelling and meeting people.

The curtains fall on humanity and the players are beckoned off the stage. However, despite this, life continues on. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou And Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou are both Slice of Life series that take place after the apocalypse (for lack of a better word). Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou follows two young girls as they travel through the remnants of a destroyed city while Yokohama Kaidashi Kikuo is about the everyday life of a robot named Alpha. Both series have an episodic narrative structure and have a deep connection to the "Mono no Aware" style that Japanese fiction is known for. Both Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou and Yokohama Kidaishi  read more

Androids in a cafe setting. Both very calming stories.

After having a bad day there are a couple of things you can do to unwind, among them watching certain shows. Both Bartender and YKK are nothing short of comfy, giving the exact same vibes while watching them. Not only do they sound and look relaxing, they basically tell you to wrap yourself in a blanket and simply relish it all while you can. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or what have you and have a good time.

La Maison is an animated short whose premise and feeling both reminded me of YKK. Both animes feature a future in which the world has flooded and in both cases this leads to deep feelings of nostalgia and longing for the past.

Despite one being kinda old and one is still feel freshed, both share same really relaxing vibe. If you like Yuru Camp, YKK is a must watch SoL anime.

They are both very slow, without an 'action & adventure-plot' If you like slice-of-life and a bit of fantasy, you will enjoy both these anime.

I've only seen the first three episodes of Non Non Biyori, but it immediately reminded me of YKK because of its laid-back slice of country life appeal. The girls are cute and I love their curiousity and discoveries through out each of the series. NNB is a bit "cuter" though.

Seems like Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou might be a spiritual ancestor to Violet Evergarden watch it because of that -slow mellow tempo in rural area -female protagonist is a human looking machine-doll -focused on simple daily life

Slice of life's that are relaxing to watch and go abouts on a mellow way of life. Aside from what normally happens in their shows, they have beautiful and magical moments in their worlds too. Their OSTs are relaxing but they do share the use of GONTITI, in the entirety of Amanchu! and the 1st OVA of YKK. I like to lump YKK, Aria, and Amanchu! together due to similarities in its nature of feel but in its use of composers for their OSTs too.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (both the first OVA and the second, called Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe) and Flying Witch are both healing, calming animes. Both rely on quiet character interactions and relatively small but meaningful occurrences to determine the story -- plot is not so important. The settings are different, but both pay a lot of attention to the natural world and its importance to daily life. Both shows will leave you feeling at peace, but also somewhat sad because you know they have to end.

Super Cub is the only anime I've seen that manages to capture the ambiance that YKK has, though I'm referring more to the YKK manga than this OVA. It's slow, it's relaxing, the soundtrack has a lot of piano and classical pieces by Debussy and it's a rare modern anime to have high quality shot composition. Backgrounds are memorable not because they're beautiful but because they're immersive. The problem with a lot of shows or manga that try to emulate YKK is that they're too romanticised or emotionally charged. And while Super Cub definitely is an emotively directed anime that does romanticise cubs, it doesn't do  read more

Both are relaxing slice of life anime. Both have a focus on cameras and pictures, although with YKK this is a bit less so and mostly in the first episode.

chill iyashikei sol hidden gems with beautiful scenery and light comedy, very easy to fall asleep to IN A GOOD WAY THOUGH, and both are short, making them great to pick up since they have little commitment needed

Both series are about characters going about their business and living their lives, and a world that is slowly transforming and fading away. Both series contemplate the meaning of life, and reflect upon the ends of eras.

Relaxing meditation on the fragility and beauty of life, tradition and culture. Set after the events of a world changing event, in Frieren it's a good one but in Yokohama it's a bad one. They shows are easy-going with light folksy type music. there is drama but it's not heavy-handed stated matter-o-factly or with proper weight.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is the quintessential tranquil anime. It paints a picture of wonderfully laid back countryside life, with warm relationships between characters. And of course, there is the relaxingly slow pace, unmatched in anime as far as I'm concerned. Most of that can also be said for The Diary of Tortov Roddle. In this anime, a traveler goes on a journey across rather peaceful landscapes to all sorts of different places. There is no dialogue, only the travel notes written by Mr. Roddle. Both shows will warm your heart.

While Nagi no Asukara is more of a school tale romance and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is a slice of life, iyashikei the feel of a town by the sea is so strong for both of them that the ambiance reminds me of each of them. The beautiful end theme of Nagi makes me feel like I am walking through Alpha's world.

Both have similar settings: a lush, green, things-got-better post-apocalyptic world. Sora no Woto focuses more on the interaction between the characters, while Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou centers on Alpha and her solo journey.

Both of these animes are peaceful paced, dreamy stories which contain a refreshing combination of the mundane and the supernatural. Both of them also refuse to wrap up all of their mysteries completely clearly, leaving a lot to the viewer's imagination

Both have a bit of mono no aware, and focus on protagonists who don't age. While Yokohama was made over a decade ago, its animation is subtly beautiful, just as Hotarubi no Mori's is.

Both are futuristic, both talk about androids helping humans and deal with the feeling of loneliness.

These anime feature characters that focus on little details that make up the worlds around them. They help to remind the viewer of things that they may have missed or forgotten in nature or in life, making them both very relaxing.

Surrealistic slice of life about the decline of the mankind. Bittersweet, warm-hearted and a little bit philosophical.

As humanity is on the verge of collapse, lesbian main characters that are both not normal human beings (if human at all) make their way through a post-apocalyptic world.
