Kai Byoui Ramune

i really loved it, but -1 point for having a loli character. although i've grown to just accept it because you really can't escape pedophilic and/or incestuous themes in japanese media.

the plot was good and well-paced enough for me to watch all 12 episodes in one sitting, which rarely happens for me because i'm adhd.

it's been about 4 years now so it's very unlikely, but i'm hoping this gets a second season!

if you're looking for something similar to this, i highly recommend morose mononokean. very similar theme (but instead of "mysterious" it's yokai) and similar characters (except the personalities of the master and apprentice are ... flipped lol).

This anime honestly feels like a very good combination of slice of life meets the mysterious. The anime was very calm and had certain qualities that feel not expressed well like the comedy. It's older and gave it everything I think it could. Not disappointing in the slightest with its characters being easy to understand with good character development. If this anime had a dub it would have been a show I throughly would have enjoyed. Its story is good and killer music that is a non stop vibe made the final episodes really easy to watch. For everything I saw it met and surpassed ... my expectations, interesting enough for me to keep watching, memorable story but it did not have what the greatest anime have because of how characters are expressed and the voice acting being ok, nothing special but definitely not bad. A dub would have made this perfect for casual anime watchers who like dub because this anime is perfect for people who are staying up way to late because they are bored and want to watch something. The only problem is whenever I do that my eyes burn so dub would be nice.

A show where everything is overdramatized. The male lead is always smiling in a way that's supposed to be either cheeky or cool or whatever but only comes off as completely cringe every time - i can't imagine anyone above 14 watching this anime without cringing every 5 minutes

To be honest, the basis of the story sounded pretty appealing but the writing and execution was just terrible. The comedy is bad, the main characters aren't memorable, the side characters always scream for no reason, like they're in some sort of low budget reality tv drama

*slight spoiler alert* Episode 2 is what completely ruined any chances ... for this show. The take-home message of episode 2 is basically: if a guy cheats on you with other 7 girls, as long as he apologizes, it's all cool. Bro, have some common sense - if a person is cheating on you with 7 other freaking people, then get the f*ck out of that relationship and completely remove him from your life. What's up with this immature vision of romance?

To sum up this anime: immature and cringe
