Synopsis

Despite being bullied, scorned, and oppressed all of his life, a 34-year-old shut-in still found the resolve to attempt something heroic—only for it to end in a tragic accident. But in a twist of fate, he awakens in another world as Rudeus Greyrat, starting life again as a baby born to two loving parents.

Preserving his memories and knowledge from his previous life, Rudeus quickly adapts to his new environment. With the mind of a grown adult, he starts to display magical talent that exceeds all expectations, honing his skill with the help of a mage named Roxy Migurdia. Rudeus learns swordplay from his father, Paul, and meets Sylphiette, a girl his age who quickly becomes his closest friend.

As Rudeus' second chance at life begins, he tries to make the most of his new opportunity while conquering his traumatic past. And perhaps, one day, he may find the one thing he could not find in his old world—love.

Mushoku Tensei is one of those controversial animes, some people hate it, some people love it, and it seems like this latter category is the majority since this anime is ranked quite high on myanimelist.

Is this a good anime ? Yes definitely, I enjoyed watching this and started watching the other seasons right after. But before we go any further, you should be aware of something IMPORTANT : the controversy is justified and while there aren't any shocking scenes per se, some choices made regarding the main character and his traits are questionnable to say the least. The MC is depicted as a true ...

Mixed Feelings
The initial segment of the debut season of Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu serves as a decent starting point for the series, albeit without any groundbreaking elements. It unfolds at a rather measured pace, primarily dedicated to fleshing out the world, which happens to be one of the anime's notable strengths. However, the characters come across as rather unsavory, making it challenging to fully rally behind any one individual. While the animation holds up well in action sequences, it falls short in other moments. Aside from the animation, the visuals maintain a consistent quality, blending well with the designs of the characters. The series ...

My God! This story is a prime example of how luck can sway the entertainment industry. With the hype around Isekai anime being raised to the roof by entries like: Re:Zero, Overlord, Slime & Konosuba getting big returns for studios and investors, it seemed like a guaranteed success. But alas, when it finally aired, it did more harm than good, denting the genre's reputation irreparably.

As previously mentioned, back in the 2010s, we had gems like Re:Zero, Konosuba, Slime, Overlord, and even Ascendance of a Bookworm, each contributing to the rise of Isekai as the next big thing in the anime medium while this one ...
