Even though I've rated this anime 10/10, I promise this is not sarcasm or humour. I genuinely enjoyed this anime, and here's why.

Most importantly this anime is only one minute long - therefore, it didn't take any effort or time for me to watch this.
It's on YouTube so it's free.
It's a short comedy, and it made me laugh. My sense of humour is definitely immature, but this anime still did the job. It made me laugh. You can't say it's a bad anime if it successfully did what it was made to do!
Yes the production values are rubbish, but I truly believe entertainment ... should be rated on it's entertainment value, and not it's production value. I enjoyed this anime, so I've rated it a ten.
The story is simple, so it's easy to watch, but it's also quite up to interpretation what the story means exactly.
It's original. I wasn't expecting anything that happened, and I commend the creator for coming up with this!

Well... this will be short. Shitcom it's pretty... unique and at first it may seem shocking. Just saying but the title it's expressive so prepare yourself.

Just a tip, but you would want to watch this when you are alone if you don't want anyone to think you are a freak.

At first sight it seems like something random, made out of boredom, something like a parody or something. Just a tentative of bad, dark, sick comedy. Don't expect too much from the art either, at first I even doubted if it has any relation with Japan or anime. But, in my opinion, the thing ... that makes this worth watching it's the message and that is, if you love someone you accept it as it is without judging.

Still a better love story then Twilight xD

I've seen some short silent animations in my life. Their value lies in telling a meaningful story in as few cels as possible, through some inventive technique and quite often comedic idea. This short video can hardly be called an anime. It's an amateur clay animation. Other than being, probably, made by a Japanese, it differs from what we usually consider to be genuine 'anime'.

That being said, what purpose does this animation serve? It takes 68 seconds to watch. It's a silent clay animation. And it tells us that no matter how much of a shitty performance you can make, the ones who love you ... will always be there for you to cheer you up.

It's neither good, nor bad. It's an amateur animation, it serves its purpose, but it's not really worth discussion. I don't think it should be placed on mal listings, for reasons mentioned before.

TL;DR: A claymotion 1 minute short. It's fairly famous on MAL for being your 1/10 entry example. I tried to give if an objective review.

Story: A man and a woman sit in a restaurant. The woman has stomach issues, and the man proposes to her with a ring. Both orally excrement poop, and are embarrassedly looking at each other. The short closes with both of them smiling at each other in abashment. 4/10

Animation: The short uses clay-motion. Movement is fluid, detail grade compared to other clay-motion movies is slightly below average but not really bad. Camera work is present, different angles and cuts are used. ... 4/10.

Sound: Public domain classical music is used, and there is a collywobbles sound effect. The latter is important for the plot. In total, not very much effort in the sound department. 1/10

Character: The two protagonists are sufficiently characterized by the environment they are in, behaviouralisms, and clothing. This is probably the most you can do in such a short run-time and without words. Emotions (shame, embarrassment) are made visible. So while there is some character design and advancement, the protagonists remain on the level of actors performing a skit, I do not develop emotions for them. 3/10

Enjoyment: Given the run-time of just a minute, there is plot advancement. The plot is certainly a metaphor on human communication and superficiality. Using poop as such is certainly a radical shortcut, and has shock value. On the first viewing, you will only remember the shock value part. It grows on you if you watch repeatedly, transcending trash and camp level. My rating definition for "painful, but better than camp/trash" is a 3/10.

Overall: (4+4+1+3+3)/5=3, above trash level where animation and story originality are the pros. I'm still deducting one point for the mind bleach you need afterwards. 2/10

Don't let my rating fool you. I agree despite it's shitty taste (pun) it did have a nice message on relationships. When we are pairing off with mates it takes a lot out of us. It is very rare that we devulge all our secrets. For our secrets are not always pleasant.

The message can also we seen as we are all asses. No matter what we say we all make mistakes. Try as we will we can not fight it. To see each other at their worst is the best way to know if the relationship will ... stand a chance. Bare all cards don't shield.

However, honestly speaking whom is going to stay let alone kiss after that? Say what you will about people having kind hearts. Realistic wise this wont happen. I can however see and hear 'check please'.

I saw this almost exactly 9 years ago, and if I remember right, I found it BECAUSE it was the lowest rated thing on the site at the time. YouTube randomly recommended one of Takena's recent animations, Midnight Vampire (highly recommend btw), to me the other day and I went through their other uploads to be pleasantly surprised by coming across Shitcom again. I honestly had no idea that the funny 60 second long poop claymation I watched 9 years ago was made by the same person.

Yes yes, poop is gross, pretty polarizing. If you have an ounce of media literacy, though, you'll realize this ... is actually an allegory about loving someone in spite of their baggage. I like the message and it's well-executed. Even if I rated it 10/10 as a joke 9 years ago, it is a genuine work of art. And I highly recommend checking out Takena's YouTube channel (@takena) in general. They don't upload often, but when they do, they never miss.

Ironically, Shitcom is one of Takena's tamer works. I haven't seen any other depictions of scat, but the gore goes hard.

Ohh how the curiosity killed the cat...and wasted a minute of LA's sanity. Short and putrid.

Ok, LA won't spoil by all reasoning as to what this "anime" is but seriously the title explains all.

Animation is nothing but claymation and for what this "anime" spurts out, LA doesn't even know to take this as a good thing or not. (But considering LA gave ALL the scoring a 1...what do YOU think LA thinks about this overall?)

It's only a minute, but ya wanna know what...even a minute isn't worth it as to what the ending result of that one minute gave LA.

Considering that there is almost ... NO information about this "anime short" in the slightest, LA thinks even that is a good thing as NO ONE wouldn't be associated with this at all.

"Talk dirty to me..."

Shitcom is a romance comedy that is written, produced and animated by the GOAT that is Nagao Takena. Being 1 minute long, it was able to pack in a much better story, much better well-written and well-developed characters, than any other show or movie (like Twilight for example) could have possibly done. It even features an excellent range of classical music that fits so perfectly within the restaurant scene. This is the best example of 'true love' in any form of entertainment

This show focuses on an often-occurring health issue that is plaguing the world, especially in first-world countries, and that would be ... Fecal vomiting. Fecal vomiting is a kind of vomiting wherein the material vomited is of fecal origin. It is a common symptom of gastrojejunocolic fistula and intestinal obstruction in the ileum. Fecal vomiting is often accompanied by an odor of feces on the breath and other gastrointestinal symptoms, including abdominal pain, abdominal distension, dehydration, and diarrhea. In severe cases of bowel obstruction or constipation (such as those related to clozapine treatment) fecal vomiting has been identified as a cause of death.

Fecal vomiting occurs when the bowel is obstructed for some reason, and intestinal contents cannot move normally. Peristaltic waves occur in an attempt to decompress the intestine, and the strong contractions of the intestinal muscles push the contents backwards through the pyloric sphincter into the stomach, where they are then vomited.

This show was able to perfectly capture the horror that Fecal vomiting can cause to oneself, and the trauma loved ones can experience when they see their partner or family member become a victim of the dreaded disease. I would also recommend you watch South Park S6E8, titled "Red Hot Catholic Love", which also shines a light on this issue at hand of shitting out of your mouth.

Being a comedy, I unironically found this enjoyable to watch, so I'm gonna give this show a higher rating than what you would see down at the bottom of the barrel of MAL's ratings.

So... I went on to myanimelist and out of curiosity I wanted to see what was last on the list according to the ratings. Yep this is it, and I agree with the placement.

I guess you could take this to mean something just like those that look at art can say that a blank canvas means a thousand things. It's still a blank canvas just like this is still a couple litraly crapping out of their mouths for about half the video.

Honestly I envy those that can see imagine a meaning with no basis for it, for at least that means they didn't waste 1 ... minute watching that video. Unfortunatly I'm not one of those people and it can only qualify for a simple 1/10 in my book.

The music is good though, Luigi Boccherini with Minuet is always good.

Even though this is only 1 minute long, don't bother watching it as a joke. It's absoloutely horrible and has no redeeming points. Any review giving this a score higher than 1, is no doubt a troll. For some reason, everyone thinks they're the funniest dude ever, because they give Shitcom a 10/10 or praise it as a masterpiece. But don't be fooled, Shitcom cannot be considered anything but trash.

The art is made up out of stop motion clay, which obviously leaves plenty to be desired, even Ping Pong the Animation has better art than this.

The sound is the worst, and 70% of ... the anime is just farting noises.

I don't even know why this is even on MAL in the first place.

You'd think out of all of Takena's works, it'd be Chainsaw Maid or even Lemon Home Animation Theater Episode 2 that would get people's attention. Nope, it's Shitcom.

Takena does so much with facial expressions and it's really cute. The way they quickly change facial expressions to fit the situation is quirky and heartwarming.

Also, claymation is the perfect medium for showing off disgusting stuff. The shit looks like real shit and yet this short is suitable for all ages on YouTube. Pretty cool, huh?

Enjoy Shitcom for the fun and simple short it is, that does what it wanted to do. The premise is silly, ... the animation executes it well, and you're left with a happy ending. Don't shit on a flower just because a tree is taller. Rather, watch more of Takena's work. He's very creative. Pretty skilled when it comes to the animation aspect too.

Found out it was available on YouTube. Yeah, it can't be as bad as everyone says... Wrong. I found this from a forum topic asking for the worst-rated animes on this site. It deserves a 2.80 rating, it's lucky it's not a 1.

This is incredibly gross. The poo coming out of the couple's mouth is incredibly disgusting. The woman's tummy rumbling made me feel uneasy. Just honestly despicable. How is this called an anime? Just disgusting.

Huh, the name really fits, doesn't it? I feel disgusting just thinking about it and ... imagining it in my own head. WHY?

If you want to watch it, it's readily available on YouTube. Do it at your own risk. If you want a graphic short of a couple vomiting poo out of their mouths and still being able to love each other, that's okay.

I just remembered that this was one of my banned reviews, apparently, I was being funny when I was totally legit serious. I will explain why now.

Shitcom is a comedy. Comedy is a hit or miss. But Shitcom takes comedy, turns it on its head, and does what is apparently, "subtle", things with general conventions like toilet humour.

Firstly, "no real story", "no real characters", art is fine, sounds are good, all of these factors are mostly irrelevant though. Let's talk about why this is enjoyable instead.

Shitcom is basically everything in real life. I cannot go a week, hell even a day, without someone bringing toilet ... humour or sexual jokes. It is literally incorporated into everyday life. Shitcom takes this and makes something funny out of it, it comes about randomly, but that is what you get from the unexpected. What Shitcom does though is that it takes this overused comedy category, and not only makes it funny by being random but also shows how paradoxically, the hivemind audience literally proves how great this is, because face it, sex jokes are so overused I literally don't think that any humour can come out of them, unless it is some kind of masterpiece like Interspecies Reviewers. Partly why r/copypasta is literally one of the worst (and best) subreddits I've seen in a while. With this overuse of sexual jokes, then everyone slandering such works being the everything here, was, well, "shit", it goes and proves that yes, indeed, it is shit, but that is also everything in real life for you.

Shitcom is the ultimate parody. So many more ideas can arise from this as I have just barely scratched the surface of what is probably the most misunderstood anime in existence.

This might be the worst "anime" I have ever watch...

The story (1) is pathetic as it is predictable and just plain weird and stupid.
The sound (2) isn't any better... (just a bunch of stomach problems sound effects...)
Art (3) is the best thing there is, which is still bad. It is claymation.
Characters (1) are just there for show, and enjoyment (1) ... well there isn't any to be had in my honest opinion...
Overall score is a 1 as I felt that i have not gained any enjoyment out of that, and ... probably you won't either.

I'm honestly not sure what I expected out of watching this; nothing really, I suppose. I just decided to watch because I was going through another user's list and the name caught my eye.

I'm one of those immature fools whose attention can be easily caught by lame words like "shit" and well, guess what my little eye caught onto when I saw "Shitcom." So, I was curious. I wondered, "Shit as in English shit" or "shit because it's the Japanese translation of "sitcom" since there's no "si" noise in Japanese.

And the video was only a minute so I thought, what's the harm?
Well... Let ... me tell you... A LOT of harm. I looked the video up on YouTube and liteally spent the whole time trying to figure out if I'd found the right one. To my horror, I did. Frankly, other than for having a Japanese director, I'm not sure why this is on MyAnimeList at all since it's claymation...

And let me tell you that it is exactly as promised.

Shitcom isn't very good. There was no way it was going to be. What really interests me is the intention behind shitcom. Was Takena trying to express his view on modern relationships? Was he simply trying to create something controversial that would put his name out there? Was he trying to create something controversial and use this allegory as a means of getting folks that recognize it to check out his other work? For the quality of Shitcom that doesn't really matter. Shitcom is disgusting. It makes for a terrible viewing experience. No matter how convoluted your phrasing is you can't escape from that. You ... may be thinking "it's one minute long. there's no way it can be THAT bad. shows that most claim are that bad are never that bad". Yet Shitcom manages to be just that, which I guess is an accomplishment in itself. Objectively looking at it as an art work it has a lot mor value than most stuff these days and pretty much any fanservice nonsense. Just......don't watch it. It's not fun. It makes you want to throw up.

while there is romantic merit to shitcom, to give it a score any higher than 1 would be ridiculous. having shitcom on any anime review site would be like putting some random low-quality tiktok onto letterboxd, or some random fanfiction from wattpad onto goodreads.

story: 2/10
the story's rather basic, but given this is a minute long, you can't go into it expecting something that you'd get from a 13-episode anime. two lovers are at a restaurant, and one of them barfs out poop. the other one does the same, and they have a heartwarming moment as they realize one of their similarities. vulgarities aside, it's ... actually something and it was honestly a bit touching, if not gross.

art: 1/10
claymation is a genre of animation hard to get right, and this is honestly a good example as to why. it's very stilted and the character designs are incredibly ugly, but it's to be expected when you don't have a huge team of people making sure everything's running smoothly.

sound: 1/10
i'm going to assume most of the budget here went towards the director's food and topped out at 1000 yen anyway, but the ost is incredibly generic stock music and sound effects are minimal.

enjoyment: 5/10
despite how mediocre it is, i enjoyed it quite a bit. i didn't enjoy it like i would a tv anime or an anime movie or anything like that, but i found it oddly touching. there's an existing emotional weight to it which is honestly quite the achievement for an animation like this to have.

overall: 1/10
i'm not giving this a 1/10 because it's abhorrent and a disgrace towards anime. i'm giving it a 1/10 because there's no feasible way that a 1-minute short directed and created by one person can compare to the kinds of shows that you would watch on television. for what it is, it's honestly pretty good, but when its competitors have hourly wages that put what i expect the budget towards this animation was to shame, it's impossible for this to be any higher than a 1. if i were to compare this to other low-budget independent films that look like an animation student's freshman year project, though, it'd probably be around a 6/10.
