'Shin Tennis no Oujisama: U-17 World Cup' TV Anime Announced for 2022

The Tennis no Oujisama 20th anniversary event announced a new anime series titled Shin Tennis no Oujisama: U-17 World Cup (The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup) on Sunday, scheduled for a 2022 premiere. The official website also revealed the production staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and an announcement promo. The cast members are returning from the previous installments.

This marks the first television anime for the franchise in ten years since Shin Tennis no Oujisama (The Prince of Tennis II) aired in 2012. The new television anime will take place after the events in the Shin Tennis no Oujisama OVA vs. Genius 10 (The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs Genius10).

The original sports manga by Takeshi Konomi ran in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1998 and 2008. The sequel manga began in Jump SQ. the following year. Shueisha published the 34th volume on September 8.

The manga series inspired multiple anime adaptations, the latest of which, Ryouma! The Prince of Tennis Shinsei Movie: Tennis no Oujisama, opened in Japan on September 3. The Shin Tennis no Oujisama: Hyoutei vs. Rikkai - Game of Future (The New Prince of Tennis: Hyoutei vs. Rikkai - Game of Future) net anime debuted in two parts on February 13 and April 17 this year.

finally this is what everyone has been waiting for so that their end would not be delayed, I had already lost the hopes when they announced the CGI movie but at the end of the tunnel there was a ray of hope

This was one sports anime that despite airing on Toonami, I never actually sat down and watched it and now idk if I have to drive to do it despite this new season being announced

It's been years and we still get even more content?
Definetly going to watch as a long time tennis fan.
