Why should popularity on MAL have anything to do with it? It doesn't change the situation at all.

I would like to say the same thing but if we do that, it'd set an inconvenient precedent all-around. For previews, it wouldn't be a problem but it'd get amplified elsewhere.

I guess we can skip Parasite Dolls, but for future cases, could time between reissues make it relevant? I mean, if they were to re-license an anime that has been in licensing limbo for a decent amount of time (e.g. Scrapped Princess, which disappeared in 2011), would that be considered? Unlike in this case where it just jumped to a different licensor with a small time gap.

Just an idea.

Yeah. I think that is a good idea. To be honest, I think we should just decide this on a case-to-case basis, with the time elapsed being one of the important points of consideration.

Thank you both for the info. The OP has been updated! ^_^

Not 100% sure when it was originally acquired, but from a search it looks like Madman got it sometime in 2005.

Would the fact that it was rescued by a new licensor make it worthy of the list?

Their post says it's a reissue. I don't think it's worth mentioning here. Plus (as much as I hate using this as a reason) it really isn't a very popular anime.

But I guess this sets a precedent for future cases, should ones similar to this arise. I guess we could add the anime in question to the list if the license gets transferred or if the anime is very popular on MAL or if the anime was originally licensed (by another vendor) a very long time ago. I've worded this a bit ambiguously in order to ensure that we'll have some amount of flexibility over this. : )

If anybody has inputs about this issue, feel free to comment.

MVM's aforementioned license of Kokoro Connect includes the OVAs:

Looks like it's a reissue. Not sure if I should add it to the list. Any idea when the license was originally acquired?

Thank you for listing all those licenses. All updated! ^^

Aniplex of America has announced at their panel at MCM expo that MVM have licensed the first 8 Kara no Kyoukai films for UK release as a collection on DVD only (apparently the Japanese don't want it released on BR elsewhere except as an import of the Japanese version). Currently slated for October.
