It's pretty hard not to notice that. What the hell are they doing there.
Then again not everyone have read the manga or watched FMA1, so it's possible that someone didn't notice it :P

This show just seems to get better and better with each episode.

- Nice shot of Izumi and her husband in the background.
- Winry and the Hughes family scene was just adorable.
- The whole Ed and Al quarrel was nicely done too.

And I know a lot of people are gonna be crying when episode 10 comes about, but hopefully after that episode, we'll get to see some new material form the manga, such as Ling

I saw it, too.
Had to look back to check if it was for real.

Really nice episode.
Teared up when Al told Ed about his suspicions and there reconciliation.
Next episode is going to give me the blues all over again.

Awesome ep, as usual. Winry was great, the Ed Al stuff was great, Hughes was great. I love that they kept the bit where he pulls the gun at Elicia's birthday party. XD
Thought the bit at the end with Scar was really well done.

Get your hankies ready for next week, we're gonna need them. ;___;
They better keep in the "It's raining" exchange between Roy and Riza. I love that part.

yeah This episode was great :) It made me love Winry even more xD and I almost cried haha!!! Im def going to be cyring on the next episode T__T!

This was such a beautiful episode.
And I'm glad the misunderstanding between Ed and Al was done in one episode.
And Hughes looked really cool. <3

I'm definitely not looking forward to next week.

Ok episode. Hughes was funny, but that was about it. The whole thing with Ed and Al was just so extraneous to me, and went off about how I expected it. Winry hitting Al after the little flashback was pretty awkward. It would have been nice to have gotten more with either Winry and Ed or Hughes, but oh well.

The first Brotherhood episode I really enjoyed :) The pacing was perfect for me. It was also good to see Ed and Al handle the "armor doll" problem in a better and quicker manner.

2 or 3 things I didn't like or get -

1. The person narrating the story so far(when will they change him? I can't stand his voice.)

2. Why did Winry's voice sound like Ed's when she was yelling at him on the phone?(04:49)

3. Scar being washed down the sewer was shown as a chibi(or whatever it's said). That was a serious thing, not something to be shown as chibi imo.

so state alchemist are equal to majors in the military, didn't know that; and how does armstrong get out of his shirt so fast? and hughes was so funny, how many kids could say their father pulled out a gun on they're friends at they're 3rd birthday party? rofl

I liked the episode overall but I preferred Ed and Al's misunderstanding in the first series. It seemed more realistic. This one seemed glossed over and rushed. That said I have a feeling I'm still going to cry even knowing what's about to happen in the next episode. NO! T_T

It was Ed's voice because it was his imagination and he was imitating what Winry would've said about him getting his arm damaged again.

What? It was shown as a chibi? I was pretty sure they showed half his face and left shoulder floating down the sewer in all seriousness. I didn't spot any chibi thing.

The pacing was perfect, the blend of comedy and tragedy really brought out the fantastic chemistry that is FMA, in fact, I would say that imo they handled the whole thing much more skillfully then in the first adaptation, back then I had this nagging feeling that it was kind of forced and stretched out, this was a pleasant surprise, it flowed so naturally...

Im glad they are exploring different angles, interpretations and scenes to give us a sublime experience that both follows the manga and still manages to explore and expand, after all the main aim of an anime adaptation should be to expand upon the world created in the manga, to bring it to life, to 'animate' it in ways beyond those of simple movement and colour...

aaaah now im really getting into this, cant wait for next week, i want to FEEEEL ! >.<

Ok, admit it, who cried? Because I did.
Hughes is made of win. Poor kids, he scared them to death xD
And I hope I won't catch any spoilers for the next ep, I never watched the first version and haven't read the manga yet so...All I know is that it's sad, looking at your ';____; prepare your tissues' comments...

I liked this episode after having recently read the first five volumes of the manga. It followed it near enough perfectly, only removing the part where Armstrong had hurt Ed more in the hospital by hugging him and adding some Barry lines to go alongside Al's depressive thoughts.

...actually, now that I think about it, I think there was one big cut - the scene where Bradley goes to the hosptial. I can't remember if that's supposed to be in the next episode...

Episode 10 should be very good. Not as powerful as it was in the first series because, in the manga, Maes didn't have much time before it (the preview show the animation team are going to add some filler, though) but it still should be moving.

What everyone has with that episode, that's just as much as I disliked to have to watch the episode again with the chimaera... And now this. Dang it.

Anyhow, nice episode. Winry meets Hughes, haha. I almost thought they were going to do Caramelldansen... O_o Winry was cool, actually smacking Al with the wrench. The one true way to hurt an armor.

It was a really good episode, best so far in terms of funny. Felt a bit rushed, but given the complaints about how it apparently dragged on in the first anime I guess that makes sense.

Next episode is apparently really sad. I think I've figured out what happens in it but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Anime seasons are 12-13 episodes. 12.5*5 = 62.5.
