Kämpfer just keeps getting better. Oh, and once you get past the admittedly small amount of 3D, Bantorra looks to be pretty good. Check out at least the first episode.
Thank you for asking. However, I've been trying to grab some screenshots, but unluckily keep downloading the wrong file. Once I get back on a machine with a torrent client, I will answer.
• Kampfer's so bad it's good. "Why is it so hard to pronounce?" "It's German, you retard!" They then proceed to hunt out the German dictionary in the school library. Also, no fourth wall; characters call each other So-and-so sound-alikes as insults, using the character's VA. And then there's the ED — ready-made Caramel Dansen.
Epic Darker Than Black marathon was... a little less than epic. It was very addicting, and a good series (talking about the first season), but it didn't seem to have a very substantial plot. Or maybe it's just me. Probably the most fleshed out character was Huang, or the inspector.
I'm behind enough that I'll be skipping the end season/beginning season blogs, so I'll throw some stuff at you here:
• You didn't like Basquash? I watched it with rather low expectations, but it met those expectations perfectly. Still not sure if it was taking itself seriously or not, though. Don't you dare bring up Needless; that just didn't have the magic.
• Armed Librarians/Bantorra whatever has some great music, but awful Gonzo 3D. It's a little iffy, but better than I initially expected.
• Letter Bee looks to be somewhat good. And I'm pretty sure I was right when I guessed demons were going to be involved. If not that, some kind of dark magic/plot twist thingey. The monsters (that are the main enemy so far) cry and emit captured human souls glowing snowflakes when they're killed, for fuck's sake.
• Asura Cryin' 2 is as good or bad as the first one, but with more plot.
• Railgun is... meeting any expectations people had for it.
my japanese bruce willis clone is disappoint, since i was also talking about s2 lol.... were you waiting for the anbu subs? ....the first two eps have been out by other subbers for a while and all of them are fairly slow since episode 5 airs in three days.
This is getting back at me for sending you that Rammstein music vid, isn't it. X|
Although that one quote still cracks me up, tho I don't remember the situation (too long ago). You know the one...
So, I basically wasted the entire day on TVTropes. Hadn't done that in a while. Can't remember what I was originally looking up on there...
As i said before, the guy's basically a blond shota MANkoto (name's Sora). But before that, here's the family situation. There's a milf (o/c) mom with three kids, apparently single. Two of these kids are twins (guy & girl, Sora & Nami). Except. She's not. The mom. It's the twin of the real mom who was killed by a car. That in itself isn't bad; actually, it's a pretty cool plot device, especially since the-really-aunt hangs a lampshade on it when she meets her dead sister's kids in the hospital ("It had to be twins..."). Note only the older girl (Aki) who-isn't-a-twin actually knows this, and is the one who told her aunt not to tell the younger ones.
Moving on. The basic premise is that Aki & Sora are a little more than just siblings. We've heard this one a dozen times: "Siblings are very close, people tease them about it, usually the boy starts avoiding the other, they have a heart-to-heart, then bang." Yeah, one of those. Ok, so now we've added a *mostly* secret incestuous relationship to the mix. Still not too much.
Aha! Is that a rival I see?! Indeed, for — wait, scratch that, need to present the setting. Sora is a girly boy, Nami is a boyish girl. Nami's part of a 'cosplay club' (WTF), to which she conscripted her twin brother for the purpose of a dress-up doll. Now we get two rivals out of this. First, there's Sora's classmate who's an exhibitionist. They just happen to live in the same apartment complex, and just happen to meet at an elevator. Miss-generic-sexaholic-who-I-can't-remember-her-name is in the process of baring herself to the door, while poor Sora is going out on and arrand dressed like a girl for losing a bet or something. Instant love on her part. (There's a supposedly-traumatic chapter where she takes him to some kind of orgy, which only makes things better.)
Then the second. Nami's only clubmate has a crush on Sora, so Nami helps the two try to get together. Note that Nami also is suspicious about her siblings' relationship. Yeah, so then she accidentally witnesses her friend give Sora a job. Wait, it gets better.
Guess what? Nami is yuri for her friend. No, not that kind of yuri. I mean yandere. Though she orchestrated it, she can't stand seeing her love being stolen by her brother. She has several monologues to the import that she wishes she was born with a dick, and blames everything on Sora. OK, this is where it really gets good. She snaps, at least mostly. Nami proceeds to attack her brother with a pair of scissors, threatening to... lop it off and take it for herself. She gets so caught up she rapes him, thinking of her friend. When Nami realizes what she has done, she threatens to actually cut it off if he tells.
It can only 'get better' from here. I imagine an ending with Aki & Sora's secret coming out, along with a very awkward talk with their 'mother,' and Nami finally snapping AND KILLING EVERYONE AND TAKING HER FRIENDS HEAD NOW-WE'LL-ALWAYS-BE-TOGETHER-STYLE.
