I stumbled upon a comment of yours and decided to click here since you were talking about my favorite anime and I thought your profile pic was pretty.
Yes! Lion King~ I've been a fan ever since it came out in theaters. (Though Jurassic Park is my #1 film.) I even keep up with The Lion Guard. It's a kids show that's not nearly as good, but I feel obligated to watch it. I still need to see the new live action/CGI film. I get the feeling it will ruin the original. (And feel the same way about the new Aladdin, which I also have not seen.)
I think once you see more anime, your female character list will increase. Although your statement (that most women in anime and manga aren't kick-ass) is true, there are quite a few who fit that description.
So you're a Final Fantasy fan, eh? I still consider FF7 to be the greatest game of all time. (Though I'm pretty biased.) I spent four figures on FF soundtracks. Some were limited editions with fancy packaging, including XII. (I've heard the soundtrack but haven't played that one yet.) I recently created a Steam account and bought the PC ports of XIII, XIII-2 and Lightning Returns (I played the first two on PS3 for hundreds of hours and only played a demo for the third) and dozens of other games, since they were in bundles and cost about 90% off on average during the sale. I've only been playing Borderlands 2 lately. (84 hours over the past few weeks.)

Ha. I'm also not a Haruhi fan. Such a great premise, but ruined by the excessive focus on slice of life. Madoka is a much better goddess. On that note, the Madoka Magica movie trilogy is a must-watch! (The first two are like a better version of the series and the third is a sequel.)
I wonder when you'll see HXH 2011. I binged it in two weeks.

Would you mind expanding on that opinion/perspective? To the best you can recall anyway, haha. I ask because I might say I feel the opposite. I often felt FMA 03's approach and resolutions felt more satisfying, such as . Although Brotherhood had more story layers, I guess, and definitely felt more "epic."

Brotherhood's music was better, I'll give that for sure.

You seem like a likable person with your taste in anime and seemingly appreciation for Final Fantasy. As a Fullmetal Alchemist fan, I think you should give the original FMA a chance sometime. It and Brotherhood make incredible companion pieces.

I suppose so, it has definitely had some interesting developments and backstory/revelations to some characters as well as revealing certain "bankais." If I may ask, why has anime taken a backseat? Busy schedule? btw do you have a facebook or something?
