I'm a girl, 18 years young (or old, but they say it's an insult if you call a girl or woman old ) and I really started watching anime... Let me think. It was well, some years ago, somewhere early 2006, I guess. I watched anime before on the Dutch television, dubbed in Dutch. It's not horrible, but the episode numbering is very different from the original, for example Ahiru no Quack and another anime that I'm still watching on Dutch tv is Pokémon. I didn't really know that Pokémon was an anime at first and I started watching it somewhere around 1998~2000, just like Digimon. I still like those, especially Digimon. So, when I finally started watching anime, something like 2005~2006, I started with Love Hina. Someone was looking for that anime, but he couldn't find it and I asked around at MSN and I finally gave him the link for it. Before I knew it, I also started watching it and that's how I started with watching anime. Now I'm known as an otaku in my friend circle, even if I'm not actually an otaku. Therefore my room isn't full enough to be like that of an otaku's. I watch most of my anime on trough torrents, but/so I don't own that many DVDs. I mostly have movies in my anime DVD list and those are mainly Ghibli. I do own some manga and you can find them in my manga list, under the header ''On-hold''. Anime that I like to watch? It differs. I mostly like to watch romance, adventure, anything with bishounen, CLAMP, comedy and mystery, but I also like yaoi.

ef - a tale of melodies - perhaps it isn't the best season of the two, but it left a big impression. The story of Yuuko and Yuu is a real tear-jerker.
Gake no Ue no Ponyo - amazing animation, a bit less story, but still very nice. Recommended if you don't like to watch the Little Mermaid from Disney.
Hetalia - Why, oh why, did a certain country found it really neccesary to turn the actual anime in a very short anime? You can actually learn something, a bit about the countries and a bit of the history all over the world, most of them are related to WWI or WWII.
Kemono no Souja Erin - This isn't a kid, even though it might look like it for a non-watcher. Nice development and somewhat psychological as well.
School Rumble - Tenma and Harima, two of the most ... nah, just watch it yourselves. Hilarity ensues.
Spice and Wolf - trading and economy, an important aspect. So is... Horo.
xxxHolic Kei - why? Because this one has actually story in it: the spider-arc and Kohane-chan are interesting. You actually could start watching this one after watching the first episode of xxxHolic, that's at least what I think.
Manga
Dazzle - Rahzel, Alzeid and Baroqueheat are sarcastic kick-ass. Story? No. Same set-up of chapters? Yes, most of the time the new character that joins them or gets to know them, dies.
Ouran - lots of funny stuff going on here. Not to mention, there is progress.
Shugo Chara - one word: Ikuto. Do I have to pick a better description? Hrmm... there isn't.
Skip Beat - Kyoko is one cool character, just as Ren and Shotaro are. The story is non-standard to me; show-business.
Imperial brothers - Just as the name says, it's about two brothers. A scheming young king that they have to obey, who has quite some tasks for them. But there's more than that.

Hmm... There's a store where I buy my manga books, about 30 min away with train. It's about 30 km too, lol. But most of my friends (the good ones) live further away than that so I travel quite a lot. But I like it. Why don't you buy manga on the net?

Exactly! I always wanted to be celebrated when my friends were around. So when my friends birthdays came up, I'd always do something extra special so they wouldn't have to feel like I did. Family is great, but sometimes you feel closer to your friends, and they can understand you better than others. And you have more incommon. Nowadays I always think of what I should talk about with grown ups. They are getting more aware of my manga interest, but that's not an interesting discussion. Plus I've had it like a thousand times now.
Well I own some manga. Like King of Thorn, Blame, D.Gray Man, Trinity Blood and more (ofc). I always buy a lot whenever I see that the price is reduced. :P But The weekly mangas that I follow and, most of my mangas are pure only onlineread. What about you? Lol, yeah. I've just been busy with lab stuff and when I'm not slaving away at lab, it's a the gym, or out. Really, I haven't even gotten much time to watch anime nowadays. I barely keep up with the weekly episodes of FMA: Brotherhood. I started Nyan Koi! and wanted to start Kimi ni Todoke and Kobato, but just can't find the time for them. :(
But that's okay. Things are well on my end. Recently got a new video game for my Xbox and trying to find time to play that too.
No response yet....it's almost been a month now since the problem started. I might try a couple of things again to see if they work now but that's about all I can do.
