| I mean seriously. How many more claim topics are you guys going to create? The first was fun, and a great idea. Now you guys go and create topics and just rip off melancholy's idea again and again. It's always the freaking same anyways, at least try to think of something new, and innovative that makes your idea/topic stand out. Or do you love putting banners on your profiles so much? Don't you think they'll lose their meaning if you claim all kinds of things you can think of and put a banner about them on your profile ending up with 20 banners when no one's going to bother looking at them all? The rules are copied and pasted, you didn't even prepare someone to make banners beforehand hoping that some generous people will popup and create banners for you 24/7. If you make any more topics, those people won't have time for that anymore. It's only First Come, First Serve also. Stop for a moment and think, if I didn't lose you at the title for this topic already that is. |

| Claim a user was a joke, at least, I hope it was. I took it as a joke. =X Claim an anime however, eh, I just posted for the sake of going with the flow. The topic already exists and people are going to flood it whether it's original or not. Claiming TMoSH is sure to annoy quite a few people who are actually gonna take it seriously something which, pardon me, I'm actually going to enjoy. Yes, I'm a bad person, sue me. I don't really need the banner, which is why I said I would make it on my own time. Which basically means when I feel like getting to it. And people who regularly visit my profile would know that's not gonna happen soon xD. |

But if you want, i can remove the 'official'. i really saw it coming xP i didn't think the thread would be so popular. i under estimated how many members there were on MAL X_X so when we hit about 150 claims, i knew at least 5 people were tempted to copy off the idea. of course, i don't mind all these copies. But i wished they made a few differences. For example, change up the rules. I mean, all of them seem to have the same 100 post limit. And all the banners are the same 350x60 size >_<;. They could at least change the size so it's not exactly the same and people can tell the difference between all the claims. then there are some banners that stol'd my watermark without permission >_<; but oh well :P i can understand how tempting it can be to copy off the idea. I mean, making the thread is a lot of fun and it's pleasing to take a character or a series to yourself~ so in that sense, i really don't mind. btw - cyruz you kick ass for creating this topic |

| Well, after coming to "catch up" with the forums just now I got pretty annoyed once I saw two more claim topics... and I didn't want to believe who was the creator of one of them. As I hoped though it was just a deceitful topic title. Kudos cyruz! You absolutely read my thoughts. This is seriously going out of hand, besides being pointless/meaningless and annoying. I can clearly see now, what some member (forgot the name) said when he mentioned this was going to escalate... And as someone mentioned, official my a... Seriously people, I hate to burst your buble but try to use your head for the reason it was created. Instead of just mindless copying some one's idea. ...I sincerely hope this thread will put and end to all these "Claim nonsense". |

| i thought the claim a character was such a good idea. even though the marriage one was really similar it was a good idea to make a seperate club for it so that it wasnt in the forums and such. but i feel it's getting a little out of hand.... i dunno. is there really a point to claiming so many things? |

| If you want to know who are some of the people who didn't really initially support this claim a character stuff from the beginning, well... I was sort of verbal on how I thought it was ridiculous and I wasn't claiming (on IRC). Then everyone jumped and did it (note that my 'everyone' refers to the staff and the notable members in SOL that I know) so I ended up claiming also (I call it peer pressure though!) I'm too lazy to claim anything else though. And those 350 x 60 banners are cause I randomly made up the size for my MAL Award ones. I can easily make my own random banners for anything (and the picture in profile stuff was something... Kayr.. or cyruz or someone came up with first, right?) |
| OK, seriously...just because someone makes a topic doesn't mean you have to read it, right? Sure it's ridiculous, but no one is in any way obligated to join in. All of the "wow, this sure is promoting good discussion </sarcasm>" posts people seem to love making do about as much to promote good discussion as the claim threads do. Teh internets. They r silly. And there will always, always be silly people making silly posts in forums - even on sites as awesome as MAL. |
