Obviously people here haven't read Saint Seiya or Captain Tsubasa.

Of COURSE he can draw better than that (not all of his manga are of the same style) However, he made it purposely old school because it represents his signature artwork.

Yea, it doesn't help, the guys head looks like it's nothing but a paper mask taped on his neck and his sense of depth, posing and proportion is horrendous. What has it been 14 years since Saint Seiya? and he hasn't gotten any better.

Just because it's his "signature style" doesn't mean it's not still crap.

You have to realize manga is not the same as anime. Horrible artwork doesn't make it necessarily bad. Once you get used to it, you'll see that he can draw well if he wants to (i.e. look at Silent Knight Sho artwork, even though it's old, it's a bit different from Saint Seiya) Or even look at BT'X or Ring ni Kakero. They look fine according me. So I think he was purposefully trying to use his old art style.

OLD style does not mean it's ok to lose all sense depth and proportion, I'm sure this was fine 20 years ago but now it just looks bad.

His Medusa is still more lifelike than the one in the movie.

Sorry, but these drawings... really suck. And look awfully old.

Not very appealing to the eye.

And yes, I CAN draw, for your information.

I'm gonna go ahead and agree with what saka said. I really don't like the drawing. Off topic (maybe), I'm looking forward to watching this.

You can't make such a claim without the slightest bit of proof, well you can but its not rational. The way a person perceives drawings is subjective. You might appreciate it because you read saint seiya, but the ones who haven't just see it as art.

I'm afraid I'm with them in that regard, it doesn't really work well as promotional art.

tl;dr.... it looks like crap.

today's standards are higher than they were when this art style was popular... it should not be used as promotional art, even when you are marketing to retro otaku... how could anyone even recognize the actual movie when they're picking later at the theater? I hope they at least show the posters side by side.
