'Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi' Reveals Main Cast, Additional Staff, First Promo

The official website for the Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi (A Story of a Girl that was Unable to Become a Mage) television anime series revealed on Thursday the main cast, staff, visual (pictured), and the first promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2024 on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS.

Hana Hishikawa (Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou) and Misuzu Yamada (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru) are starring as Mirai Kurumi and Edel Yuzu, respectively.

Masato Matsune (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru) helms the anime with chief director Takashi Watanabe (Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki director) at J.C.Staff. Hiroko Kasunagi (RobiHachi) is handling the series composition.

The anime adapts Yuzuki Akasaka's novel, which won in Project Anima's Isekai Fantasy category in 2018. Akasaka penned the novel on the Estar website between March 2018 and September 2019 as a sequel to her Isekai datte Salaryman wa Iru. novel.

Project Anima is a collaboration between DeNA, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, Inc., Sotsu, and MBS. The first winner of the project, Sakugan, aired in Fall 2021. The third winner, Mebius Dust by Doga Kobo, was originally slated for a 2020 premiere.
