Akamatsu Ken announced in his web diary that they can now initiate "the project" freely because the number of the pre-orders of the new OVA Mahou Sensei Negima! Mouhitotsu no Sekai was large enough. He said he could not explicitly disclose what "the project" is from now since the sales data turned Akamatsu's personal desire into a real project . He had been saying that the final chapter of the OVA series will be released as a movie if the sales are successful. Also dont forget that different adventures he has with the students using the watch! |

It´s kind of obvious that it won´t be an animation of the Fest Arc. They won´t be able to finish the Magic World Arc in four OVAs, so they will end it with a movie... is sadm but is the most probably plot for the movie ¬¬ |

Fighting scene goes really fast once animated, a 17 page chapter can be done under 3 minute. It will be fast paced but not rushed. |

Yes I do think they can do it if they don't eternize on stupid character looking at each others for 20 sec and such thing. Also even if I don't want them to remove thing it will probably end up that they will remove a few thing if they do it. |

Im wondering if the movie will be the whole arc... if the magic arc will be finished by the time the movie is in production. It'll be a condensed version like the Ala Alba... Hopefully they keep all the best bits in there... |

First of all, I'm so freaking estatic that there will be a Negima movie coming in the future and trust in Shaft and parasol studios to make more great animations. Second, since I'm I've studied animation for several years and I'm aspiring to be an animator, I think I can answer everyone's questions as to why studios shaft and parasol have yet to make an animated series. An episode of an animated series obviously take months to produce and are also expensive when using thousands of sheets of paper to animate a single episode. To do the same thing for possibly 100+ episodes can be very problematic for the animation studio. Thus the animators would do less drawing/frames per second within an episode, making the animations look mediocre. Another reason may be business strategy. In Japan anime series usually have 2-3 episodes in a single dvd per release, costing roughly as much money as it would to buy a full-season anime box set in America. To do so with a long-running shonen series is pretty risky business, especially with the economy in Japan being a rut. In result, the "bundle the next manga volume with an OVA" strategy is used to give consumers a reason to want to fork over such money. And of course Ken Akamatsu gives even more of a reason to buy the bundles by wagering that if they make "X" number of sales, they'll add another set of OVA episodes or a movie. It actually has proven to be a flawless business strategy in my opinion. I mean don't get me wrong, I wish for a TV series as much as the next Negi-maniac, but with the way the Japanese industry isn't doing so hot, it's a bit much to ask for right now. |

Does this mean that the movie will just end the Magic World Arc? If so then that's great news!! :D I don't care it it's not a whole series at least it's animated :D (Though it will be more awesome it it's the whole series that will be animated). |

Man when I read "full-length anime" I thought it was the whole manga being adapted into a long running anime..I'd LOVE that. If it's just a movie..I'm slightly disappointed but I'm sure it'll be a great movie. I'm glad Akamatsu likes SHAFT, they do great work..but yeah, it seems like most their recent work is only short series (or short seasons of series, like zetsubou sensei). |

They need to make an animated version that sticks closely to the manga. I mean, look at FMA, they did a manga retelling of their series, and KHR stuck closely to its manga counterpart, and both anime turns out great! They should just make another 100+ episode anime masterpiece >.> |

Considering they have already taken two cracks at making a series out of Negima, and more or less botched both, I can't imagine why anyone would be eager to fund a third try. That said, it would be nice if they had animated the Festival Arc at some point, but that seems highly unlikely at this point. |

Maybe open up our own company and gather a league of illustrators to animate it for us? That aside I'm looking forward to the movie, though i am concerned about the "Saga Final" bit since Akamatsu did say some eternity ago that the appearance of Zazie and her character development will be in the final arc of the series, no sources for it right now but i will search it up. Well we're probably not that close to the end with what we've seen so far i guess but i seriously wonder how long the movie will be to capture the whole finally of the magical world arc and where will they begin from. |
