Hi! My name is James. I'm in college studying accounting hoping to become a CPA someday. Except for DBZ, I have only been watching anime for about 3 years. My friend showed me Naruto, which within 3 weeks was Shippuuden and the rest is history. I try my very best not to give up on any anime. The reason I do this is because you never know what can become of it. Take Naruto for example. I flat out didn't like it very much. But then my friend told me to push through it for Naruto Shippuden. Shippuden is now one of my favorites. Therefore, if I watch an anime that I think is bad in the beginning, I think of Naruto and most of the time it gets better. Keeping an open mind is important, for if you think an anime will be bad, it will in fact be bad. Don't judge a show before watching it. The only time I can't help but be a little prejudice against an anime is if it is episodic.
Favorite Anime:
I judge shows not on how good I think they are, but on how much I enjoy them, though these are generally one and the same.
1. Clannad After Story: Perfect. This is by far my favorite anime. Anything that can make me shed tears like that makes it an automatic favorite, though its the only one so far.
2. Naruto Shippuden: Unexpected. Although regular Naruto is not one of my favorites, Naruto Shippuden is amazing. Still airing, this show only gets better and better.
3. School Rumble: Hilarious. Harima is the best! If there is an anime character who's personality is most like mine, it would be Harima. Funniest show ever.
4. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Spectacular. I saw many good things about this show, but it took a long time for me to watch it. The amazing art work and story held me captive to marathon the entire show in one day.
5. Attack on Titan: Dazzling! This was by far my favorite show of the spring/summer. It kept me entertained until the end. I highly suggest watching it.
6. Dragon Ball Z: Nostalgic. This anime is both the first and second I ever watched excluding Dragon Ball. It's also helped me through some tough times.
7. Fairy Tail: Magical. I heard so many good things about Fairy Tail, so I had to watch it myself to confirm the statements. There are so many jaw dropping moments making it exceptional.
8. Code Geass: Organized. There is something about this show that makes me want to keep re watching it. Being my first anime to own, Code Geass would be the anime I would show to first time anime watchers.
9. Death Note: Intellectual. I like apples, chips, and chocolate, but besides that, this anime makes me think and would be higher on my list if it were not for how amazing the rest are.
10. Toradora!: Must-watch. Though I honestly was not expecting much, this show is something special. Hearts broken, names called, great music. This show has what it takes to be spectacular.
11. Lovely Complex: Astonishing. Throughout this anime, my heart would break and fill to the rim as the main character's heart did. I can't say enough about this one, for the expertise of the characters is at it's best here.

It's pretty much going to be the same thing as our Moe Competition, except for the fact that characters from overly popular series weren't allowed in the contest (since they always win). Hello, everyone! I'm sending out this newsletter to inform everyone of a competition that the Slice of Life Club is currently hosting! If you're interested in voting on character polls, cute girls and/or winning a profile picture or banner, then keep reading!
The Slice of Life Club is hosting a Moe Competition! The competition will go on from now until September. I've split all of the characters up into four different groups. Each group will come down to a finalist and all four finalists will face off in a championship round. In total, there will be five different voting rounds (including the championship round). As promised back in November, the winner of the competition will be featured on the club layout and the finalists will have a special card edition made in their honor.
