Production I.G Produces New Battle Anime Shoka

According to Animax, Production I.G's new one shot anime "Shoka" was announced to be aired on March 27th. The original scenario is the 7th Animax Award winner in 2008.

The story takes place in Edo era. Jumonji, the leader of psychics "Gasendo", notices a sign of rebellion against Tokugawa Shognate. Gasendo psychics weaponize their paintings and go war against giant monsters called "Gaju".

but it's too short IMO, I would've loved this if it were a series, but only 20 minutes? ugh

plus the guy doing the background is the same one who did Noein's, awesomeness ..

Well, the art and soundtrack should be good anyway, even if the rest of the anime leaves a bit to be desired.

I'm not surprised about the content one bit. Looking forward to it, though. I'd like if they took on more wth...? ventures that are uncharacteristic of them. Those are always a pleasure to watch. But Edo era action? Not surprised.
