Kamiyama Kenji's New Anime Higashi no Eden Announced [Updated on Nov 28]

According to Monthly Young Animal magazine, a new TV anime series "Higashi no Eden" (Eden of The East) will be aired in Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block from April 2009.

Director & Scenario: Kamiyama Kenji ("Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex")
Character designer: Umino Chika ("Honey and Clover")

Despite the utter cliche that amnesia represents, I'm sold on that, at least until I see a trailer or something. Political intrigue > schoolgirls' knickers, which seems to be the biggest plot device in anime these days.

I'm going to look forward to this on the basis that the Noitamina block delivers more often than not. I would really like to know what it's about though...

The scan doesn't tell me much about the anime at all. Is this the same thing as the game, Far East of Eden? It doesn't look like it though.

Could be pretty neat, never heard of the series before but hey, Kamiyama and Umino sounds like a pretty sexy combo.
